The Truth About McKeesport, Pennsylvania: Is It Really That Bad?
I drove through the worst parts of McKeesport, Pennsylvania. This Rust Belt City is easily one of the poorest, most dilapidated, and dangerous places in America. With a violent crime rate 295% over the national average, and a poverty level over 30%, it is nothing short of tragic. So many abandoned homes, businesses, and broken dreams.
After the industrial decline decades ago, McKeesport, PA suffered dramatic economic collapse. With the combination of steel factories shutting down, a 1976 downtown fire, and major retail stores folding up, this city has never recovered from it. Jobs were gone and the people had to move away. The population was 55,355 in the 1950's, now down to 17,082 as of 2023. Let's take a drive and check some of the hardest hit parts!

This is hands down one of the WORST cities in Pennsylvania, maybe even the country. Between the high crime and absolute devastation surrounding the whole city, this is one dangerous place to be! It's unbelievable how much despair is here. So many houses and commercial buildings just empty, one after another. Let's take a drive and check out some of the worst parts of McKeesport, PA.
96% of cities in America are safer then McKeesport. You have a 1 in 24 chance of being a statistic of crime. McKeesport has a violent crime rate of 295% HIGHER than the national average.

Hello from Pittsburgh, Pennsylvania! Pittsburgh is hands down one of our favorite larger cities in the United States. With three rivers, 446 bridges (the most in the world!), historic buildings, and gorgeous green hills all around, it's so dang picturesque. And while we have been to the city before (for Adam, many times), this was our first time truly exploring the city together, so we spent one day doing as many touristy things as possible!
