10. Shell Beach
A salt-sprayed section of the Guyana Coast, where the Atlantic rollers meld with the Caribbean currents out at sea and mangroves sprawl and crawl along the sands to the shore, Shell Beach is unquestionably the most famous beach in the country. But people don’t come to sunbathe and swim.

9. Parika
Tin shack docks and streets of purring scooters form the heart of riverside Parika; a down-to-earth port town on the banks of the Essequibo. At once gritty and welcoming, this gateway to the Essequibo Islands and river boat terminal is a fine place to sample the real, raw character of Guyana’s coast. Don’t miss the buzzing market that erupts in the town each Sunday.

8. Orinduik Falls
Carving their way out of the rocks that roll out from the Pakaraima Mountains in the western reaches of Guyana, just on the border with Venezuala, the Orinduik Falls offer something a little different to the country’s great cascading cataracts that fall from the top of its tepui hills.

7. Kaieteur National Park
The jewel of the Potaro-Siparuni region is a vast and expansive protected area that rises and falls with the great bulwark ridges of the Guyana tepuis. Dressed in thick, monkey-dotted, jaguar-stalked rainforests and covering a whopping 62,000 hectares, it’s hailed as the ecotourist hotspot for the country.

6. Port Mourant
Port Mourant is a small and welcoming little town on Guyana’s Atlantic coastal stretches, famed for its prolific output of cricketers (the sound of cork on willow is the usual backing track to daily life here!) and as the birthplace of the county’s revered ‘Father of the Nation’: Dr Cheddi Jagan. The down-to-earth spot is also a great place to glimpse Guyana’s agricultural heartland, with famer’s markets touting fresh fruits straight from the fields.

5. New Amsterdam
Since its foundation in the middle of the 18th century, New Amsterdam – the regional capital of East Berbice-Corentyne – has flitted from Dutch masters, who held sway over the lowland plantations here from the citadel of Fort Nassau up the valley (the remains of which can still be visited today), to the British, who endowed it with ground-breaking sanitation laws and attracted the likes of Cesar Castellani (perhaps the most famous architect to grace Guyana with his work).

4. Bartica
Straddling the channels of the Essequibo River where it joins the meanders of the Cuyuni and gives way to the wilder, less inhabited heartlands of Guyana, Bartica was once known as the ‘Gateway to the Interior’.

3. Kanuku Mountains
The great peaks of Kanuku are divided in two by the long and winding water channels of the Rupununi River, separated into a duo of diamond-shaped highland regions that are both famed for their wealth of mammalian species and old growth forests.

2. Linden
For almost a whole century, the settlement of Linden has been Guyana’s primary mining hub, with thousands of prospectors and miners making their way to this tropical spot to pull bauxite from the hills that line the Demerara River.

1. Georgetown
The place where so many Guyanese come to shop, work and play is actually something of a shadow of its former self. In fact, there’s no question that Georgetown’s golden age came with the height of the colonial powers here, a fact that its name – made in honour of England’s King George III – implies.

???? DAVID’S BEEN HERE SHIRTS & MERCH:

Back in July of 2019, I spent 11 amazing days traveling around the diverse South American country of Suriname. These are the top 10 places you must visit in Suriname!

1. Paramaribo
Suriname’s capital and largest city. It’s a cosmopolitan melting pot where you can find a rich, colonial past and cuisines that range from Chinese to African to Indonesian to Indian to Dutch. You can also find accommodations for every budget!

2. Tamanredjo
A small town between Paramaribo and Albina. Most of its people are Javanese, and you can find incredible Indonesian chicken, fried banana, rice, and beans, at Warung Lenny’s restaurant in town.

3. Galibi
A small village located at the meeting place of the Maroni River and the Atlantic Ocean. There, you can find lots of outstanding seafood and, between February and June, you can find nesting sea turtles!

4. Brownsweg/Ston Eiland
A town about 80 miles south of Paramaribo, near Brownsberg Nature Park and the Brokopondo Reservoir. The reservoir and surrounding forest offers jungle treks, Howler Monkey Island, and fishing for piranha, and you can find Surinamese barbecue in town!

