Malmedy is a city and municipality of Wallonia located in the province of Liège, Belgium.
On January 1, 2018, Malmedy had a total population of 12,654. The total area is 99.96 km2 which gives a population density of 127 inhabitants per km2.
The municipality consists of the following districts: Bellevaux-Ligneuville, Bévercé (including the hamlets of Baugnez and Xhoffraix), and Malmedy.
Under the complex administrative structures of Belgium, which has separate structures for territorial administration and for language community rights, Malmedy is part of Wallonia and of the French Community of Belgium. But since it has a German speaking minority, it is one of Belgium's municipalities with language facilities . Malmedy and Waimes are the two municipalities in the French-speaking part of Wallonia with facilities for German speakers. The population of Malmedy is approximately 95% French speakers and 5% German speakers. The variety of German spoken is Moselle Franconian.

We wandelen langs de Hoëgne, Linglinspo, Warchenne, Geitenberg in Aywille, Grot van Remouchamps, allemaal wandelroutes met lekker wat hoogtemeters om fit te blijven voor het echte werk. ( lees: Dolomieten)
Alles tussen de 200 en 575 hoogtemeters, en niet te ver rijden van Nederland.
We nemen onze zelfgebouwde Fiat buscamper Slowly 2.0 mee door de heuvels van België en naar mooie slaapplekjes.

Bouillon, Belgium is one of the most beautiful small cities in Europe. In this video, we highlight the best things to do in Bouillon so that you can have a great trip and use your time there to the fullest. From walking the city to hiking Tombeau du Geant and visiting the Bouillon Castle, there is so much to do in Bouillon!
At number 5, we recommend walking along the river. The city of Bouillon is situated next to the Semois River, which winds through the rolling hills and has many bends. In fact, Bouillon is nearly an island since the river makes such a wide turn here.
Another great thing to do in Bouillon is visiting the Archéoscope. Here, you will immerse yourself in an interactive exhibit while learning about the history of Bouillon and Godfrey de Bouillon, who the town is named after.
Hiking at Giant’s Tomb right outside the town of Bouillon is also a must. This is one of the most photographed nature spots in all of Belgium for good reason. With a winding view over the iconic Semois River, you will want to make sure and bring your camera to this spot.
For the second best thing to do in Bouillon, we recommend hiking up to the Belvedere Tower. Starting from the base of the castle, you will climb switchbacks up the hill, crossing a couple of beautiful viewpoints on your way.
And in our opinion, the best thing to do in Bouillon is to visit the castle. It is the highlight of the city due to its massive size, unique architecture, and fascinating history. The castle itself was built on top of a giant cliff, giving it a breathtaking size and stature.
Make sure to buy your city pass (15€) to visit the attractions. You can buy it at the Bouillon Castle, Archeoscope or the Ducal Museum.

In January 2021 my best friends Arnaud, Kevin and I decided that we had enough of staying at home and went on a trip to the High Fens. It was a shitty, rainy day but we had a lot of fun.

Belgium - Malmedy - Les Tros Marets
This hike through the valley of the Trôs-Marets near Malmedy is breathtaking, yet suitable for families and dog walkers too.
Geographically, the route is a direct neighbour of the moor landscape of the High Fens, so it has any amount of variety and many kinds of landscape to offer.
It begins and ends at the hotel-restaurant Ferme Libert, right on the downhill course. There are plenty of parking spaces available. An information panel provides the most important details of the hike and a signpost marks the start. At the beginning, the trail is mainly on paths with lots of rocky sections.
Via a little bridge you reach the river valley, and from here the hike is pure enjoyment. The trail becomes an exciting path, made safer in some places with steel cables. All the time, it stays at the waterside, as you make your way between rocks and stones. Then it continues uphill, and gradually you leave the river and its valley behind. At the top there is a deciduous wood with some possibilities for a picnic.
Via a typical hiking trail you reach the Targnon stream, also an offshoot of the High Fens. The trail along the stream becomes a path again in places and via more open terrain you return to Ferme Libert.

The Waterfall of the Bayehon is a 9 meter high waterfall near the Belgian village of Longfaye, located at an altitude of 510 meters. It is the highest navigable waterfall in Belgium for kayakers. This natural waterfall is located on the course of the Bayehon
The Bayehon is a stream in the Belgian province of Liège that flows into the Warche.
The source of the Bayehon is located in the area of the High Fens near the Mount Signal de Botrange. The stream flows into the Warche (left), just below Reinhardstein Castle, near Robertville. The stream has a waterfall that is the second largest in Belgium after the Coo Falls.
