It was an amazing experience!
Other resorts that we've been to don't allow to enter the pool after 6pm. But here you are allowed to enter the pool anytime! They just need few hours in the morning to clean the pool.
The place is well maintained and clean. The staff is very polite and cooperative. They don't charge you extra for unnecessary things, almost everything is included in your package.
Every other thing about this place is amazing. My family loved this place and we will surely visit again.

Thane is a city just outside Mumbai, in the western Indian state of Maharashtra. It’s known as the ‘City of Lakes’, and its more than 30 lakes include tree-lined Upvan Lake, a popular recreational spot. Matheran, situated in Maharashtra state of India is a small hill station. The closest railway station to Matheran is Neral, which is well-connected to Mumbai and Pune by local trains. Neral has a narrow gauge railway station that runs daily trains to Matheran, however the train route from Neral to Matheran remains closed most of the time. Instead, shuttle services run hourly between Aman Lodge and Matheran station. You can hire taxi from Neral to reach Aman Lodge. It takes about 20 minutes to reach Aman Lodge from Neral Railway Station. As Matheran is automobile-free hill station, no automobiles are allowed beyond Aman Lodge except ambulances. So, parking is available in Aman Lodge beside the main entrance. There are frequent toy trains from Aman Lodge to Matheran. It takes around 15 minutes to reach Matheran from Aman Lodge. Once you arrive at Matheran hill station, you will find many hotels for your stay. The market area in Matheran is filled with shops and restaurants. Horses and hand-pulled rickshaws are available for transport. Alternatively, you can explore on your own by foot since most of the tourist attractions are located close to each other.

Matheran in Monsoon | Weekend Trip on Budget | Matheran Queen | Chala Bhurr with Alisha
Matheran hill station has always been my go-to weekend getaway but surprisingly I have never visited Matheran in Monsoon until now. This time I visited Matheran in July and it was a Matheran in Rainy Season experience.
I initially planned a one day trip to Matheran but then turned it into a 2 day trip to Matheran. I have also provided the itinery and 2 day trip to Matheran budget in the video so do watch the video till the end. I also did travel in Matheran toy train and to see the valley view from Matheran toy train was such a experience.
The intention to make this video was that even though there are many other Matheran in Monsoon videos but every of the videos shows everyone visiting all the famous points of Matheran irrespective whether it was raining or not and when you travel with family and friends we are very cautious and also not everyone is comfortable with travelling in heavy rains. So I decided to make this video and showcase the real and honest happenings of our visit in Matheran.

मैंने शुरुआत में माथेरान की एक दिन की यात्रा की योजना बनाई थी लेकिन फिर इसे माथेरान की 2 दिन की यात्रा में बदल दिया। मैंने वीडियो में यात्रा कार्यक्रम और माथेरान की 2 दिवसीय यात्रा का बजट भी प्रदान किया है, इसलिए वीडियो को अंत तक अवश्य देखें। मैंने माथेरान टॉय ट्रेन में भी यात्रा की थी और माथेरान टॉय ट्रेन से घाटी का दृश्य देखना एक ऐसा अनुभव था।
इस वीडियो को बनाने का इरादा यह था कि भले ही मानसून वीडियो में कई अन्य माथेरान हैं, लेकिन प्रत्येक वीडियो में सभी को माथेरान के सभी प्रसिद्ध बिंदुओं का दौरा करते हुए दिखाया गया है, भले ही बारिश हो रही हो या नहीं और जब आप परिवार और दोस्तों के साथ यात्रा करते हैं तो हम बहुत खुश होते हैं। सतर्क और भारी बारिश में यात्रा करना हर किसी के लिए आरामदायक नहीं होता। इसलिए मैंने यह वीडियो बनाने और माथेरान में हमारी यात्रा की वास्तविक और ईमानदार घटनाओं को दिखाने का फैसला किया।

Matheran is an automobile-free hill station and a municipal council in the Karjat taluka of the Raigad district located in the Indian state of Maharashtra. Matheran is part of the Mumbai Metropolitan Region, and one of the smallest hill stations in India. It is located in the Western Ghats, at an elevation of around 800 m (2,625 feet) above sea level.

Matheran was identified by Hugh Poyntz Malet, the then district collector of Raigad district in the May of 1850. Lord Elphinstone, the then Governor of Bombay laid the foundations of the development as a future hill station.
The Matheran Railway
The Matheran Hill Railway was built in 1907 by Sir Adamjee Peerbhoy and covers a distance of 20 km (12 mi), through forest land. The railway was inspected by UNESCO officials.
