16-01-2013 : environs de Denderleeuw, direction Liedekerke...
La Dendre est constituée de deux branches mères : la Dendre occidentale, qui prend sa source près de Barry (entité de Tournai), passe par Pipaix, près de Leuze-en-Hainaut, et, Ligne (Ath), et, la Dendre orientale, qui prend sa source à Jurbise, passe par Lens, dans la province de Hainaut. Elles se réunissent à Ath pour former la Dendre canalisée. La Dendre se dirige ensuite vers le Nord.
Sa longueur est de 69 km et conflue avec l'Escaut à Termonde.
Elle était dans l'Antiquité une des limites de la partie belge de la grande Forêt charbonnière, l'autre limite étant la Nèthe.
Les 15 et 16 mai 1940, l'armée belge alignée sur l'armée française, toutes deux en retraite, livra une bataille d'arrêt contre l'armée allemande, avant de se retirer sur l'Escaut et sur la Lys.

Bienvenue à l'Hôtel - URBEX - EXPLORATION URBAINE #52
Visite d’un petit hôtel au bord de route dans un cadre paisible et naturel, il dispose d’un restaurant qui avait une bonne réputation à l’époque.
En entrant dans l’hôtel, nous avons eu directement l’accès dans la salle de restaurant ainsi que la partie privée ou malheureusement les années d’abandon se ressentent.
Nous continuons vers les cuisines toujours dans un état de délabrement, nous avons remarqués que l’hôtel disposait d’une petite ferme adjointe à l’hôtel, cela présumait les bons produits frais.
Une fois à l’étage, nous n’avons pas pu faire un pas dans ces longs couloirs sans bousculer un objet sur notre passage.
En entrant dans une chambre, on aurait dit que les clients étaient partis précipitamment...
Arrivé au deuxième étage, les chambres étaient différentes, on aurait dit des chambres pour des personnes du 3ème âge.
