Enjoy a jam-packed day in one of the national parks or ski at one of the largest resorts in the country. Whatever you choose you won’t be disappointed as each of these towns offers stunning views and one-of-a-kind scenery.
Some of the towns on this list are lesser known and include some hidden gems. As a local, I go off the tourist path to find some unique and scenic towns to visit and with little tourist crowds.
From skiing and snowboarding in the winter to hiking, and camping in the summer, outdoor activities are a way of life in Colorado. The Centennial State is an ideal travel destination and one of the best places to visit for outdoor pursuits in every season.

It’s a community that embraces nature, with the Lake and its 15 miles of trails and many tributaries serving as a giant playground to those who live and visit here. Many of the neighborhoods’ iconic homes were built in the 1920s by architects such as Charles Dilbeck and Clifford Hutsell, who also influenced the look of local gathering places like the Lakewood Shopping Center. This close knit community is served by several Blue Ribbon schools, and every year the annual 4th of July Parade draws generations of families to the sidewalks of Lakewood Boulevard. It’s one of the most welcoming neighborhoods in the area.

On a warm April day, we explored Detroit Avenue in Lakewood, Ohio from Sloane Avenue to W. 117th Street. Detroit has a mix of nice shops, busy restaurants, churches, and also includes a pass thru the Downtown Lakewood area.
