Jesenice, Slovenia - 4K Virtual Walk
Jesenice, also known as a City of Steel and daffodils, is a town on the southern side of the Karawanks, bordering Austria to the north. It has a history of mining and iron-making industry (this was the driving force of the town's development). Its largest steel company is Acroni.
When you visit Jesenice you cannot miss the old centre, where the mansion, the church, the residential house for workers, the furnace and other facilities, the millpond, and the mill now form a coherent unit for the museum, cultural and tourist activities.
You have probably heard of Anže Kopitar? Anže was born in Jesenice and played junior hockey for his hometown team HK Acroni Jesenice. Today, he is a professional ice hockey player and a captain for the Los Angeles Kings of the National Hockey League (NHL). We are very proud to see him play with other big names on the TV!
Around 3 miles (5 kilometers) north of Jesenice is located Planina pod Golico, which is an amazing tourist attraction. In the springtime, this location is truly magical since there are numerous daffodils in full bloom.
The walk starts close to the Jesenice Railway Station and continues towards Gimanzija Jesenice (Jesenice Secondary School). Enjoy! :)

BLED
is situated on the southern foot of the Karawanks mountain range close to the boundary with Austria, around 50 km (31 mi) northwest of the public capital of Ljubljana. South of Lake Bled are the thickly forested Pokljuka and Jelovica levels and the easternmost pieces of the Julian Alps, where the Sava Bohinjka waterway and the equal Bohinj Railway lead to the Bohinj bowl, Lake Bohinj, and the Triglav massif.
Various ascents (Grad 599 m, Straža 646 m, Kozarca 558 m, Osojnica 756 m, and Ravnica 729 m) separate the areas of Bled around the lake, the previous towns of Grad, Mlino, Rečica, Zagorice, and Želeče.
The lake is 2.12 kilometers (1.32 mi) long and 0.5 to 1 kilometer (0.31 to 0.62 mi) wide. In summer, the surface water arrives at 25 °C (77 °F) and holds a temperature up to 18 °C (64 °F) until fall. ZELENCI
