Nara is a city located in the Kansai region of Japan and is famous for its ancient temples, shrines, and historical landmarks. It was once the capital of Japan and is now a UNESCO World Heritage Site.
One of the main attractions in Nara is the Todai-ji Temple, which houses the world's largest bronze statue of Buddha, standing at over 16 meters tall.
The city is also home to over 1,000 deer that roam freely around the parks and streets. Visitors can feed and interact with the friendly deer, making for a unique and unforgettable experience.

NARA surprised us! (12 things to do in Japan's original capital)
We visited Nara, Japan and expected to see deer... but we found so much more in the city too! So, we made a vlog of some of the best things to do in Nara, which includes the deer park, but also includes some of Nara's unique snacks, beautiful temples & shrines, and an amazing cultural experience in the original capital of Japan!

1. Relax and take in the views at the Sarusawa pond!
2. Try Japan's fastest mochi at Nakatanidou
3. Visit Nara Park and see the bowing deer

Ancient Nara, Japan [Amazing Places 4K]
Nara was the capital of Japan during the 8th century, from 710 to 784. Nara was Japan's first capital and the seat of the Emperor. Listed as UNESCO World heritage site for its historic monuments, dating from the 8th century. The Buddhist Monuments in the nearby Horyu-ji Area are listed as another World Heritage Site, some of its structures date from the late-7th or 8th century, which makes them some of the oldest wooden buildings in the world.

Today we're bringing you along on our two incredible days in Nara, Japan???? We had almost zero expectations aside from the deer park, and we were absolutely blown away!
We are Oskar & Dan, two boys from Sweden who decided to change the course of our lives, drop out of university, and live life full-time????????????????♂️ We've been together for eight years and have been traveling together pretty much since day one✈️ In 2022, we completed our goal of visiting 100 countries at the age of 25 and now we're back exploring some of our favorite places on a deeper level before visiting country 101, 102, etc...???? Japan was country 38 (first visited in 2018)????
We started our trip in the Keihanshin region, which is Japan's second largest metropolitan area after Tokyo, made up of the cities Osaka, Kobe, Kyoto, Nara, and other smaller ones. After eight days around this region, we hopped on the Shinkansen bullet train twice, first to Hiroshima and then to Fukuoka. From there, we took a boat to Busan, South Korea (we were SO excited about this ferry ride between Japan and Korea!) before catching a train to Seoul and flying home from there!

The Perfect Day Trip From Kyoto & Osaka | Nara, Japan????????????????
In Nara, Japan, there are over 1,000 Wild Deer roaming around the city! These deer even know how to bow, and they will bow in exchange for a tasty senbei cracker.
We also visited the beautiful buddhist temples of Kofukuji and Todaij, which has a massive Daibutsu (Bronze Buddha) statue. There are so many amazing things to do in Nara, making it the perfect day trip from cities such as Kyoto and Osaka. Full video is on YT! Nabari is a beautiful city tucked away in the mountains of western Mie Prefecture. Amazing sights and wonderful people are just the beginning of what awaits here.

The Akame 48 falls - NABARI
This is the Akame 48 Falls, located in Nabari city, Mie prefecture. What used to be a ninja village, is now a famous spot for fall leaves, and we've come at exactly the right time of year.
Located in the mountainous region of Mie, Akame lies close to the border with Nara. Here, you can experience a mix of breathtaking waterfalls and verdant forests. There is roughly 4km of well-maintained footpaths to follow, which will lead you past some incredible sites that can be enjoyed year round, and by any level of hiker.

Some of the five most beautiful waterfalls of Akame Shijūhachi Taki (赤目四十八滝) in Nabari, Mie-ken. They are referred to as the Akame-go-baku group (赤目五瀑) are the best five.
