Mapleton Falls and Conondale National Park
Mapleton Falls is located 95km north of Brisbane as part of the Sunshine Coast Hinterland on the Blackall Range. The falls drop 120m and are a short walk.
Conondale National Park is the heart of an extensive area of unspoilt mountain scenery in the Conondale Range. It has magnificent forests and deep gorges and sparkling creeks and waterfalls. We explored Booloumba Falls and Peters Creek Walk and the amazing scenery along the way.

Our small town, USA, tour this week takes us to the county seat of Linn County, Kansas. Mound City was originally named Sugar Mound from 1855-1859, and those four years so a lot of violence with the Kansas-Missouri Border War that proceeded the Civil War. Mound City had a different kind of battle to earn the county seat as well, eventually landing the honor for good in 1875. There are a lot of historical places to visit around town including a historic park. Fun place to explore!

Three impressive waterfalls await you on this remote trail. Nestled deep in the old growth forest of the central Oregon Coast Range, the Kentucky Falls Trail gives you an easy path through a lush wilderness.

Green Peak Falls 10 miles from Mapleton, OR
Quite a surprising beautiful waterfall. So much larger than anticipated. The lush rainforest has covered trees & limbs with thick green moss & the fall leaves glowed bright yellows & beautiful reds. In December, the rains had created an awe inspiring fervor of thunder.
Directions:
There are two easy ways to reach this site. One, From Corvallis, take SR 34 west to the small berg of Alsea, and turn south at the signs for Alsea Falls. In one mile, turn left onto South Fork Road, and follow this route for 8 miles (some of which is gravel) to Hubert K. McBee Memorial Park. Turn into the campground, cross the Alsea River and park in the signed Green Peak Falls parking area. The second, from Junction City (just northwest of Eugene), follow SR 99W north to Monroe, and turn west onto Alpine Road (signed for Alsea Falls and the Benton County Tour Route), and follow the signs to Alsea Falls in about 13 miles, and continue another .6 miles beyond to the entrance to Hubert K. McBee Memorial Park. From the parking lot, the trail winds an easy 1/2 mile to the base of the falls.

The Sweet Creek Falls trail is a 2 mile out and back hike near Mapleton Oregon. The trail follows a beautiful cascading creek that features 11 small waterfalls.

Along the Columbia River Gorge in Northern Oregon there are tons of waterfalls to see. I decided it would be fun to challenge myself to see how many I would be able to see in one day, and here are the results. Sweet Creek Falls | Most Beautiful Waterfalls in Oregon
Join us on a hike to another of the most beautiful waterfalls in Oregon, Sweet Creek Falls near Mapleton Oregon. This place stands out for the sheer beauty all along the trail, where smaller cascades seem hidden around every corner and cool catwalks allow you to walk right at the river’s edge.
In today’s video, we’ll share the highlights of this beautiful hike and everything you need to know to visit Sweet Creek Falls yourself.
The Sweet Creek Falls trailhead is on the central Oregon coast, about a 3-hour drive south of Portland or an hour and 15 minutes’ drive east of Eugene.
We visited on a Saturday afternoon in April, and there were plenty of other people on the trail, but it wasn’t packed. In addition to the spectacular waterfalls, make sure to appreciate the amazing moss along this trail.
The trail follows Sweet Creek through an idyllic moss-covered forest. At just under two miles out and back, it’s a short hike, but definitely worth a visit for the incredible scenery. Make sure to look out for wildflowers and wildlife along the trail. We saw skunk cabbage, largeflower fairybells, and salmonberry flowers blooming.
I think of Sweet Creek as a kind of waterfall paradise because waterfall after waterfall materialize along the trail. It’s incredible how uniquely beautiful each one of them is. Although there are many waterfalls along the way, the official Sweet Creek Falls is at the end of the trail.
Definitely a special place if you enjoy waterfalls and lush Pacific Northwest forest!
