It borders Quzhou, Jinhua and Taizhou to the north, Wenzhou to the southeast, and the province of Fujian to the southwest. The name of the city literally means Beautiful Water, but the pronunciation of its first character is lí, not the usual lì.

Lishui, known as Shizhou in ancient times, is a prefecture-level city with the largest land area under the jurisdiction of Zhejiang Province; located in the Yangtze River Delta region, southwestern Zhejiang Province, with coordinates between 118°41′-120°26′ E and 27°25′-28°57′ N. The terrain is dominated by mesas and hills, sloping from southwest to northeast; it has one municipal district: Liandu District, seven counties: Qingtian County, Jinyun County, Suichang County, Songyang County, Yunhe County, Qingyuan County, Jingning County, and one county-level city under its jurisdiction: Longquan City. At the end of 2021, the city's registered population was 2,699,700.
Lishui is known as the Green Valley of Zhejiang, and there are 3,573 peaks above 1,000 meters above sea level in its territory. 1,929 meters above sea level in Fengyang Mountain, Longquan City, and 1,856.7 meters above sea level in Baisanzu, Qingyuan County, are the first and second highest peaks in Zhejiang Province, respectively. Lishui people belong to the Jiangzhe folk system using the Wu language, and Lishui culture belongs to the Wu-Yue culture.
In January 2005, Lishui City was named the third batch of national ecological demonstration area; in December 2009, it was named China's Excellent Tourism City and China's Excellent Ecological Tourism City successively. On December 23, 2010, the Organizing Committee of Forest Concern officially awarded Lishui the title of Forest City of Zhejiang Province. In November 2017, Lishui was awarded the title of National Civilized City.[3] In November 2018, Lishui was ranked 46th in China's prefecture-level cities' overall wellbeing index.[4] On December 12, 2018, Lishui was named as the second batch of Green Water and Green Mountain is Golden Mountain practical innovation cities. is the silver mountain of gold practice innovation base.

You can't imagine how adorable the monkeys are until you see them. Everywhere you look the monkey are playing, climbing the trees and being michievous.

Qingshui is around 1.5h far away from Sanya downtown.
This was the best place for me during my Hainan trip.
Not so many people at the beach + blue water + great hotel and nice parties at night time.
