【Japan 1minute Travel KYOTO Maizuru】 京都 舞鶴（五老ケ岳山頂からの朝の眺め）
ここは、京都の北東部に位置する舞鶴。
晩秋から早春ぐらいまで雲海がよく発生します。
舞鶴で雲海を見たいと思えば間違いなく五老ヶ岳の山頂です。
市内から車で20分も走れば到着します。
五老スカイタワーからは３６０度の絶景パノラマが見えると思いますが、早朝は営業していないので頂上広場からの眺めとなります。
それでも十分に楽しめます。
晴れていればこんな感じです。
こんな赤く焼けた朝も大好きですが、夜明け前のブルージーな世界も何とも言えない美しさがあります。
心が奥へ奥へと引き込まれるような気がします。
一瞬の青い世界って本当に美しいですね。
日本の絶景、美しき日本がここにもあります。

Sakura in Kyoraku Park, Maizuru City
These cherry blossom trees are an important symbol of Japan and the United States' friendship and peace. In Kyoraku Park these trees are called Aloha Sakura, because they were a gift from Mr. Takaki. Mr. Fujio Takaki was a second generation Japanese-American from Hawaii.
After World War II, Maizuru was occupied by the US Army. Mr. Fujio Takaki, was stationed in Maizuru and it was a sad place after the War, much like many other Japanese cities.
Mr. Takaki came up with the idea of buying cherry blossom trees for the city. He hoped that the trees would bring happiness and hope to the people of Maizuru.
Mr. Takaki never saw the planting of the trees in Maizuru, because he was assigned to another area of operations. However, in 1994 he was invited back to Maizuru to see how the trees had grown.
Fujio Takaki had never told anyone about his involvement with the cherry trees after the war. He did not want the recognition. All he wanted was to bring smiles to the people of Maizuru. Sadly, Mr. Takaki passed away in 2004.
Maizuru, sadly, does not offer any information about the Aloha Sakura in English.

Birthplace of Japanese Sushi, Maizuru Kyoto
In ancient times, part of Maizuru City was included in Region of Wakasa and supplied ingredients for meals lined up on the emperor's dining table. There is a record, excavated from the site of Heijokyo, the capital of Nara, that sushi was presented from the area including the present Maizuru city about 1300 years ago, and which is considered to be the oldest material regarding sushi in Japan. Thus, Maizuru, which can be called the birthplace of Japanese sushi, is known as a place rich in fish and shellfish.

Spring 2023 Fukuoka Day 5| Cherry Blossom Garden Maizuru Park, Yakinikulike Tenjin & Departure Day
Our first spring trip has now come to an end.
We checked out early and left our luggage at the lobby of the airbnb so we can still go around without our big luggages.
Of course, we wanted to soak in the cherry blossom experience even on our last day so we went back to Maizuru Park to say bye bye to the Sakura.
Last lunch at Fukuoka, we tried Yakinikulike in Tenjin and it was amazing! Must try!
After the Sayonara Sakura and eating, we explored the streets of Tenkjin and even went to Donki Tenjin to buy the famous cheese bake.
Finally, went back to the airbnb to pick up the luggage and before going straight to the airport, we bought our dinner and a few snacks from the konbini since we read that there was no stores open at the airport yet. True enough, the establishments are still closed, good thing we have our baon.
This was an amazing 6 day adventure, thank you for coming with us!
