Historic archaeological sites, Buddhist temples, and decommissioned Air Force aircraft are just some of the attractions available. The majority of the sights can be seen on a single day, typically in the morning or afternoon, due to their proximity to one another. One of the best things to do in Fort Walton Beach is to visit John C. Beasley Park. The park features one of the finest beaches in the area, which is located on Okaloosa Island. It has beautiful white sand and is less crowded than other beaches.
Other places of interest include getting aboard the Cattywampus Catamaran. Seeing this masterpiece while at sea will no doubt be a fascinating experience. Up to 43 passengers can enjoy a cruise in the beautiful Gulf of Mexico aboard this double-hulled vessel. Another of the best things to do in Fort Walton Beach is parasailing off the shores of Fort Walton Beach. Riding a parachute behind a fast motorboat is an adrenaline rush unlike any other.
Touring the Downtown district is another incredibly rewarding thing to do in Fort Walton Beach. Downtown district is home to a thriving arts and entertainment scene and a wide variety of restaurants, cafes, and bars. Located just outside the SHENANDOAH NATIONAL PARK are the Luray Caverns. We're spending the weekend exploring one of the best things to do in the Shenandoah National Park, exploring the Luray Caverns, and taking a trip down skyline drive in Virginia.

There are nearly 4,000 caves in the Virginia, though most are on private property and accessible only to those with the training and fortitude to wiggle through tiny, dark holes in the ground. The Luray Caverns, however, are well paved and well lit; much to the appeal of tourists. And boy are there a lot of tourists! We enjoyed seeing the caverns, but it was definitely a one time deal for us. Having to wait through hoards of people just took away from the experience. If you visit the caverns, plan to go on off-peak hours.
The Luray Caverns are also open year-round and also includes a ropes course and a museum of classic cars aside from the Garden Maze.
The Garden Maze was a lot of fun and more challenging than we imagined. Made up of an acre of 8-foot-tall evergreens, this labyrinth is easy to get lost in. After about an hour of wrong turns and dead ends, we both made it through.
The Tiny House in Stardust Meadows in Harrisonburg, Va. was one of the more spacious tiny houses we stayed in, and being on a 6-acre farm we had access to see all the animals.

If you like hikes, we suggest purchasing a National Parks pass and visiting all the great hikes along the Skyline Drive and Shenandoah National Park. The highest summit in the park, Hawksbill Mountain, offers great views over the valley. It's a short hike with moderate difficulty, however, it is 1.5 miles straight uphill so you'll get a workout in.

Camping At Nutimik Provincial Campground
Retirement provides us with opportunities to travel in our Sprinter Van RV and explore different campgrounds in our region. As we navigate our Encore Years during COVID we still feel blessed to be able to experience what is around us.
