Narail District
Narail is a district in south-western Bangladesh. It is a part of Khulna Division.
Narail town was named after a feudal lord.The zamindars established a market at Roopgonj, also named after a zamindar. They established a post office for the first time in the district during British Raj near Rotongonj, named after another member of the zamindar's family. They modernised Narail, and promoted culture, sports and education.
The town of Narail is the road transport hub of the district. To the west it is connected by regional highway R750 to Jessore, about 32 km away. R720 runs north 50 km to Magura. Within the district, Zilla road Z7503 runs east to Lohagara and on to the Kalna ferry ghat on the Madhumati River. Z7502 runs south, across the Nabaganga River at Baroipara Ghat by ferry, and on to Kalia.

Narail is a district under Khulna Division. It is in the South-western part of Bangladesh. Artist Sultan house is the main tourist spots in Narail.
Narail district was established on 1 March in 1984. It is one of the smallest districts in Bangladesh. It consists of 2 municipalities, 18 wards, 43 Mahallas, 3 Upazilas. Narail sweetmeats made from milk are very famous. The town was named after a feudal lord. Great artist MA Sultan and Udahy Shankar are from this districts. The official web portal is narail.gov.bd.

নড়াইল বাংলাদেশের ক্ষুদ্রতম জেলার মধ্যে অন্যতম। ।এর আয়তন ৯৯০.২৩ বর্গ কিলোমিটার। নড়াইল জেলার পশ্চিমে যশোর জেলা , উত্তরে মাগুরা জেলা , পূর্বে ফরিদপুর জেলা , গোপালগঞ্জ জেলা এবং দক্ষিণে বাগেরহাট জেলা , খুলনা জেলা এবং যশোর জেলা । গবেষক এস,এম রইস উদ্দীন আহমদ এর মতে লড়েআল হতে নড়াইল নামের উৎপত্তি হয়েছে।যারা শক্রর বিরুদ্ধে লড়াই করে স্থানীয় ভাষায় তাদের লড়ে বলে । হযরত খান জাহান আলীর সময়ে রাজ্যের সীমান্তে সীমান্ত প্রহরী নিয়োজিত ছিল। নড়াইল এলাকা নদী নালা খাল বিল বেষ্টিত । নড়াইল জেলায় অনেকগুলো নদী রয়েছে। নদীগুলো হচ্ছে আঠারোবাঁকি নদী, নবগঙ্গা নদী, চিত্রা নদী, মধুমতি নদী ও ভৈরব নদ।

দর্শনীয় স্থান : নড়াইল জমিদার বাড়ি, হাটবাড়িয়া জমিদার বাড়ি, এস এম সুলতান বেঙ্গল চারুকলা মহাবিদ্যালয়, উজিরপুরে রাজা কেশব রায়ের বাড়ী, জোড় বাংলায় অষ্টাদশ শতাব্দীতে নির্মিত রাধাগোবিন্দ মন্দির, মধুমতি নদীর উপর নির্মিত চাপাইল সেতু, আঠারো বাকি নদীর তীরবর্তী দৃশ্য।
এই জেলার লোকজনের প্রধান পেশা কৃষি । এই জেলার প্রধান শষ্য ধান, পাট, গম, তেল বীজ, সরিষা, আলু, আখ, কলাই ও খেসারী। বিলুপ্ত অথবা প্রায় বিলুপ্ত শষ্যের মধ্যে রয়েছে নীল, কাউন, তুলা ও বার্লি। প্রধান ফল আম, কাঁঠাল, পেঁপে, কলা, জাম, নারিকেল ও সুপারী।
বিখ্যাত খাবার : নড়াইল জেলা পেড়ো সন্দেশ, খেজুরের গুড়, খেজুরের রস এর জন্য বিখ্যাত।
নড়াইল বৃহত্তর যশোর জেলার অংশ। ভাগীরথী এবং মধুমতীর মধ্যবর্তী অঞ্চল হওয়ায় নদীয়া শান্তিপুর অঞ্চলের ভাষার সাথে এই জেলার ভাষার কিছুটা মিল আছে। খুলনা এবং ফরিদপুর জেলার ভাষার সাথেও এই জেলার ভাষার বেশ মিল রয়েছে।
এ জেলায় জারীগান, কবিগান, কীর্ত্তন, হালুইগান, সারীগান, পল্লীগীতি, ভাটিয়ালী প্রভৃতি লোকসঙ্গীতের প্রচলন রয়েছে। ছড়া, ধাঁধা, মন্ত্র, প্রবাদ, প্রবচন, লোকগাঁথা বেশ জনপ্রিয়। বিভিন্ন উৎসবে মেয়েলী গান, অনাবৃষ্টির সময় কাঁদামাটি মেখে মেঘকে আহবান করে গান ও সিরনি বিতরণ, রোগবালাই দূর করার উদ্দেশ্যে আশ্বিন মাসের শেষ দিন ডালাভর্তি ফুলপাতা পানিতে ভাসানো, গো-মড়ক ঠেকাতে সিরনি বিতরণ ইত্যাদি লোকাচার। ছোট জেলা নড়াইল বাংলাদেশের ক্রীড়াক্ষেত্রে একটি বিশেষ স্থান দখল করে আছে।জেলার বিশেষ উল্লেখযোগ্য খেলার নাম টেবিল টেনিস ক্রিকেট কাবাডি ভলিবল হ্যান্ডবল কুস্তি সাইক্লি আরচ্যারী ফুটবল ।

Among the places of interest in Narail district are Arunima Eco Park, Niribili Picnic Spot, Chitra Resort, Sultan Complex, Bandha Ghat, Birshreshtha Shaheed Noor Mohammad Sheikh Complex, Tapanbhag Dighi.

যাতায়াতের মাধ্যম: ঢাকা থেকে সরাসরি নড়াইলের বাস আছে। নড়াইল শহর হতে রিক্সা, ভ্যান কিংবা গাড়ী নিয়ে আসা যায় চিত্রা পাড়ের চিতা রিসোর্টে।

এছাড়াও অনেকে মাশরাফির বাড়ি দেখতেও যায়।
যেকোন কারো কাছে শুনলে এই স্থান গুলির নাম ই আসে তবে সব কিছুকে ছাড়িয়ে আমার কাছে নড়াইলের ভাল লাগার স্থান হল ইছামতী বিল।
নড়াইলের পুরান বাস স্ট্যান্ড থেকে ভ্যান কিংবা ইজিবাইক এ যাওয়া যাবে। আর সুলতান কমপ্লেক্স রুপগঞ্জ এ।
ভিক্টোরিয়া কলেজ আর বাধাঘাট সামনা সামনি।
পুরান বাস স্ট্যান্ড এর সোনারগা হোটেলে খাওয়া দাওয়া করে নেওয়া যাবে। তবে খাবারে স্বাদ যাই হোক,দামের সাথে নামের মিল পাওয়া যায়।
