Ulm is a city in the south German state of Baden-Württemberg & one that we've had on our bucket list for quite some time! In the center of the historic old town is the huge Gothic Ulm Minster. Its steeple has views of the city and, in clear weather, the Alps! We didn't go up to the top due to construction, but the experience is highly recommended.
Germany is known for its half-timbered houses and Ulm has so many of them in the narrow alleys of the Fischerviertel. While here make sure to walk along the city wall next to the River Danube, and definitely try some Swabian food! :) It's a wonderful city and we now understand why everyone loves Ulm! :)

Prepare to get dizzy as we climb up the world's tallest church - Ulm Minster. Ulm Cathedral (Ulmer Münster) is a Lutheran church located in Ulm, Germany. It is the world's tallest church, pending the eventual completion of the Sagrada Familia in Barcelona, Spain. Ulm Minster has a steeple measuring 161.5 metres (530 ft).
Visitors to Ulm Cathedral can climb all 768 steps that lead to the top of the minster's spire. There is a fantastic panoramic view at 143 m (469 ft), giving an amazing view of of Ulm in Bavaria. On a clear day, you can see the Alps.
Today we climb up Ulm Minster, then enter inside the intricate church and see how grand it truly is!

WIE VIEL SCHWÄBISCHE ALB SCHAFFT MAN AN EINEM TAG. Das Abenteuer beginnt im Schiesszentrum Ulm. Danach geht es zum Blautopf in Blaubeuren. Die Burg Lichtenstein ist wirklich ein kleines Märchenschloss das ich dann auf dem Weg zum Schönbergturm hinter mir lassen muß. Gerade noch Schaffe ich es auf den imposanten Wackerstein um den Sonnenuntergang zu genießen.

Ulm est une ville du Bade-Wurtemberg, dans le sud de l’Allemagne, dont la plus grande partie se trouve sur la rive gauche du Danube.
Formant un ensemble urbain avec la ville de Neu-Ulm, sur la rive droite, en Bavière, la ville forme un arrondissement urbain (en allemand : Stadtkreis) à elle seule, et est le siège de l’Arrondissement d'Alb-Danube (Alb-Donau-Kreis).
Riche d’histoire et de traditions, ancienne cité impériale libre, elle est aujourd’hui un important centre économique grâce à une forte activité industrielle. Importante ville universitaire, avec une université et une Hochschule, Ulm est aussi mondialement connue pour la flèche de sa « cathédrale » qui est la plus haute du monde.
La ville d'Ulm se situe aux confluents du Danube et de deux rivières, la Blau et l’Iller. Son altitude moyenne est à 479 m (de 459 m au bord du Danube à 646 m au point le plus élevé).
La majeure partie de la ville se situe sur la rive gauche du Danube. En face, sur l’autre rive, se trouve Neu-Ulm (en français, Nouvelle Ulm), sa jumelle bavaroise, plus petite qui compte environ 50 000 habitants.
La ville par elle-même est située dans une cuvette entourée de forêts et de basses montagnes, dont certaines appartiennent au Jura souabe.
