City in Germany
Aachen is a spa city near Germany’s borders with Belgium and the Netherlands. Aachen Cathedral was founded around 800 A.D. and a Gothic chancel was added later.
Its Domschatzkammer (treasury) has medieval artifacts including the shrine of Charlemagne, who was buried here in 814 A.D. Nearby is the baroque town hall, Aachener Rathaus, with 19th-century frescoes. Sulfurous water fills the fountains of Elisenbrunnen.

Aachen in 5 minutes ???? Aachen Cathedral, Printen & Tri-border area
Aachen is one of our top 10 cities in Germany and worth a visit. Aachen Cathedral is world-famous. And so are the tasty Printen. Aachen is located at the border triangle of Belgium, the Netherlands and Germany. Because of this location, you can feel Europe everywhere you go. We are theTravellers and show you Aachen in 5 minutes.
We start our Aachen tour at the city hall. It's worth taking a look inside. We continue to the Centre Charlemange city museum. On the way through the old town we eat some Printen. We pass the Elisenbrunnen - another landmark of Aachen. A little further out of town is the Lousberg. From here you have a view of the city from above.
If you're in Aachen for the weekend or even longer, e.g. for ERASMUS at rwth Aachen, it's worth taking a day trip to Monschau and the border triangle.

Bilzen es una pequeña ciudad Belga de la provincia de Limburgo que se encuentra entre Hasselt y Maastricht. Los hallazgos arqueológicos de la época prehistórica y romana confirman un asentamiento temprano en esta región. La ciudad fue reconocida como tal a mediados del siglo XIII y fue también en esa época que se fundó un beaterio a lo largo del rio Demer. Además, la ciudad pasó a formar parte del Principado de Lieja en 1366. Finalmente, aunque haya sido objeto de reiteradas destrucciones a lo largo de su historia hoy en día posee un acogedor centro histórico. Daneben entdeckt Lisa Kestel auf ihrem Rundgang aber auch Thermalquellen, Printenbäcker, Studentenkneipen und viele andere wunderschöne Ecken. Sie beendet den Ausflug im Stadtwald mit einem Begleiter auf vier Hufen.

Aachen has been around for millennia. The Romans nursed their war wounds and stiff joints in the steaming waters of its mineral springs, but it was Charlemagne who put the city firmly on the European map. The emperor, too, enjoyed a dip now and then, but it was more for strategic reasons that he made Aachen the geographical and political capital of his vast Frankish Empire in 974 – arguably the first empire with European dimensions.
