Ganadara Brewery :
Ganadara Brewery is a local craft beer brewing company specializing in aromatic beers using regional products such as apples. You can enjoy a tour of the brewery and have a taste of the craft beers. Indeed in Korea and elsewhere, local breweries using local products are becoming more and more popular. Due to the huge amount of fruits that grow every season, Mungyeong has become a hot spot for beer and wine brewers. You can also taste wine made of omija fruit, a famous fruit in South Korea.
Omija theme tunnel :
The representative specialty of Mungyeong is Omija. Mungyeong is the largest producer of Omija, accounting for 45% of Korea's Omija production.
Mungyeong, the second largest coal producer in Korea, has many railroads carrying coal. However, as the last coal mine,'Eunseong Coal Mine', closed in the 1990s, the railways had to be left alone. Accordingly, Mungyeong City is actively utilizing it as a tourism resource, such as creating a railroad bike for the first time in the country and remodeling a waste tunnel. Omija Theme Tunnel is one of them. In the long tunnel of 540m, there are various sculptures and promotional outlets with the theme of Omija. There are many places that sell Omija fried and Omija jelly in and around the tunnel.
Mungyeong ceramic museum :
Mungyeong is known for its exquisite ceramics. While each piece has its own individual shape and design, as a whole, ceramics of Mungyeong are highly regarded because of their historical and cultural value. Mungyeong is home to a number of master craftsmen as well as Sagijang (referring to craftsmen making chinaware), who have been officially designated National Intangible Cultural Property. As a renowned kiln site producing Buncheongsagi (grayish-blue celadon) since the early Joseon Period, Mungyeong still offers outstanding ceramics that reflect the essence of traditional craftsmanship.
Flyingland :
Mungyeong Flying Land, a top paragliding facility, is conveniently located in
Mungyeong, which offers excellent conditions for this amazing sport.
Mungyeong’s geography creates an excellent updraft and steady winds, and the area’s total absence of high-tension wires means plenty of wide-open space for a safe landing. Flying is available all year round, and landing sites are at the entry of Dansan, Goyogyo, and Mungyeong Spa.

North Gyeongsangbukdo or Gyeongsang Province is a province in eastern South Korea, which is divided into 10 cities, Mungyeong is one of them. Mungyeong owns a lengthy history and known today for its various historic and scenic tourist attractions. Actually Whenever speaking of the city name Mungyeong , everyone always thinks of Mungyeong Saejae. But Gomosanseong Fortress is such a hidden attraction in Mungyeong that people doesn’t aware much about.
How to get to Gomosanseong Fortress
Public transport
I don’t recommend visiting Gomosanseong Fortress by public transport. Because it is just not practical as it takes about three to four hours by bus from Seoul or Daegu, whereas its location next to the highway makes it a perfect stop by car.
Even if you want to go to Gomosanseong Fortress by public transportation you can do it at the Jinnam’ stop in front of Jinnam Rest Area.
By Car
Gomosanseong Fortress is located less than an hour south of Chungju and about an hour and twenty minutes north of the Banwoldang subway station area in Daegu. There are two routes available of gomosanseong fortress. Either way takes almost same time. You can use any of those according to your preference. Both access has parking lots.

고모산성 - 경상북도의 관문
경상북도 또는 경상도 는 대한민국 동부에 있는 도로서 10개의 시로 나뉘며 문경도 그 중 하나이다. 문경은 유구한 역사를 가지고 있으며 오늘날에도 다양한 역사적 명소와 경치 좋은 관광 명소로 알려져 있습니다. 사실 문경 하면 누구나 항상 문경새재를 떠올린다. 하지만 고모 산성은 문경의 숨은 명소로 사람들이 잘 알지 못하는 곳이다.
고모산성에 가는 방법
대중 교통
고모산성을 대중교통으로 방문하는 것은 추천하지 않습니다.
서울이나 대구에서 버스로 3~4시간 정도 걸리는데,
고속도로 옆에 있어 차로 가도 안성맞춤인 만큼 실용적이지 못하기 때문입니다.
고모산성까지 대중교통을 이용하시더라도
진남휴게소 앞 진남정류장에서 하차하시면 됩니다.
자동차로
고모산성은 충주에서 남쪽으로 1시간 이내,
대구 반월당역에서 북쪽으로 약 1시간 20분 거리에 있습니다.
고모산성은 2곳의 주차장이 있습니다.

Mungyeong Saejae (Hangul: 문경새재) is a mountain pass in central South Korea. It lies on Joryeong Mountain between the main peak (1017 m) and Sinseon Peak (967 m). The pass itself rises to 642 metres (2,106 ft) above sea level. Mungyeong Saejae connects Mungyeong City, North Gyeongsang province with Goesan County in North Chungcheong province. Water flowing down from the Mungyeong side of the pass eventually flows into the Nakdong River and meets the Sea of Japan at Busan. Runoff from the Goesan side eventually flows into the Han River, which passes through Seoul to meet the Yellow Sea at Incheon.
The pass is also known by the name Joryeong (조령, 鳥嶺). Both names literally mean bird pass, and probably signify a pass so high that even birds find the crossing difficult.
The pass is renowned as the only place where the old road between Seoul and Busan, the Great Yeongnam Road, still looks like it did in the Joseon Dynasty. On June 4, 1981, the area around the Mungyeong side of the pass was declared Mungyeong Saejae Provincial Park, which is now a significant tourist attraction. In addition to the pass and the surrounding scenery, the park boasts a museum and tourist hotel, along with a small village of businesses catering to the tourist trade.
During the Joseon period, Mungyeong Saejae played an important role as the gateway in and out of the Gyeongsang province. Scholars, traders and government officials from Gyeongsang had to go through the pass when going to or from Seoul. Three great gates which maintained control over the pass during that time still stand, although the only people who go through them now are tourists.
Mungyeong Saejae is the subject of at least one traditional Korean folksong in the arirang style.

Cette semaine je visite le studio de tournage de drama qui a été utilisé par NETFLIX pour le drama Kingdom à Mungyeong
Ce passage fut exploité durant le règne du Roi Taejong (1400-1418) jusqu’en 1925 date à laquelle une nouvelle route fut perçé par le col de Ihwaryeong.
La construction d’une porte fortifiée à ce passage est due à la triste experience des invasions japonaises (en l’an 1592 et 1598). En 1594 Jogok-gwan, la deuxième porte fut ajoutée et en 1708 Juhol-gwan et Joryeong-gwan furent construitent et considérées comme des points de défense du pays. Après avoir été endommagées les trois portes fortifiées furent en 1966, classées monuments historiques numéro 147 puis, furent finalement restaurés en 1976.
Le studio de tournage en extérieur des feuilletons historiques de la chaîne KBS se trouve dans le Parc de Mungyeong Saejae et se trouve être le plus grand au monde. Il comporte trois palais et de nombreuses maisons de l’époque de Goryeo sur une superficie de 70.000 m².
