In this video you are going to find out where to visit and what to do in Slovenia. In this video, we advice you the best hiking places, best places to visit and best activities that you can do with your family during your visit in Slovenia.

10 Best Things To Do In Slovenia
Lake Bled

Lake Bled is one of the biggest Slovenia attractions, making it a must-see during your visit. Every year thousands of people are attracted to the giant azure lake and the quaint island which sits in the center.

Hidden away in the Alps, Lake Bled looks like it was ripped straight from the pages of a fairytale book. Surrounded by rocky mountains, medieval castles, and lush forests, this spot is so beautiful that you’ll never want to leave!

Ljubljana

One of the best things to do in Slovenia is to explore the Old Town in Ljubljana. Whether you’ve never visited the place before or you can’t keep away, you’ll always stumble upon something new and interesting in Ljubljana Old Town.

The historic beating heart of Slovenia, Ljubljana Old Town is where you’ll find meandering canals which work their way under rustic stone bridges, picturesque homes next to Gothic cathedrals, and charming plazas lined with open-air cafes.

Lake Bohinj

Lake Bohinj is one of the best places in Slovenia to try out different water sports and find out which is the one for you. Hidden away at the foot of the Bohinj Valley in the Julian Alps, this enormous lake is crystal-clear and perfectly still, making it the ideal place to enjoy a number of different sports.

Around the lake, you’ll find several kiosks where you can rent everything from kayaks and canoes to paddleboards and boats. If you’d rather take things a little easier, you can always just get in the lake and enjoy a cool swim.

Soča River

Zooming over rapids down the Soca River on a raft is one of the most exhilarating things you can do during your vacation in Slovenia. Whether you want to push yourself to the limit and try the most challenging route or get started with something a little simpler, you’ll find the perfect white water rafting tour for you.

The Soča River is an incredibly beautiful place to practice this sport. The deep turquoise color of the water, the steep canyon walls that rise up either side, and the thick, towering trees make this one of the most gorgeous places in all of Slovenia.

Kranjska Gora
Kranjska Gora is an attractive mountain and tourist sports centre throughout the year. In the winter it sees Alpine skiers compete and top ski jumpers break new records at the near-by Planica. Cyclists endeavour to conquer the highest Slovenian mountain pass, and hikers can stop by many points of interest.

Postojna Cave

Postojna Cave is the best-known cave in the world. It is also the greatest tourist attraction in Slovenia and one of the world's largest karst monuments. A fantastic web of tunnels, passages, galleries and halls, the astonishing diversity of Karst features as well as easy access are certainly the main reasons for such popularity of the cave and a large number of visitors. Check the timetable of visits by months.

Vintgar Gorge
Vintgar Gorge, carved by Radovna River, is located near Gorje, approximately 4 kilometres north-west from Bled. The 1.6-kilometre long gorge is carved amidst the glorious vertical walls of Hom and Boršt hills, and it is highlighted by the Radovna River and its waterfalls, pools and rapids.

Piran is the most beautiful medieval town on the Slovenian coast. It is located on a headland in the southwest corner of Slovenia.
Piran was first settled during the days of the Roman empire. The town was part of the Republic of Venice from the 13th to the end of the 18th century when it was annexed to the Austrian Empire. The old port town with remnants of a medieval wall is protected as a cultural and historical monument. It consists of a main square, a harbour filled with fishing boats, a jetty and a promenade lined with restaurants. Piran is surrounded by beautiful nature. Long, wide paths trace the coast from north to south and are ideal for walking or cycling.

Koper Slovenia | Best things to do and see in Koper

Koper Slovenia | Best things to do and see in Koper

Koper is the largest coastal city in Slovenia, and behind its harbour hides a marvellous medieval old town, which was once an island. Its Venetian-style houses, the romance of its small squares, the boats rocking in the harbour and the Italian atmosphere that pervades everything make this city the only port city in Slovenia and an important industrial and business centre. Koper was part of the Venetian Republic for over five centuries, which is visible in the town’s architecture.
In addition to Koper’s attractive cobblestone streets, squares, cosy cafés, restaurants and grilled seafood, an abundance of different architectural styles, is on display here, including Baroque, Gothic, Renaissance and Venetian. Wandering the old town will only take a few hours so you can pair Koper with another nearby activity.
Best things to do and see in Koper:
1. Muda Gate (Vrata Muda)
2. Prešeren Square (Prešernov trg)
3. Čevljarska Street (Čevljarska ulica)
5. Tito Square (Titov trg)
6. Praetorian Palace (Pretorska palača)
7. Armory and Foresteria Palace (Foresteria in Armeria)
8. Loggia Palace (Loža)
9. Cathedral of the Assumption of Mary (Stolnica Marijinega vnebovzetja)
10. Carpaccio Square (Carpacciov trg)
11. Koper beaches (Koper plaže)
12. Verdi Street (Verdijeva ulica)
13. Župančičeva Street (Župančičeva ulica)
14. Belgramoni Tacco Palace (Koper Regional Museum)
15. Port Street (Pristaniška ulica)

Kranj Slovenia | Things to Do on a Day Trip to Kranj

Kranj is the administrative and cultural centre of Gorenjska (Upper Carniola) region, and is also the fourth largest city in Slovenia.
The city is just 35 minutes away from Ljubljana and 25 minutes away from Lake Bled. With a mighty view of Slovenian Alps and a rich six thousand years old history, Kranj is an intriguing blend of culture, history, and nature. The old town boasts a variety of diverse sights, from religious monuments and ethnological museums to modern arts spaces. Under the historic town center there are 1300 meters of tunnels, which were built during the second World War as shelter for the people in the city. Even though Kranj is not a large city, it has a lot of various attractions to offer.
Here are a few places that are a must if you are travelling through this part of Slovenia:

1. Main Square (Mastrov Trg)
2. Plečnik stairs, arcades and fountains
3. Kokra River Gorge
4. Church of St. Cantianus and Companions
5. Pungert
6. Town Hall
7. Prešeren Theater
8. Layer House

Piran, Slovenia - Old Venetian city

Piran, the most beautiful town of Mediterranean Slovenia, grew with the help of salt. The Piran salt pans, where the world-class fleur de sel (flower of salt) is still produced today using age-old methods, were the reason why the picturesque Mediterranean walled town, with its church with a view and cultural attractions, flourished.

The old port town with remnants of a medieval wall is protected as a cultural and historical monument. Narrow streets with closely constructed houses descending from the hill and its church to the central square on the coast only emphasise its Mediterranean character.

This worldly coastal town, which developed under the influence of Venice, is considered to be one of the most authentic and most photogenic towns on the Adriatic coast. In addition to architecture, the Maritime Museum, an aquarium and, other attractions, visitors flock to this town to enjoy events, the culinary offerings, and nearby special natural features.

????AN INVITATION FOR YOU????
There is so much more to see, learn, explore, and enjoy in Slovenia! Let us be your perfect host!

Slovenia is beautiful in any time of the year but if I would need to choose the best one according to our past guests, it would be April-May and September-October. In April-May, nature is waking up and starting to become green, the temperatures are pleasant, 20-25ºC (68-77F). In September-October it is still warm but not hot anymore like in summer, those wanting to take a swim in Adriatic can still do it. The temperatures are 20-25ºC (68-77F) and the sea temperature is around 20ºC (68F). In October, the trees start to change its colours in beautiful shades of the fall.

Visit Slovenia, a country in the crossroads of Europe, surrounded with Austria, Italy, Hungary and Croatia!
