ABOUT US
We are Jed and Sandy Hall, the creators of Wanderful Revolution. Jed was born in a small town on the Eastern Shore of Virginia and Sandy was born and raised in Maryland. We met in Washington State, while serving our country in the United States Navy. After separating from military service, we both went back to school and became nurses, which ultimately led to us selling our home in 2015 and hitting the road as travel nurses working in Emergency Departments throughout the USA.

During our travels, we lived in an Airstream travel trailer and made it our goal to become debt free. At the beginning of 2020, we paid off the last of our debts and quit our jobs so we could follow our long time dream of traveling the world. Of course, COVID-19 brought us to a screeching halt. So, we decided to build out a 2019 Mercedes Sprinter van, which we plan to drive on one of the longest road trips in the world: the Pan-American highway from Alaska to the tip Argentina (and possibly beyond).

We are excited and very fortunate to be able to live this amazing lifestyle! So, we want to share it with you! Join us to check out some amazing places, go on exciting adventures, eat delicious food, and perhaps learn some tips and tricks about living full-time in a van. We hope you will join us on our Wanderful Revolution! We will see you out there and we hope we inspire you to STAY WANDERFUL!!

What To Do In Traverse City (Unsalted Edition)

We're Olivia and Nathan ????????
What To Do In Traverse City (Unsalted Edition)

This is pure Michigan! There are lots of things to do in Traverse City! If you want to get your drink on there are loads of Traverse city wineries (Mari vineyards), cideries (our favorite: Two K Farms Cidery), breweries, whiskeries (our favorite: Traverse City Whiskey Co.)...and plenty of good food, be it food trucks (our favorite: the Little Fleet) or restaurants to go along with it.

The M22 drive along the coast is a must along with the Pierce Stocking scenic drive. And when it comes to to the outdoor activities on the lake or hiking in the Sleeping Bear Dunes National Lakeshore, you can't go wrong with any choice you make. We stayed at Holiday Park RV campground and got one of the best sites we've had on this entire trip, we were right on the water! This is def Michigan at its best!! :)

The Magic of Mackinac Island, Michigan

We're Olivia and Nathan ????????
The Magic of Mackinac Island, Michigan

Mackinac Island in Michigan felt like a theme park:
- a short ferry ride is required to get there
- there are no cars allowed only horses and their carriages
- you'll find the majestic Mackinac Island Grand Hotel rivaling the imaginary Grand Budapest Hotel
- there are endless mounds of fudge (check out Joann's Fudge) and good restaurants
- you can take a dip in the crystal clear waters #unsalted with an arch rock to hike up to
You get the idea. This place has a rich history, and although this is not a travel guide per se, we do share what an action-packed day would look like on the island!

unSalted Episode 10: Islands on the Inland Sea (part 1)

Hey everybody!

We hope you enjoy part one of our Inland Seas Islands series. In this episode, we paddle our kayaks around the shores of South Manitou Island in beautiful Lake Michigan. Starting from Leland, we took the ferry across to the island, and then paddled to camp. Later on, we ventured to the above-surface wreck of the SS Francisco Morazan, a former Nazi ship, recommissioned as a merchant vessel after WWII, and wrecked off of South Manitou in the 1960's.

The camp at Weather Station is completely rugged. No running water...we had to filter from the lake, which was a new experience for us.

We also had the opportunity to try out our brand new Hammock Tents. Man, these things are COZY!
