Andaya Highway NB: Sipocot to Santa Elena
We have taken the AH26 Daet route to Sipocot on our Bicol trip so this time; we are taking Andaya Highway on the return trip. This will complete the Bicol loop covering almost all of AH26 plus the main highways around Bicol & Sorsogon.
Andaya Highway is 93 Km comparing to Daet route at 150 Km & shorter travel time by 1.5~2 hours at least so saved this on the return of the journey. This is the road mostly used by trucks & buses coming from Samar & Bicol region so the wear & tear is faster and in continuous repair in one segment or the other. It is a little difficult to overtake because one may never know what road condition on the other side is so pardon the slower speed since this is the first time we have traveled here.

RAGAY, Camarines Sur is the hometown of my Father. RAGAY is one of the municipalities in the Province of Camarines Sur It is a coastal district in BICOL REGION where it is composed of thirty-eight (38) Barangays.
RAGAY can be reached via Philippine National Railways(PNR) train,when I was young. We usually take the train from Sipocot station to Apad station. From Apad to town proper, will take you approximately 15-minutes or more.
Nowadays, transportation is very accessible. Public Utility Van(PUV) is a way to bring you to Sipocot then PUJ to RAGAY(Andaya Highway).

The Philippines is slated to go to the polls on May 9 for General elections which will see Philippine nationals cast votes across the country, and within the diaspora, to elect local councils, congress, mayors, the Vice President, and the President. This election has been the subject of much debate as Davao strongman Rodrigo Duterte emerged as the leading presidential candidate, amid ongoing controversy over his policies. The first time presidential candidate has been described as one of the country’s most contentious politicians given his vocal support for anti-crime policies, that he claims would lead to the death of 100,000 criminals over 6 months. Many polls have predicted Duterte’s victory, often placing him 12 percentage points above the next candidate, Grace Poe. Furthermore, the Philippine National Police have implemented their highest alert status in the days leading up to May 9 in an attempt to mitigate the ongoing political violence that has been experienced surrounding the elections. At least four lethal cases of electoral violence have been recorded in the last three days, with the frequency of incidents expected to increase on the day of the elections.
