Kanazawa is known in Japanese as the land of the Gold marshes and is a city off the beaten and tested Golden Route (Tokyo, Osaka, Hiroshima).
Gold can be found on most things such as Gold Leaf Curry, Gold Leaf Ice Cream straight to a temple played in Gold.
Known to be the equivalent of Kyoto for its vast amount of Tea Houses, Samurai districts and castles, it has its own international port, allowing visitors a great glimpse of this city by the sea of Japan.
Only a short relative distance away is the village of Shirakawago, in the outskirts of Gifu Prefecture and is the land of the World UNESCO Heritage, Gosshou Zukkuri.
Seeing how COVID19 has delayed travel execution, it gives more space for those who are interested in coming to a city that mixes countryside living with the friendliness of urban living.

Toyama is a coastal city on Japan’s main island, Honshu. In the center, Toyama Castle Park has a restored castle dating to the 1500s, plus small museums of history and art.
The nearby Toyama Glass Art Museum displays striking contemporary works. Rakusui-tei is an art museum in a traditional home with a formal garden. On the Fugan Canal, Kansui Park has views of the distant Tateyama mountains.

Toyama Castle
You can go inside the castle for 200 Yen, and find a museum and observation deck. But my favorite part was exploring the gardens.
Daiwa Toyama
It is the only department store in Toyama Prefecture where various events such as product exhibitions are held, along with the latest fashion, cosmetics, selected goods and souvenirs from Toyama. My favorite store was this christmas pop-store!
Machinaka Plaza
Right next to it is the glass-covered weather-proof galleria Machinaka Plaza, where various events are held.
Toyama Glass Art Museum
Home to a permanent exhibition of Dale Chihuly’s works. This place was a highlight of my trip. This building also serves as a library.

Fee for temporary exhibitions varies, typically 700-1000 yen.
Toyama City Hall observation tower
5 minute walk from the station, we have a free observation tower. Just walk in and take the elevator to the top floor.
Zuiryuji Temple
Recognized by the government as a national treasure. You feel like you are in Nara or Kyoto at this Zen Buddhist temple.

The Great Buddha Of Takaoka
One of the three largest Buddha statues in Japan.
Since 1933, this 52-ft. bronze Buddha, among Japan's largest, has overlooked a low-key neighborhood.

今回は、合掌造り集落で有名な南砺市（富山県）を巡ります。
観光客も多く訪れる南砺市ですが、私達は合掌造り集落には行かずに、
ノスタルジックな場所を求めて自由に動き回ってみました。
もっと沢山の場所を訪れたかったのですが、あまりに見どころが多く、
時間が足りずに行けなかった所がいくつもあります。
懐かしき昭和を思い出す、古い町並みを残す山間の集落と、
広大な水田の中に近代化された住宅や建物が建つ平野。
時代の流れを感じさせる中にある、時が止まったような光景は
まさに私達の心を揺さぶりました。

For this episode, we will travel around Nanto-City in Toyama Prefecture,
where villages are famous for Gassho-zukuri, a house with a steep rafter roof.
There are many visitors to Nanto-City to see the Gassho-zukuri but,
our journey seeks to find nostalgic places instead.
We wanted to visit as many places as we can but,
since there were too many places marked as must-see, we had no time but to
give up a couple of places.
Townscape from the old days in villages through mountainous regions remembering
the Showa Period (1926~1989),
huge paddy fields and modernized housings and buildings in a plain.
Places that feels the trend of times, and views that feels like time has stopped truly moved our hearts.

Was born in 1974 and graduated from Dokkyo University, majoring English
Language. When he was in middle school, an Italian film, Cinema Paradise
inspired him to become a film director. He has worked as an assintant director
under famous director such as Kiyoshi Kurosawa and Takeshi Kitano.
He deduted as a director with a film, A Camel shopping street in 2003 which
was invited by Tokyo Int’1 Film Fest in 2004, Cairo Int’and travelled
some more international film festivals.
His 5th film, “Going Home was released 2011 and has been screened
for 5 long years at over 1,200 movie houses and Halls throughout Japan.
His new film ,“ Blossoming Into A Family 2016 was put together with
seasoned staff with some of Japan' s best known artists.
Included in the group is renowned costume designer Kazuko Kurosawa,
and Kenji Takama considered Japan's No1 director of photography.
