Short history of dera baba murad shah ji
It is a Sufi paradise located in Jalandhar District in Nakodar and is only 24 km away from Jalandhar City. Baba Murad Shah Ji became a disciple of Baba Shere Shah Ji.[2] He opted for Fakeeri at the age of 24 years and returned to God at the age of 28 years. Baba Shere Shah Ji always used to stay in a lonely place and did not want people to come near him so that there would be no disturbance in his prayers. During the partition of India Baba, Shere Shah Ji moved to Pakistan and gave his blessing to Baba Murad Shah Ji to look after the Darbar and to continue to spread the message of Sufism. ai Ghulam Shah Ji also known as Sai Laddi Shah Ji became the head of the darbar after Baba Murad Shah Ji left this world. Sai Ji continued to look after the darbar and continue building the darbar. Sai Ji used to organize an annual Mela (fair) in the memory of Baba Murad Shah Ji, in which he invited Qawwal and Sufi Punjabi Singers to perform. Gurdas Maan became a disciple of Sai Ji and Sai Ji loved Gurdas Maan very dearly. In 2006, Sai Ji took his pagri (turban) off during a qawwali mehfil and placed it on Gurdas Maan's head.
After Sai Laddi Shah Ji left this world, Gurdas Maan now leads the melas (fairs) in memory of Sai Laddi Shah Ji and Baba Murad Shah Ji.
one in the memory of Baba Murad Shah Ji and the other for Sai Laddi Shah Ji. Gurdas Maan leads these auspicious events by visiting the grave of Baba Murad Shah and Sai Laddi Shah by offering prayers. He also conducts the Jhanda Racism in which the green flag is replaced which symbolizes Sufism.
During the Urs (Anniversary) of Sai Ji, Gurdas Maan usually offers gifts to the Mazars of the pious Saints. He also lights incense sticks which has a great significance in Sufi rituals.

Dera Baba Murad Shah ji is located at Nakodar, in the Jalandhar district of Punjab. The city is at a distance of 24 km from Jalandhar and about 114 km from the holy city of Amritsar. Nakodar – which literally means “No other door like this one” – is a place each one must visit. This door is open to all who come here carrying within their heart a deep wish, waiting be fulfilled. No one returns empty-handed from here. This is a place that must be visited at least once in this lifetime, for it truly is a Heaven on Earth! “ ਝੋਲੀ ਭਰ ਦੇਊਂ ਮੁਰਾਦਾਂ ਨਾਲ ਤੇਰੀ, ਤੂੰ ਸੱਚੇ ਦਿਲੋਂ ਦੇਖ ਮੰਗ ਕੇ ” Every year, two fairs are celebrated at Baba Murad Shah Darbar. Devotees from all corners of the globe gather here in lakhs, to pay homage to the great “Almast Fakirs”. Gurdas Maan ji and several other qawwals arrive at this holy shrine to perform, recite the holy name and receive divine blessings of their Murshad (Master). It is said that whosoever comes here with a pure heart and asks for something, his Murad (Wish) will certainly be fulfilled!

Gurdwara Mau Sahib ( Phillaur - Jalandhar - Punjab )
Guru Arjan Dev was married to Mata Ganga ji on 19 June 1589. Mata ji was the daughter of Bhai Krishan Chand of the village of Mau sahib, 10 km west of Phillaur in the state of Punjab, India. The now famous historical town of Doaba (Bilga) is where the fifth Sikh Guru, Guru Arjan Dev Ji arrived the day before the wedding. He stayed in this village for two days to take rest while going to village Mau Sahib for wedding ceremony.The village now a town is famous as the holy clothes of Guru Arjan Dev ji are kept here in the memory of this wedding. The people of Bilga served the Guru heartily and Guru Ji was pleased and blessed them. Gurdwara Bilga Sahib stand in memory of the Guru’s visit. On his departure, the Guru presented the following personal item of his clothing: Saili (cap), chola, pyjama, Batva, Dushala, Simrana Mala and Chandan ki chawanki after taking bath.Every year on the occasion of marriage of Guru Arjan Dev and Mata Ganga ji, a great fair is held here over 3 days. On the last day of these celebration, the holy clothes of Guru Sahib are shown to general public before the closing ceremony of Diwan.