5. Atjoni
A tiny port village that provides transportation to villages along the Upper Surinamese river. Here, you can grab some Indonesian-inspired food at the riverside restaurant and take a boat ride to Isadou Island.

6. Isadou Island
A small river island in the Upper Suriname River that is home to the Isadou Resort. You can also enjoy delicious jungle food, take treks in the forest, take a dip in the river, search for caiman at night, and visit nearby Jaw Jaw village!

7. Browns-Mountain
A 500-meter-tall mountain in Brownsberg Nature Reserve near Brokopondo Reservoir. From its summit, you can enjoy views of the reservoir and hike to two different jungle waterfalls.

8. Palumeu
A tiny village along the Tapanahony River deep in Suriname’s interior. Take a hike through the jungle to Poti Hill, explore the primary and secondary forests, go fishing in the river rapids, and visit the village!

9. Lelydorp
A mostly Javanese village along the main road leading south from Paramaribo. It’s a great place to find unique handicrafts and Indonesian-inspired street food like lumpia, satay, chicken sausage, and boiled vegetables with spicy peanut sauce!

10. Johanna-Margaretha
An area east of Paramaribo near the meeting place of the Suriname and Commewijne Rivers. Watch the pink-bellied dolphins at sunset and have an Indian dinner at the Johanna en Margaretha plantation before heading out into the swamp to look for caimans at night!

And there you have it! Those are the top 10 places you must visit in Suriname. This country is so unbelievably diverse in terms of culture and food, and is also a gorgeous country that is largely untouched and unknown to most. You will love it!

map of French Guiana

French Guiana ; French: Guyane , is an overseas department/region and single territorial collectivity of France on the northern Atlantic coast of South America in the Guianas. It borders Brazil to the east and south and Suriname to the west.

With a land area of 83,534 km2 (32,253 sq mi), French Guiana is the second-largest region of France (more than one-seventh the size of Metropolitan France) and the largest outermost region within the European Union. It has very low population density, with only 3.5 inhabitants per square kilometre (9.1/sq mi). (Its population is less than 1⁄200 that of Metropolitan France.) Half of its 294,436 inhabitants in 2022 lived in the metropolitan area of Cayenne, its capital. 98.9% of the land territory of French Guiana is covered by forests, a large part of which is primeval rainforest. The Guiana Amazonian Park, which is the largest national park in the European Union, covers 41% of French Guiana's territory.

Since December 2015, both the region and department have been ruled by a single assembly within the framework of a new territorial collectivity, the French Guiana Territorial Collectivity (French: collectivité territoriale de Guyane). This assembly, the French Guiana Assembly (French: assemblée de Guyane), replaced the former regional council and departmental council, which were disbanded. The French Guiana Assembly is in charge of regional and departmental government. Its president is Gabriel Serville.

View from Salvation Islands
Fully integrated in the French Republic since 1946, French Guiana is a part of the European Union, and its official currency is the euro. A large part of French Guiana's economy depends on jobs and businesses associated with the presence of the Guiana Space Centre, now the European Space Agency's primary launch site near the equator. As elsewhere in France, the official language is standard French, but each ethnic community has its own language, of which French Guianese Creole, a French-based creole language, is the most widely spoken. mapa de Guayana Francesa , carta de Francais Guyane French Guiana lies between latitudes 2° and 6° N, and longitudes 51° and 55° W. It consists of two main geographical regions: a coastal strip where the majority of the people live, and dense, near-inaccessible rainforest which gradually rises to the modest peaks of the Tumuc-Humac mountains along the Brazilian frontier. French Guiana's highest peak is Bellevue de l'Inini in Maripasoula (851 m, 2,792 ft). Other mountains include Mont Itoupé (826 m, 2,710 ft), Cottica Mountain (744 m, 2,441 ft), Pic Coudreau (711 m, 2,333 ft), and Kaw Mountain (337 m, 1,106 ft).

Several small islands are found off the coast: the three Salvation's Islands which include Devil's Island, and the isolated Îles du Connétable bird sanctuary further along the coast towards Brazil.

