You can go inside the castle for 200 Yen, and find a museum and observation deck. But my favorite part was exploring the gardens.
Daiwa Toyama
It is the only department store in Toyama Prefecture where various events such as product exhibitions are held, along with the latest fashion, cosmetics, selected goods and souvenirs from Toyama. My favorite store was this christmas pop-store!
Machinaka Plaza
Right next to it is the glass-covered weather-proof galleria Machinaka Plaza, where various events are held.
Toyama Glass Art Museum
Home to a permanent exhibition of Dale Chihuly’s works. This place was a highlight of my trip. This building also serves as a library.

5 minute walk from the station, we have a free observation tower. Just walk in and take the elevator to the top floor.
Zuiryuji Temple

Two years ago we went on a seven day road trip from Tokyo to Kyoto via the Sea of Japan coast. One of the stops along the way was the scenic Kurobe Gorge. Because we are still at home trying to flatten the curve, we decided to take you on a ride along the gorge, all the way to Keiyakidaira, with a stop for the night at Kuronagi Onsen.

富山県滑川市のホタルイカ漁の洋上観光に参加しました。毎年大人気のツアーで、予約開始とともにあっという間に枠が埋まってしまうほどです。この日は前日が雨で、出港を心配していましたが、その数時間前から雨も止み風もなく、海の状態も良好でした。
夜明け前の海で繰り広げられるホタルイカ漁の洋上観光。ホタルイカの漁期は一年のうち数ヶ月。しかも洋上で見られるのは春の産卵が活発化する４月から５月までのわずか一ヶ月。定置網にかかったホタルイカの放つ青い光で、まだ夜が明けきらない日本海が一瞬にして幻想の世界に変わります。きらきらと揺れ動くホタルイカの青い光は富山湾でしか見られない感動の体験でした。（2023/4/19）
