Starting by the sea is a great choice. You can join the crowds at the Main Beach, get more privacy at Victoria or Aliso Beach, or visit the park at Treasure Island Beach. There are also plenty of options if you want to get out in nature without dipping your toes in the water. Go up to the Top of the World, go through different biomes at Crystal Cove State Park, or hike a trail at the Laguna Coast Wilderness Park.
Art is an essential part of Laguna Beach. Check out the art museum, go on the Art Walk, or see the murals along Laguna Canyon Road. You can also go downtown to browse a gallery or buy a local treasure. The history of Laguna Beach is rich and varied. #10 Take a Stroll through Heisler Park.
Located just north of Main Beach, Heisler Park offers spectacular views of the Laguna Beach coastline. Take a half-mile stroll along the paved path to see many public art pieces. You can also enjoy a picnic on the grass or a barbecue with friends.
#9 Art is Everywhere.
The City of Laguna Beach has more than 100 unique works of public art. These pieces were designed and created specifically for Laguna Beach and contribute to the life of the city. Explore the many murals, statues, benches, and other pieces as you stroll through town. Maps can be picked up at the Official Visitors Center.
#8 Ride a Trolley or Local Bus Through Town.
The City of Laguna Beach provides free open-air trolley service every Friday (4-11 p.m.), Saturday (11 a.m-11 p.m.) and Sunday (11 a.m.-8 p.m.) throughout the year from early September through late June. During the summer months, late June through early September, free trolleys run daily from 9:30 am - 11:30 pm. Download the Visit Laguna Beach app and to access a real-time Trolley Tracker.
#7 Monthly Art Walk.
Established in 1998, First Thursday's Art Walk is a festive, cultural evening on the first Thursday of every month. The event is free and runs from 6 pm-9 pm. Free trolley service runs throughout the evening, linking member gallery locations. More than 40 galleries participate, offering artist receptions, demonstrations, refreshments, and live music. The Laguna Art Museum also offers free admission during this monthly event from 5 pm-9 pm.
