This is how you spend one day on Marthas Vineyard exploring the Island & how to use the bus & save $

Only an hour and a half from Boston Massachusetts we took the ferry from Woods Hole to Vineyard Haven in Martha’s Vineyard. From there we traveled via Marthas Vineyard Bus to Aquinnah and the Gay Head Cliffs and went hiking to the Gay Head Lighthouse. There was a beautiful Island Beach there as well as a few shops and a beautiful ocean overlook. After that we ventured to Edgartown to explore the island harbor and get lunch. Edgartown has amazing beaches and the Edgartown Lighthouse, and the harbor was filled with sail boats. After that we went to Oak Bluffs which took us across the Jaws Bridge and we found ourselves in a bustling town full of restaurants, shops and things to do. This town has the worlds oldest merry-go-round or carousel that is still in operation today. Ending the day with a Island ocean sunset at Coop de Ville restaurant right on the water overlooking the beautiful bay full of yachts and sail boats. This was the most incredible island we have visited and has plenty of Hikes and shops with countless beautiful views of the island and the blue water surrounding Marthas Vineyard which is close to Boston and Cape Cod...we got some amazing 4K drone shots. If you are in the Boston or New England area you should plan a visit. Thank you for watching our travel vlog

Plimoth Patuxet Museums Tour Plymouth Massachusetts (4K)

Take a tour of Plimoth Patuxet Museums (formerly known as Plimoth Plantation) located in Plymouth, Massachusetts through our eyes during our visit there June 30th, 2019. This was a fascinating living museum where we learned a lot about how the Pilgrims of the Mayflower lived back in the 1600s where they first settled in New England. Plimouth is the actual spelling that the original pilgrims used instead of Plymouth Patuxet.

We also saw the daily lives of Wampanoag Native Americans, including their Wetu huts, cooking Nasaump porridge, and carving canoes. It was fascinating as well interacting and talking to the actors who played the pilgrims at the settlers village.

We definitely recommend checking it out if you are in New England. This was a very interesting, interactive outdoor museum that is fun, family friendly and educational.

Columbia River Gorge National Scenic Area - Glacial Lake Missoula Ice Age Floods #9

#9 of 10 slideshows from the region showing the impact of Glacial Lake Missoula and the Ice Age Floods #iceagefloods

Once the floodwaters from Glacial Lake Missoula made their way across Washington and through the Wallula Gap, they continued to flow down the Columbia River. Their next point of constriction was the Columbia River Gorge. The gorge backed up the floodwaters, creating the temporary Lake Condon upstream from today's The Dalles, Oregon. As the water was slowed, it dropped the sediments and gravel it had carried downstream.

As the water passed through the Columbia River Gorge, it deepened the gorge. Due to differences in the underlying rock and other reasons, the impact was different on the Oregon side when compared to the Washington side of the river. The Oregon side tended to erode as steep, vertical cliffs. The Washington side eroded down with a more gradual slope.

Highways line both sides of the Columbia River through the gorge, and there are a number of places to stop for sightseeing and hiking.

The Photos (in order)

L15A0038 - Aerial view of the Columbia River as it reaches The Dalles and the upstream end of the Columbia River Gorge; this marked the western end of Lake Condon

O15B1324 - View of Lyle, Washington from Rowena Crest Viewpoint on the Oregon side; Lyle was built on a huge gravel bar that was deposited here at the entrance to the Columbia Gorge by the Ice Age floods

P14A0210 - The view from Oregon's Bridal Veil Interpretive Trail across the Columbia River of cliffs eroded into the Washington side of the gorge

P14A0215 - The view downstream in the Columbia River Gorge from Bridal Veil Interpretive Trail

P14A0192 - Looking upstream into the Columbia River Gorge from Crown Point

O15B1368 - Rooster Rock was carved on the Oregon side of the Columbia River Gorge by the Ice Age floods; note the person on top of Rooster Rock

MA: Plymouth, Mayflower, Plymouth Rock

Located approximately 40 miles (64 km) south of Boston, Plymouth holds a place of great prominence in American history, folklore, and culture, and is known as America's Hometown.

Plymouth was the site of the colony founded in 1620 by the Pilgrims, passengers of the famous ship the Mayflower.

Mayflower's voyage across the Atlantic Ocean took 66 days, from their departure on September 6, until Cape Cod was sighted on 9 November 1620.

It is traditionally said that the Pilgrims first set foot in America at the site of Plymouth Rock.

The culmination of the voyage in the signing of the Mayflower Compact was an event which established a rudimentary form of democracy, with each member contributing to the welfare of the community.

The Boat and the Rock are very close to each other at the sea side in Plymouth.

The South Coast

The South Coast of Massachusetts is a special place. Just across the canal from Cape Cod with its shoreline on Buzzards Bay, the area includes the towns of Marion, Mattapoisett, and Rochester. Marion and Mattapoisett have beautiful beaches, marinas, and yacht clubs for the water lovers and sailors, architecture and village settings for the history buffs, plus world renown schools and golf. Next door, Rochester has the treed lands, fields and farm lands for working or gentlemen farmers or anyone that likes to spread out more privately.
See and listen why the South Coast of Massachusetts is special to so many.

Plymouth Rock Massachusetts Where Pilgrims Landed On The Mayflower

The Pilgrims set off from Plymouth England and landed at what is now Plymouth, Massachusetts or Plymouth Rock in December of 1620. A year later they celebrated the first Thanksgiving. If you turn up the volume you can hear the guide telling why the rock is the actual Plymouth Rock. The hillside shown on the opposite side of the sea is where 50 pilgrims were buried who died less than one year from the time of landing in the new world.
