Sichuan Province is located in South West China. Its capital is Chengdu, a mega city that is famous for its hot and spicy food. Chengdu lies in the fertile Sichuan Basin. Ancient civilisations flourished here dating back over 3000 years. Today you can get glimpses into this past by visiting world class museums at Jinsha and Sanxingdui. Western Sichuan is like another world. with its towering mountains and Tibetan culture. Jiuzhaigou in the north is arguably the most beautiful place in China. Shangli Ancient Village - A Special Place in Sichuan
Shangli, Sichuan, China - it's not frequented by western tourists much, but Chinese tourist flow in and out of the small riverside village, stopping to buy local specialties and to sip tea in an almost perfect atmosphere. The village was once a starting point for coolies carrying loads of tea to Tibet. It was also a stop for the Red Army while walking the Long March, a fact that's supported by the carvings that can be seen on stone tablets in Shangli.
Many of China's ancient towns feel too fixed up, too renovated. Shangli does not. It's charm and it's natural setting makes it a perfect stopover before heading to the Bifeng Panda base or the gateway to Tibet, Kangding (

Aerial China: Chengdu, Sichuan四川成都A city that I don't want to leave when I come
Chengdu, abbreviated as Rong, also known as Rongcheng and Jincheng, is a prefecture-level city under the jurisdiction of Sichuan Province. It is the capital of Sichuan Province, a sub-provincial city, a megacity, and the core city of the Chengdu-Chongqing dual-city economic circle. It is the western region of China approved by the State Council. Important central cities, important national high-tech industrial bases, trade and logistics centers and comprehensive transportation hubs. As of 2019, the city has 12 municipal districts, 3 counties, and 5 county-level cities under its jurisdiction, with a total area of 14,335 square kilometers. As of 0:00 on November 1, 2020, Chengdu has a permanent population of 20,937,757 people.
Chengdu is located in Southwest China, the western Sichuan Basin, and the hinterland of the Chengdu Plain. It has a flat terrain, vertical and horizontal river networks, rich products, and developed agriculture. It has a humid subtropical monsoon climate and has been known as the country of abundance since ancient times.
Chengdu is the country's top ten ancient capitals, the first batch of national historical and cultural cities, and the birthplace of ancient Shu civilization. The Jinsha site in the territory has a history of 3,000 years. The King of Zhou called Chengdu as a gathering in one year, a city in two years, and a Chengdu in three years; the Shuhan, Chenghan, Qianshu, and Houshu governments established their capitals here successively; It has always been the prefecture and county administration of various dynasties; Han is one of the five largest cities in the country; Tang is one of the most developed industrial and commercial cities in China, historically known as Yangyiyiyi; Northern Song Dynasty is the second largest city outside Bianjing, and the invention is the second largest in the world. Kangding City, located in Garze Prefecture in western Sichuan, is an important town at the intersection of Sichuan and Tibet. The area I walked was the old town of Kangding. The small town is surrounded by mountains and has a river running through it. Various buildings with rich ethnic styles are scattered on both sides of the river in an orderly manner, making the place rich in plateau ethnic customs.

Don't be fooled by its modern looks. The town has a rich history of more than 2,300 years. But the main Chengdu’s tourist attraction is the Giant Pandas.
Research Base of Giant Panda Breeding is a must-go place. A huge nature reserve is located 10 kilometers from downtown and is the best place to familiarize with China's national symbol. In the morning you can see the Pandas enjoying their breakfast. As they are often found sleeping, pandas are the liveliest during this morning activity. You even have the unique opportunity to see incredibly adorable young pandas.
Visit the exquisite Anshun Bridge crossing the Jin River. The origins of this version of the bridge date back to the 18th century. Its even older predecessor was described by Marco Polo on his travels. The current bridge has been reconstructed after devastating floods. This stunning piece of architecture has even its restaurant. This place is sought after not only for sensational Sichuan cuisine but also for charming views, especially at night.
If you are a lover of nature and history, then visit the amazing Leshan Giant Buddha - the tallest and largest Buddha in the world. The huge statue was carved into the side of the Lingyun Mountain more than 1,300 years ago. It is a whopping 71 meters long. This breathtaking place is less than 2 hours away by car from Chengdu and around there you can find other great attractions.
Located close to the Leshan Giant Buddha is Mount Emei. To explore this 3,099 meters tall Mountain, you will need the whole day. It is one of the four most divine Buddhism Mountains in China. There are several Buddhist temples but do not miss Golden Summit with majestic views on top of the mountain. The temple is also very popular among Buddhists and pilgrims in China. In the vicinity of the temple, there is a 48-meter-high golden Buddha statue, which has a unique head with faces turned in ten directions. But don't forget to dress well on the trip. The average temperature here during the hottest period is around 12 degrees centigrade.
While visiting Chengdu, do not forget to taste a traditional Sichuan dish called Hotpot, which is a local delicacy.

Follow me on this short Documentary style short-film where i take a 1900 km long road-trip through one of China's most beautiful and largest Province. QINGHAI! A province which, for most of its area, lies above 3000 meter sea level. During the trip we made over 10.000 meter in altitude Difference, drove for hours along the most beautiful scenery i had ever seen and came to our limits by accenting to the highest point i had ever been before at almost 5000 meter height with our car.
