Volgograd (Stalingrad) - The journey back to the Soviet Union
In this video I'll show you around Volgograd - one of the 16 Russian cities populated by more than 1.000.000 people. Volgograd is known for its Soviet history, especially for the period of the Second World War as an epicenter of the Stalingrad Battle.
Volgograd, formerly known as Stalingrad, holds a significant place in World War II history as the site of one of the deadliest and most pivotal battles of the conflict. The Battle of Stalingrad, fought between 1942 and 1943 was a brutal confrontation between the Soviet Union and Nazi Germany. The city became a symbol of resistance, endurance, and sacrifice during this intense struggle.
Today, Volgograd stands as a living testament to its wartime history. The city has preserved numerous landmarks and monuments that commemorate the sacrifices made during the Battle of Stalingrad. I'll visit not only the Mamayev Kurgan but also some less known memorials that reflect the history of the city.
These historical sites in Volgograd serve as a solemn reminder of the human cost of war and the bravery exhibited by those who fought in one of the most significant battles of World War II. The city's commitment to preserving its wartime heritage makes it a destination for those interested in understanding the profound impact of the conflict on both a local and global scale.

Pike Place Market is a public market in Seattle, Washington, United States. It opened on August 17, 1907, and is one of the oldest continuously operated public farmers' markets in the United States. Pike Place Market is Seattle's most popular tourist destination and the 33rd most visited tourist attraction in the world, with more than 10 million annual visitors.
One of the Market's major attractions is Pike Place Fish Market, where employees throw three-foot salmon and other fish to each other rather than passing them by hand. The Gum Wall is a brick wall covered in used chewing gum under Pike Place Market in Downtown Seattle. It is located on Post Alley near Pike Street, south of the market's main entrance off 1st Avenue.
The first Starbucks store, founded in 1971, was originally located at 2000 Western Avenue. In 1977 it moved one block away to 1912 Pike Place where it has been in continuous operation ever since.

Red October - Krasny Oktyabr (confectionery brand)
The company was founded by the German Theodor Ferdinand von Einem. Von Einem sold his stake in the enterprise to German Julius Heuss, who became its director in 1878, retaining the position until his death in 1907. In 1896, the Einem factory won a gold medal at the All-Russian Industrial and Artistic Exhibition, and it was allowed to supply confectionery to the court of the tsar.
At the turn of the 20th century, the Einem factory won chocolatiers' competitions across Europe, and its advertising was displayed prominently in Moscow. After the October Revolution of 1917, the company was nationalized and given its current name.[5] During World War II, the factory reoriented its production towards the manufacturing of military rations, including high-caffeine chocolate.
After the dissolution of the Soviet Union, the company continued to use the Krasny Oktyabr name for its brand recognition, but it began to decorate the boxes and labels with Tsarist-era motifs. Krasny Oktyabr was privatised in 1993. In the 1990s, it became one of the few large business concerns in Moscow to be privatized successfully. At the same time, it had to compete with foreign companies such as Mars Inc.
Former factory building of the Red October confectionery
The production site of Krasny Oktyabr was formerly located on the Moskva River embankment, a couple of kilometers from the Kremlin. The plant was relocated to the outskirts of Moscow in 2007, and the famous red-brick factory was redeveloped into apartment complexes, cafes, and restaurants.
The development hosts art and photo galleries and designer studios, being described as Moscow’s answer to New York’s Tribeca. Among the organizations to make use of the former factory site are the Strelka Institute, the Baibakov Art Projects, the Moscow Biennale (in 2009), and the Lumiere Brothers Center for Photography.

We recorded this 4k ultra hd 60fps video while walking along Pionerskaya Street in Saint Petersburg (Russia) on Aptekarsky Island on January 31, 2021. St. Petersburg, the second largest city in Russia, is best known as the European cultural capital of great architecture and art.
Our walking tour along Pionerskaya Street is about 1 km in length, starting from the Admiral Lazarev Embankment, ending at Maly Prospekt on the Petrogradskaya Side of the Aptekarsky Island and covering most of the attractions of Pionerskaya Street and historical sites. The name Pionerskaya Street was given in honor of the first pioneer detachment. This detachment was organized in January 1923 by the Komsomol members of the Krasnoye Znamya factory.
