If you're planning a trip to Bucharest, this video contains some recommendations of things I think you should see, do, and eat. I, however, did not watch a Bucharest travel vlog with recommendations before I went to Romania for the Foreign Voices Travelers Tour. I maybe did a total two Google searches. And you know what? It was still AWESOME. Sometimes winging it is the best option.

Visa Requirements: Depending on your nationality, you might need a visa to enter Romania. Check the specific requirements based on your country of origin before planning your trip.

WOULD YOU VISIT THIS COUNTRY? ???? Extraordinary sights that will blow your mind in Romania ????

Romania is a highly underrated European country that deserves much more attention and recognition for its truly unique sights! We're all familiar with The Bran castle or so called caste of the famous Dracula, but there are several other sights you never even imagined existed. Here are 5 of my favourite that I think are an absolute must!

1- Transfagarasan road; a masterpiece of madness
2- The Merry cemetery; a dark humoured artistic sight, a UNESCO sight on the border of Romania and Ucraine
3- Barasana monastery complex; the tallest wooden structure in Europe, a fairy tale village in the Romanian mountains
4- The Parliament in Bucharest; the world's second biggest parliament with a distinctively dark history that still reeks in the atmosphere
5- Salina Turda; a former salt mine transformed in to an amusement park and health centre for respiratory disease, a popular spot for family retreats

Did I forget any of your Romanian highlights? Let me know in the comment section below and have a lovely week!

Peles Castle Romania Visiting this BEAUTIFUL Castle in Transylvania

This time we are visiting the beautiful Peles Castle in Romania. This was our first-ever trip to Romania and WOW were we surprised at how beautiful and cheap it was. Peles Castle is incredible!
Join us in part 1 of this Romania weekend road trip.

Arriving in Bucharest we grabbed a hire car ( you could go by train) and drove the 2 hours up into the Carpathian mountains to arrive at Peles Castle.
This first stop is part of our weekend trip to Romania so make sure you check out our other videos on this region.

Pele Castle is really important in Romanian history and was the former summer residence of the Romanian royal family. Built on the wish of the first king of Romania, King Carol I it is just a stunning Castle to visit and the inside is just beautiful.
Parking is 20 Leu about £3.70. You have a 15-minute walk up into the grounds of the castle and it's not to steep if you have mobility issues.

Walking around the grounds is free but you will need a buy a ticket to go inside. A ground floor ticket is 30 Leu and both floors are 60 Leu. Make sure you do the full tour! It very worth it. Using a camera or filming is charged at another 35 Leu.

There is a second castle to visit on the grounds and this is included in your ticket. Pelisor Castle was the summer house of the last Queen of Romania and was built in the early 20th Century. The highlight of the castle is the golden room. Floor to ceiling gold. Sadly it was closed when we visited.

You will likely spend half a day seeing all the sights and grounds at the castle.
Google Map

Next time we will move on to Brasov and tour the city. Make sure you subscribe to see more.

Unusual places to see in Romania: the rock monastery of Sinca Veche

This mysterious cave in the commune of Șinca Veche bears several unofficial names: the Temple in the cave, the Monastery, the Temple of Destiny, the Temple of the Ursites, etc. But whatever the name, the origins, and purpose of this cavern in the depths remain shrouded in mystery.

In other words, it is not known who built this ancient monastery in Șinca Veche, located under a hill at the foot of the Făgăraș Mountains (between Brașov and Făgăraș, near the village of Perșani). The site is thought to be around 7000 years old. Still, historians believe the monastery was excavated sometime in the 18th century when Orthodox Christians in Transylvania were persecuted. Refusing to change their religion – Empress Maria Theresa’s order was to switch to Catholicism – the people built their own ‘church’, hidden in the cave.
