Northern Ontario Road Trip: Temagami, Cobalt, and Haileybury
In this video I share the highlights of my Ontario road trip to Temagami, Cobalt, and Haileybury.
Temagami is definitely the gateway to the North and an ideal location for exploring near-north Ontario. It's easily accessible from North Bay and offers plenty of options for camping, hiking, and exploring some lovely Ontario forests and back roads.
Cobalt is the main stop on the Silver Heritage Trail and one of the most interesting National Historic Sites in Canada. It's an old mining town with lots of well-preserved history and cool areas to explore.
Further North is Temiskaming Shores with the lovely town of Haileybury as one of its highlights. This is a great place to stop and relax while being a great location for exploring Lake Temiskaming.

Trip to get Groceries. From Tweedsmuir Rd right to Goodfish Rd left on Duncan Ave then right on Water Lane, right on Government Rd. unto Giant Tiger. Exit Giant Tiger and cross over to Independant Groceries. Leave Independant turn right on Government Rd, then right on Main Street. Go to Queen Street then turn right on Premier Ave. Enter sister's house. Com out of driveway back to Premier, then right on Prospect up to O'meara Boulevard. Stop for Firetruck. Turn left on Duncan Ave, then right on Government Rd back to Tweedsmuir and home. Thanks for watching. By the way this was filmed on April 4th, 2022 and look at the snowbanks.

The Toburn Gold Mine in Kirkland Lake, Ontario
The Toburn Gold Mine Property is a free, self-guided mine museum at the east entrance to Kirkland Lake. Operating for more than 40 years, this mine has a great local historical significance.
The Toburn was the first operating mine in the Kirkland Lake camp. The Northern Prospectors Association acquired the property from the Crown and entered into an agreement with the Town to operate the site under the auspices of a volunteer committee known as the Toburn Operating Authority.
There are five buildings on the site: the hoistroom, headframe and compressor room contain displays and form part of the guided and self-guided tours.
The Toburn Gold Mine is a great place to visit and one of the most interesting things to do in Kirkland Lake. I'd definitely recommend checking it out if you're interested in local Ontario history.
