Their owners are very wealthy people – members of royal families, American business magnates, Russian billionaire businessmen and world-class politicians. The most expensive yachts are built according to the personal requirements of the owners – this may be the presence of a helipad or a large pool on the upper deck or exclusive materials for interior decoration. A Samurai Fight May Have Looked Like This?
The Samurai fought for their warlord or Daimyo and took part in a number of battles, especially in the 'Warring States' Sengoku period in the late 16th and early 17th century. Wearing armor, even though not as heavy as European armor, the Samurai duel with an opponent may not have been as beautifully choreographed as you see in the movies, wearing fashionable kimono and hakama, using sweeping sword technique. Don't you think it would be chaotic, noisy and terrifying?
That's how we saw and felt it when we were filming this meeting of Samurai at the annual Kobudo (old way of martial arts) demonstrations at the Nippon Budokan just before Covid shut down Japan.

Have you ever wondered what it's like to walk up and down every single aisle in a Japanese supermarket for 1 hour? Look no further! This video does just that. Come and explore the produce section! And the fish section! And even the bento section! Wait, is that the candy section? Does it ever end? You'll have to watch and find out! Why is this video so damn long?!?!
In all honesty, I'm sorry this video is so long. But I wanted to give the full experience and not cut out anything. Also, I made this video the way that I want, not how other people want or expect.

This was filmed in Mammy Mart (マミーマート) a supermarket chain found around the Kanto region of Japan. They're one of the larger grocery stores in Japan and they pack so much stuff into one building.

We are full time overlanders from New Zealand. This trip in 2019 thru China, Mongolia and Russia was a research trip to see, if we want to take our vehicle overland, the NEST, from Australia thru Asia, Mongolia and Russia.
After a week in Mongolia exploring the rugged landscape, we boarded the weekly Trans Mongolian train 033, which came overnight from Beijing, China into Ulaanbaatar, Mongolia at 2.22pm.
The next stage is 27 hours to Ulan Ude, Russia. The border crossing happens at 9.50pm and takes a few hours. By 11.10pm one is in Russia.
It was definitely excited to be in Russia for the first time in our life, 30 years ago this never could have been possible. After months of organising we were in the country. Just keep two rules in mind, don’t talk about religion or politics in China or Russia.
Next stop was Ulan Ude. We got dropped off at minus 15 at 1.30am. No one around to greet us. We had no cell phone coverage in Russia. I have printed off the direction to our hostel in Mongolia. Even then it seems like a hour to just get across the rail bridge with our bags. Your body uses up so much more energy in the cold temperature. The Hostel Druzhba Nairamdal greeted us with open arms. The owner was so good to us. In the morning after 4 hours sleep, she came with us to the ATM and supermarket.
Ulan-Ude lies 5,640 km or 3,500 miles east of Moscow and the third-largest city in the Russian Far East of 0.5 million people.
Ulan-Ude is named after its location on the Uda River. It was founded as a small fort in 1668. Due to its favourable geographical position, it grew rapidly and became a large trade centre which connected Russia with China and Mongolia. From around 1735, the settlement was called Udinsk (Уди́нск) and was granted town status in 1775.
The Trans-Siberian Railway reached the city in 1900 causing an explosion in growth. The population which was 3,500 in 1880 reached 126,000 in 1939.
Until 1991, Ulan-Ude was closed to foreigners. There are old merchants' mansions richly decorated with wood and stone carving in the historical centre of Ulan-Ude, along the river banks which are exceptional examples of Russian classicism. There is a large and highly unusual statue of the head of Vladimir Lenin in the central square: the largest in the world. Built in 1970 for the centennial of Lenin's birth, it towers over the main plaza at 7.7m and weighs 42T. We found the centre of the town to be uninvited…what was more interesting was what was happening down at the Uda river. We could have watched the men down there for hours, even at minus 10..

