Una is a Municipal Council City in Una district in the Indian state of Himachal Pradesh. It serves as the Headquarter of Una district. There are 11 wards under Municipal Council. Una City is home to the Kila, which is a historical fort and an ancestral home of the descendants of the first guru of the Sikhs, Guru Nanak.[1 || Vicky Lakhanpal
Located in the rugged mighty mountains, Una is the place where tourist shall encounter the divine presence of God. Una is a cultural and religious hub, which has been hidden away in the lush green hills of Himachal Pradesh for a long time. The name 'Una' which in Hindi means 'Unnati' was given to the town by Shri Guru Arjan Dev, the fifth Guru of the Sikhs. The district of Una was carved out of the Hoshiarpur District of Punjab in 1972.
Gurudwara Dera Baba Bharbhag is the prime attraction of Una. The Gurudwara is located on a hillside and was built in the honor of the renowned social reformer and spiritual leader, Baba Gurbarbhag Singh, the son of Baba Ram Singh. The Gurudwara is famous for its Baba Bharbhag Singh Mela or the Hola Mohalla Fair which is attended by a huge number of pilgrims from the Hindu and Sikh community in India. It is also said that the Baba Gurbarbhag Singh used to hold some magical powers. During the festival, the priests of the Gurudwara called 'Masands' treats people who are affected by some evil spirit or mental illness.
Devi Temple, Baba Rudran and Ashram are some of the noteworthy sites which are worth a visit on a trip to Una. From evening to morning tourists will be able to listen to the echoes of holy hymns within the premises of the town. All this creates a wonderful atmosphere that one would love to experience.
Adventure activities
Bhwarwain, around 25 km away from the district of Una, is an ideal place for trekkers and nature lovers.
78 km away from Una rests the famous Govind Sagar Dam where activities like swimming, surfing, water-skiing, kayaking, rowing, canoeing, and White Water River rafting are organized.
Where to stay
Suvidha Palace (Hamirpur Road), Hotel Savera (Una main road), Natraj Guest House (Opposite DC office), Hotel Green Palace, Maya Deluxe Hotel (Near Bus stand) and Trishma Resorts (Una-Nangal Highway) are some of the hotels and guesthouses to stay in Una.
Where to eat
Sethi Juice Bar, Sharma Dhaba, Dayal Sweet Shop (Opposite the Bus Stand) and Sunny's Spicy Treat (Opposite Una Goverment Collage) are some of the best places in Una to enjoy figure licking food. If tourists are looking for fine-dining option then Pandit Moolraj Residency, Menon Hotel (Mehatpur), Trishma Resorts, Hotel Jai Maa (Chintpurni) and Hotel Alfa Gagret (Hoshiarpur-Chintpurni Road) are the best options.

Best time to Visit: Una is one of the destinations in India which are ideal to visit all year around. The temperature remains comfortable throughout the year and is ideal for nature-lovers to indulge in mesmerizing sightseeing opportunities.
How to Reach
By Airways: The nearest International Airport is Sri Guru Ram Das Jee International Airport, Amritsar, roughly a two hour drive from Una. It is well connected to major cities like Delhi, Chandigarh, Srinagar, Surat and Mumbai through the airlines like Spice Jet, Indigo, Air India, and Go Air.
By Railways: The town has its own railway station, Una railway station. The rail head is connected with other cities like Rupnagar, Chandigarh, Ambala, Haridwar and Delhi.

Gurdwara Bhabour Sahib
Gurdwara Vibhour Sahib (Bhibhour Sahib or Vibhore Sahib) is situated in the Nangal City in Ropar Distt. It was here that Guru Gobind Singh came at the invitation of Raja Ratan Rai, staying for several months.Staying near Nangal for another nine months it was here that Guru Sahib wrote Chaupai Sahib Paath while sitting on the bank of river Satluj.
Guru Gobind Singh stayed here for about a year and composed hymns in praise of God. The Gurdwara is situated on the banks of the river Sutlej.

Incessant heavy rainfall in most parts of Himachal Pradesh for over 24 hours has wreaked havoc. In all five people have been killed, seven-eight were stranded in different parts of the state.
Besides, 11 houses, one hotel and two vehicles have been damaged.

A portion of the national highway, along the Beas river in Himachal Pradesh's Kullu, was washed away following massive landslides. Traffic has been disrupted between Mandi and Kullu as several vehicles remain stranded along the highway, officials said, adding that work is on to clear the stretch.

On the National Highway 505, thirty college students stranded between Gramphu and Chota Dharra on Sundo-kaza-Gramphu following road block due to landslide and flash floods at several places.
Earlier in the day, a portion of National Highway 3 has been washed away by the overflowing Beas River in Kullu, Himachal Pradesh. As many as 736 roads have been closed for traffic while 1,743 transformers and 138 water supply schemes were affected on Sunday morning. Several roads have also been closed in Shimla districts.
The Kullu-Manali road is blocked at several places due to landslides and Beas River is in spate near Ramshela and traffic has been halted from Kullu to Manali and Manali to Atal Tunnel. Landslides have also occurred on Mandi-Kullu road and only emergency vehicles are allowed on this stretch. All the trains between UNESCO heritage Shimla and Kalka track have been cancelled as landslides and falling of trees blocked the railway track at many places.
Shops have been swept away in Manali, while vehicles have been washed away in flash floods at Nullah in Kullu, Kinnaur and Chamba.
