Join travelgurutv's Cathy Bartrop on a tour of Papua New Guinea, the 'last frontier' for pioneering travel. Cathy's journey takes her to the Tari Valley in the Southern Highlands where she meets up with the famous Huli Wigmen. From there its on to the Western Highlands and encounters with the Polga Mudmen and Melpa people. In contrast to the rainforest covered interior, the second part of her journey is a cruise to some of PNG's smaller, more remote islands with stops at Fergusson Island, Kitawa Island and Rabaul

MAP OF PAPUA NEW GUINEA

hello my friends. this is a map of Papua new guinea. The mainland of the country is the eastern half of New Guinea island, where the largest towns are also located, including Port Moresby, (the capital) , and Lae; other major islands within Papua New Guinea include New Ireland, New Britain, Manus and Bougainville.

Located north of the Australian mainland, the country's geography is diverse and, in places, extremely rugged. A spine of mountains, the New Guinea Highlands, runs the length of the island of New Guinea, forming a populous highlands region mostly covered with tropical rainforest, and the long Papuan Peninsula, known as the 'Bird's Tail'. Dense rainforests can be found in the lowland and coastal areas as well as very large wetland areas surrounding the Sepik and Fly rivers. This terrain has made it difficult for the country to develop transportation infrastructure. This has made it so that air travel is often the most efficient and reliable means of transportation. The highest peak is Mount Wilhelm at 4,509 metres. Papua New Guinea is surrounded by coral reefs which are under close watch, in the interests of preservation. Papua New Guinea's largest rivers are in New Guinea and include Sepik, Ramu, Markham, Musa, Purari, Kikori, Turama, Wawoi and Fly. thats all. please comment and subscribe for the best maps. goodbye.

#papua #papuaindonesia #papuanewguinea #mapschool #mapsolo #petamap #cartemap #mapamap #kartemap

Best Swimming Spot in Kimbe West New Britain Province Papua New Guinea tourist attractions

Klin Wara is under 30 minutes from Kimbe Town West New Britain Province. Clean Water (Klin Wara in Tok Pisin) is probably the best swimming Spot near Kimbe.

Intro

Clear shallow water and rapid water flowing through the ampco bridge are ideal for both newbies and seasoned swimmers. The water is knee-high all around, with a 2 m deep centre.

If you do not know how to swim, you can relax and paddle in the shallows. For the seasoned swimmers, the current is perfect for a real workout if you are going to give it a good go swimming against it.

Heard some top PNG swimmers have visited the Klin Wara for swimming practice.

Getting there
The best way to get there is through an organised trip. Many hotels and lodges around Kimbe Town can arranged for a group trip. They have contacts and good relationships with the locals.

But if you want to get there by yourself, the turnoff is just before Bialla Junction coming from Kimbe. It's about 2 minutes down the feeder/plantation road.

When you arrive, call the local landowner's house near the river and ask for permission to use the rivers. They may charge a fee.

Plenty of space for cars and BBQ. As mentioned, seek approval from the LOs before using the area. And, remember to take your rubbish back with you.

We enjoyed the river on our last visit and hope to return to this beautiful part of Kimbe/WNBP.

Kimbe Bay, Papua New Guinea

The coral reefs around Walindi are extraordinarily rich. A recent coral count of Kimbe Bay revealed an incredible 413 species of hard coral. This is over half the total world species in one Bay, a truly remarkable statistic which makes Kimbe Bay the Coral Capital of the World. Over 900 species of fish have been recorded and this number will continue to grow as more research is done.

Kimbe Bay can be accessed from Walindi Resort and the liveaboard MV FeBrina.

MV FeBrina: Witu Islands, Kimbe Bay, Papua New Guinea

Video by John Boyle.

Witu Islands, to the north west of Kimbe Bay, are a remote group of islands with a wide variety of dive types to visit. The islands and reef are of volcanic origin and rise from very deep water. Garove Harbour is actually a submerged volcanic crater. Nutrient rich currents frequently waft across most reefs and as a result there is a profusion of life. Schools of pelagic fishes abound on the world renowned Lama Shoals, a sea mount rising to within 15 feet of the surface from the surrounding deep waters.

The Witu Islands are accessed by the liveaboard MV FeBrina based at Walindi Resort in Kimbe Bay, Papua New Guinea.