Here is a video of a very popular hotel buffet. I visited the very famous Imperial Hotel in Tokyo for a buffet lunch. The Imperial Hotel was the earliest to open an all-you-can-eat style restaurant in Japan, and is the oldest and most admired hotel buffet in Japan.
The Imperial Hotel is one of the oldest hotels in Japan, located in Hibiya near Tokyo Station. The buffet restaurant, Imperial Buffet Sal, is located on the top floor of its 17th floor.
Next to Imperial Buffet Sal is Kamon, a teppanyaki restaurant, which is also very famous for its teppanyaki, especially garlic rice.

Here I present an album of photographs of the Russian Imperial Battleship Sevastopol.
She was laid-down on the 3 July, 1909 with work commencing on July 16 1909 at the Baltic Shipyard in St. Petersburg. She was launched on the 16 June 1911 and completed on the 11 April 1914.
When issuing tactical and technical specifications for the design of battleships Naval General Staff proceeded from the fact that the most likely opponent of Russia in any forthcoming war would be Germany and, consequently, the future battlefield would be the Baltic Sea. Hence, she had a comparatively low freeboard, and an absence of a forecastle. She carried four sets of three main artillery guns ans 16 small side placed artillery guns. When she entered service she became part of the 1st. Brigade of battleships based in the Baltic Sea..........
In August 1915, together with the battleship Gangut, Sevastopol covered mine laying in the Irbensky Strait. With the Revolution the ship became part of the Red Baltic Fleet. March 12-17, 1918 made the transition from Helsingfors (Helsinki) to Kronstadt.
During the Russian Civil War, Sevastopol defended the sea lanes to
Petrograd and was present at the Krondsatdt Uprising in 1921.
Durting the following years the ship was updated and modernised and on November 22, 1929 departed from Kronstadt to the Black Sea, visiting on the way, Brest in France, and Cagliari and Naples in Italy.
Arriving on January 11, 1935, she became part of the Black Sea Fleet. This was followed again by a major overhaul and modernisation in 1933-1938. During the Great Patriotic War she participated in the defence of Sevastopol and the Kerch Peninsular. She was subsequently awarded the Order of the Red Banner.
On July 24, 1954, Sevastopol was reclassified as a training battleship. However two years later she was excluded from the Naval lists and subsequently sent to the scrapyard.......

今回は横浜駅から東横線に乗り、約15分の場所にある川崎市 武蔵小杉へ行ってきました。
武蔵小杉は以前は工業地帯や社宅が多い街でしたが、バブル崩壊を機に工業の移転などが相次いたため土地に余裕ができ開発がどんどん進み、現在では駅前はタワーマンションが並び、綺麗に並ばれた街路樹と共に、お洒落な建物が並ぶ素敵な都会になったようです。
現在では住みたい街ランキングの上位にランクインするなど、神奈川県を代表する街になっている武蔵小杉を少しだけ歩いてきました。
追記：武蔵小杉はムサコ や コスギという愛称もあるとか…最近知りました。2022年 10月27日

Comiendo en las alturas ( 634 Musashi Restaurant)

Queridos Todos :
En esta ocasión les mostramos la segunda parte de la visita al Skytree , ya que nos habían invitado a filmar en este extraordinario Restaurant, y decidimos hacer un video especial desde allí.
El 634 Musashi es el restaurant de mayor altura en Japón ( ubicado a 345 metros de altura , dentro De la Torre Skytree ) , y uno de los más altos del mundo.
Su comida es una fusión de la comida japonesa con la francesa , que combina verduras de temporada y una variedad de alimentos que se reúnen en la metrópolis de Tokio.
todos los platos son muy elegantes, con una presentación que te hace un jacuzzi la boca
Mas allá de la excelente gastronomía y los exquisitos vinos que probamos ese día , la vista es algo incomparable desde ahí , en un buen día, puedes ver el Monte Fuji en una vista lejana ,y en una noche, paisaje nocturno adornado por miles de luces deleita tus ojos.
