Kamikochi is a scenic valley in Nagano Prefecture, on an altitude of about 1,500 meters above sea level. It is a part of Chubu Sangaku National Park and located in between the popular tourist cities of Matsumoto and Takayama. The spectacular hiking route on the flat area along the Azusa river is about 4 km long. You can enjoy the walk from Taisho Pond to the Kappa Bridge, the symbol of Kamikochi, with only two 2 hours. But believe me, everywhere you look is so beautiful that you wish to stay there forever!

日本有数の火山地帯である上信越高原国立公園。その名の通り群馬・長野・新潟の各県にまたがる一帯は、活火山である浅間山、白根山をはじめとした標高2000m級の火山が連なっています。
同公園の南端部、浅間山を中心として東西に連なる山域は「浅間連峰」または「浅間烏帽子火山群」と呼ばれています。山上からの雄大な景色、豊富な高山植物、天然カラマツの美しい黄葉、冬は良質なパウダースノーと、年間を通して自然を楽しむことができます。
この山域の鞍部にある車坂峠を越える道は、北国街道と大笹街道をつなぐ裏街道として古くから使われてきました。高峰高原と称される峠一帯は1950年代から観光開発が始まり、1957年に小諸市街から車坂峠まで有料の森林組合林道が開通、高峰温泉や市営の国民宿舎（現在の高峰高原ホテル）などが建設され、昭和の”観光ブーム”に乗り多くの来訪者で賑わうようになりました。
未舗装の有料林道はゴロゴロした火山の噴出物で大変な悪路であったそうですが、1980年代に小諸市により道路改良が行われました。沿道に400本の桜が植えられたことから「チェリーパークライン」の愛称が付けられています。なお、未舗装時代の峠道を走る国鉄バスの貴重な写真が、JRバス関東のFacebookページで公開されています。
今回は、小諸駅前から高峰高原アサマ2000パーク（スキー場）付近まで収録しました。強い冬型の気圧配置となったこの日、麓の小諸市街は晴れ間も見える天気でしたが、山の上は吹雪となっていました。ちなみに、標高1973mの車坂峠は冬期に車で行くことができる日本最高地点であると思われます（もし違っていたらご教示下さい）。

千曲ビューラインは、小諸市から上田市に至る、千曲川左岸の台地上を走る道の愛称です。「千曲川左岸広域農道」として建設されましたが、現在は各市の市道に認定されています。
路線愛称の元になった千曲川は当路線の車窓からはほとんど見えません。しかし、小諸市から東御市にかけての御牧原台地を走る区間にはアップダウンを繰り返す直線区間があり、さながら北海道を思わせる風景が広がります。
全区間2車線の走りやすい快走路です。東御市内は右左折を繰り返すためやや分かりにくいルートとなっていますが、各交点には道路名標識が設置されています。
交通量はそれほど多くはなく、主に沿線住民の生活幹線道路としての要素が強い道です。小諸・佐久方面から上田方面に向かう抜け道としても利用できます。
2020年8月に一部区間を収録済みですが、今回、紅葉美しいの秋晴れの日に全区間4Kにて再収録しました。

軽井沢の隣に位置し、近年人口が急増している御代田町。大東建託がまとめた長野県内の「住み心地ランキング」において、今年2021年に初の1位を獲得したことで、更に人気に拍車がかかっています。
人気の要因は、まず第一に交通の利便性にあります。当地は古くから交通の要衝として知られており、江戸期には中仙道と北国街道が走り宿場もありました。明治に入ってからは東京と長野を結ぶ鉄道（信越線）が開通し御代田駅が設置され、現在は新幹線と高速道路が通過、新幹線駅やインターは町内には無いものの至近に位置し、アクセスは良好です。
御代田町を走る主な一般道は、国道18号を筆頭として、その北側に浅間サンライン（県道小諸軽井沢線）、南側に今回収録した県道借宿小諸線があります。
本路線は国道の裏道的な存在として、交通量も比較的多い状況です。近年は道路改良により一部区間を除き2車線の快走路に生まれ変わりました。人口増加に伴い宅地の開発も進み、あわせて商業施設も充実しつつあります。本年11月には本路線沿いに新しい郵便局が開局する予定で、純粋な新規の開局としては長野県内では約20年振りとのことです。
今回は、終点の小諸市柏木四ツ谷交差点から、起点の軽井沢町追分まで現道全区間を収録しました。

今回は、STARRACE KOMOROで絶景を眺めがらランチを頂きました。高台の公園の中にレストランがあるので浅間山やお天気が良いと遠くに富士山も見えます。
布引観音は、外からは見えないので上まで登る必要がありますが、なかなか素晴らしい景色を見れました！

御牧原（みまきはら）は、小諸市・佐久市・東御市にまたがる東西約5km、南北約6kmの台地です。「御牧ケ原」とも呼ばれます。
千曲川とその支流鹿曲川・布施川に囲まれた三角状の洪積台地で、周囲は断崖に囲まれています。
この地形的特徴を利用して、平安時代から鎌倉時代の初めまで、約400年にわたって朝廷の料馬を養成した牧場「望月牧」がありました。”御牧”と呼ばれた御料牧場は関東甲信地方に二十三牧ありましたが、この望月牧は優秀な馬の産地として知られていました。
馬は放し飼いで飼育され、逃走防止のため、断崖によって自然の柵をなしている部分を除き「野馬除」と呼ばれる土堤が築かれました。現在も各所にその遺構が残され、文化財に指定されています。
今回は、この御牧原の中心部を南北に貫く道から、急峻な段丘崖を下って千曲川を渡り、小諸駅前まで走ってみました。薄曇りのすっきりしない天気でしたが、名馬が駆けた悠久の”台地”に思いをはせながらのドライブでした。
