The current longest tramway in the world, runs along the Belgian coast. Between Knokke, not far away from the Dutch border to De Panne, not far away from the French border with stops in for example Zeebrugge, Blankenberge, De Haan, Bredene, Oostende, Middelkerke, Westende, Nieuwpoort & Koksijde. A unique way of transportation and a great way to discover the Belgian coast.

De hele vaarroute van onze tocht door België:
Wij zijn Pieter en Marieke en sinds 2015 varen we met onze motorboot de Canicula door Nederland. Tijdens onze eerste vaartocht door Overijssel vallen we van de ene verbazing in de andere. Over de imposante bebouwing van Vollenhove, de massieve zeesluis van Blokzijl, het dijkdorp Kuinre. Geweldig! Inmiddels zijn we bijna heel Nederland door gevaren. Om iedereen te laten zien hoe mooi Nederland is vanaf het water, maken we video's van onze vaartochten en schrijven we artikelen over wat we allemaal tegenkomen onderweg. De Canicula is een St. Tropez cabincruiser van negen meter lang, tachtig centimeter diep en ruim twee meter hoog.

Restaurant in gîte le Pré en Bulles Merbes-le-Château val de Sambre Belgium Wallonia
Vincent and Ling invite you to discover their gîte and restaurant located in Merbes-le-Château, in the Haute Sambre region of Wallonia (Belgium).
The establishment offers rooms, a large capacity gîte and a caravan.
In summer, heated swimming pool. Beautiful view on the countryside.
As for the restaurant, the Pré en Bulles has been awarded the Table de terroir label, as they offer products from their farm or from local producers.
They also offer local products to take away, 24 hours a day thanks to a vending machine in the car park.
Le Pré en Bulles is located in the tourist region of the Haute Sambre, a stone's throw from the French border, with many possibilities for walks and sites to discover. Not far from Binche, Thuin, Lobbes, the Centre region with its ancient and modern canals and lifts,...

Bern Steam Tram No 12 - City Tour - 18/08/19
Another most enjoyable excursion during The Swiss Bernese Oberland Rail tour organised by The Railway Touring Company took place on the Sunday morning of 18th August when Bern Steam Tram No 12 with trailer car (No 31) was chartered for a two hour tour of the city tramway network. No 12 and her sister Steam tram No 18 had worked the Bern network until being replaced by electric traction in the early years of the 20th Century. No 18 and trailer car (No 26) is housed in the Swiss Transport Museum in Lucerne. No 12 had been for many years a static open air exhibit outside Techorama, the Swiss Science Centre in Winterthur. From 1994, No 12 was extensively refurbished by a group of volunteers in Bern and returned to steam in 2002.

All Aboard For The Belgian Steam Gala 2018 At Mariembourg and Treignes Part 1
The date is Saturday 22nd September 2018 and we were invited by some Belgian friends to stay with them and go to the annual Festival Vapeur/Stoomfestival. ( everything is in dual text Walloonish French and Flemish Dutch). So after a sorrowful day visiting the Somme War Grave sites in nearby France the day before, we had a day of escapism in the Ardennes.
We start Part 1 at Mariembourg station which is the 3 Valleys junction. It has an engine shed in working order which houses some on- going projects. The preserved line travels roughly east for 10 miles to Treignes where there is a vast Museum containing many locos both steam and electric/diesel. In this film we see 0-6-0T AD05, 0-6-0T Tkh 5387 ( a bit like a USA T) and the wonderful Polish 2-8-2T Tkt 48 87 - painted in the wonderfully named shade of Fantasy Blue! You may notice the lack of orange Hi Viz , steel spikes, barbed wire, H & S policy documents floating around - because the Belgians kind of like being laid - back, almost Hygge . I include a brief shot of the fabulous Green Pacific in the Museum - there are some YT films of this loco in action in the 90's but it was crippled by leakages and poor steaming so its's in the museum. Also the derelict Giesl - ejector chimneyed Kriegslok in the siding .The active locos have great individual sounds and very loud whistles.ENJOY! Vive le vapeur ! Filmed on my new Panasonic HC VXF1 - not a bad internal 5.1 mic . Sorry Canon, blown you out.....
