मध्य प्रदेश के मध्य में स्थित नरसिंहपुर 5000 वर्ग किमी. के क्षेत्रफल में फैला हुआ है। उत्तर में विन्ध्याचल और दक्षिण में सतपुड़ा की पहाड़ियों से घिरे नरसिंहपुर पर प्रकृति खूब मेहरबान हुई है। पवित्र नर्मदा नदी जिले की खूबसूरती में वृद्धि करती है। प्राचीन काल में यहां अनेक वंशों ने शासन किया था। महान वीरांगना रानी दुर्गावती के काल में यह स्थान काफी चर्चित रहा था। यहां पर जाट सरदारों द्वारा 18 वीं शताब्दी में भगवान नरसिंह को समर्पित एक बड़ा मंदिर निर्मित किया गया था। जाटों के खिरवार वंश ने यहां पर कई वर्षों तक शासन किया था, खिरवार वंश ने नरसिंह अवतार को समर्पित दो मंदिरों का निर्माण किया था।

Shri Laxmi Narsimha Mandir - Kshetra Neera Narsimhapur...MAHARASTRA (Pt.-1)
Lord Shri Neera Narasimha was installed by Sri Prahladaraja in Krutayuga. In the same temple premises you can find one more Narasimha Idol which was installed by Chaturmukha Brahma. You can also find Shri Raghavendra Swamiji's Brindavan here in this temple premises. Shri ji is well known as incarnation of Bhakta Shri Prahlad. Here in this temple poojas are performed according to Madhwa tradition. Everyday Dwadasha stotra is rendered here at the time of Naivedya which was composed by Shri Madhwacharya. H H Shri Satyadhyanatirtha swamiji a well known great ascetic of 20th century came here and has given his guidance to the priests here, who were followers of Shri Maadhva Vaishnava tradition. Shri Dandavate, a well known scholar and the chief priest of this temple and his family, still follow the guidance of great guru Shri Satyadhyanatirtha. Many families in Maharashtra and Karnataka who has Neera Narasimha as their Kula-swami. Every year Narasimha jayanti is celebrated here. Deshastha-Brahmana families are the main followers of this temple. The present temple was constructed / renovated by Vithal Shivadev Daani at the time of Maratha Dynasty.The deity idol was made of riversand from the confluence of the rivers Nira & Bhima.

Some information on the Narmada River:
The Narmada / The Rewa is the only river in the world that people circumambulate. The Narmada, Also known as Rewa, originates from a small reservoir called Narmada Kund, located in Amarkantak, Madhya Pradesh. The river flows west for 1,312 km from its source and drains into the Gulf of Khambhat, the Arabian Sea.
A naturally occurring stone found in the Narmada River is known as the Narmadeshwar Shivling, and people consider it a manifestation of Lord Shiva. Therefore, this Narmadeshwar Shivling holds great significance and is widely revered in Shiva temples worldwide.

ये राव साहब की गढ़ी हैं. आजकल इसमें कोई नहीं रहता. इतनी सुंदर और बड़ी हवेली या राजभवन को लावारिस हालत में देख कर दुख हुआ.पुराने वैभव को याद किया. पिठोरा के सामने गुरादी गाँव है जहाँ पर गरुड़ भगवान का मंदिर हैं. बताया गरुड़ का एकमात्र मंदिर हैं. यह मंदिर उँचे टीले पर बना हैं.
