Yamaguchi is mostly a rural prefecture, its beautiful sprawling natural landscapes are some of the most scenic in all of Japan. Along the Western coast is Japan's most picturesque shrine, Motonosumi Shrine, Japan's largest and longest limestone cave and plateau are spread across the midlands, and on the Eastern edge of Yamaguchi is a unique bridge known to be the best spot for cherry blossom viewing.

The village of Masuda, part of the city of Yokote in Akita Prefecture, was once a thriving commercial center. The central street, lined with many beautiful historic machiya townhouses, is a testament to this rich past. Masuda is also one of the snowiest areas in Japan. The village lives up to this reputation during our visit in February 2023.

Japanese Izakaya, known as drinking restaurants, are a huge part of Japanese social culture. Intended for groups of people to gather and drink while eating small Japan food dishes together and often there’s way too many menu items to choose from so I’m here to guide you through it as it can be intimidating for first Japan travelers and Tokyo travelers.
Also, I'm going to show you how to do it on a budget as I'll introduce cheap Japanese food that you can try for yourself.
And what better to show you the ins and outs than at Teketeke in Tokyo Shibuya as they have all the goodies for a Chicken and Yakitori Izakaya restaurant. I’m gonna share with you some of the more popular Japanese food dishes and my food recommendations so you know what to order cheaply when you visit Japan. This is a Japan food tour at a Japanese chicken izakaya.

Ebisu Jinja Shrine, Masuda, Japan - The Japanese Mont Saint-Michel?
Ebisu Jinja Shrine is located on a rocky reef called Miyagashima.
Ebisu is the god of marine safety and fishing.
The approach to Miyagashima is only visible at low tide.
At high tide, the approach to the island disappears, making it impossible to cross the island, which is why it is compared to Mont Saint-Michel.