The Petit-Saut Dam, a hydroelectric dam in the north of French Guiana forms an artificial lake and provides hydroelectricity. There are many rivers in French Guiana, including the Waki River.

As of 2007, the Amazonian forest, located in the most remote part of the department, is protected as the Guiana Amazonian Park, one of the ten national parks of France. The territory of the park covers some 33,900 km2 (13,090 sq mi) upon the communes of Camopi, Maripasoula, Papaïchton, Saint-Élie and Saül. French Guiana is divided into 2 arrondissements and 22 communes:

Simplement, la réalité dans toute sa vérité. Ainsi, vous pourrez vous faire votre propre idée sur le monde dans lequel vous vivez.
Actuellement, j’ai déjà visité près de 170 pays et mon tour du monde continue grâce à vous qui me suivez.

Countries with the LEAST Amount of Tourists! (you're welcome :P)

Are you tired of booking the perfect vacation only to find yourself stuck in endless queues of tourists who had also booked the perfect vacation. Well, never again! Here are the
countries with the LEAST amount of tourists!

1. Bhutan, Asia
Just over a quarter of a million people visit this isolated Himalayan kingdom a year. You can visit monasteries and immerse yourself in its culture whilst taking beautiful walks through its breathtaking snow-capped mountains and luscious valleys.

2. French Guiana
With only 190,000 visitors a year Guiana was the least visited country in south america. It has a rich Creole heritage, fantastic beaches, spectacular waterfalls and vast areas of unspoilt jungle. If you're thinking of going there, remember that it is french so remember to bring some Euros!

3. Bangladesh
Most people have heard of this country but surprisingly few visit it, just 125,000 a year.
Better known for its dense population and poverty, Bangladesh isn't only the worldwide call center. It has the largest mangrove forests in the world. lush green jungles, and picturesque tea plantations as well as an abundance of wildlife including the magnificent Royal Bengal Tiger.

4. Liechtenstein
Just 79,000 people visited Liechtenstein in 2017 making it nearly the least visited country in Europe. This tiny country boasts massive alpine views and actually loos like it belongs in a fairy-tale.

5. Timor-leste
74,000 people visit this relatively new country that claimed independence from Indonesia in 2002. The abundance of marine wildlife here is amazing with hammerhead sharks, turtles, manta rays, frogfish, ghost pipefish, Dolphins, humpback whales, sperm whales, and even the endangered Dugong!

6. Sierra Leone
Only 54,000 visit sierra leone a year but as it recovers from war and ebola outbreaks more and more people are visiting its beautiful coastlines, national parks and lush rainforests where you may catch sight of the rare pigmy hippo!

7. Sao tome & Principe
Only a little bigger than their better known cousin The Seychelles and despite their stunning beauty these islands are only visited by 29,000 people a year! Sao Tome has beautiful architecture and beaches and Principe is so bio-diverse it has been declared a UNESCO Biosphere Reserve. these islands are definitely worth a visit.

8. Comoros
Comprised of three islands, 28,000 people visit a year, which is surprising considering that Comoros has almost untouched coral reefs, virgen rainforests, active volcanoes and its home to the Mongoose Lemur, giant Turtles and Livingstone bats!

9. Montserrat
With just 8,000 visitors a year its the least visited island in the Caribbean. This is probably due to its active volcano which erupted in the mid 1990s, covering the capitol in ash and forcing 2 thirds of the population to emigrate. although we don,t recommend living there its definitely worth a visit.

10. Tuvalu
Tuvalu has a total land area of just 10 square miles, so its easily missed! just 2,000 people visit a year but those who do can immerse themselves in the Indonesian culture whilst enjoying its crystal clear water, beautiful beaches and coral reefs.

The majority of journalists around the world have chosen to develop their subject on controversial and sensational themes: violence, war, crime. But all these facts represent only 1% of our world and its inhabitants, forgetting the remaining 99% of which we never speak.
I chose to visit every country on the planet and film them to present them in High Definition format but in a raw way, without music, without comment. Simply, reality in all its truth. Thus, you will be able to make your own idea of the world in which you live.
Currently, I have already visited nearly 170 countries and my world tour continues thanks to you who follow me.
