Japan's Least Populated Prefecture | Tottori Prefecture Travel Guide
Tottori Prefecture is a hidden gem of Japan and an off the beaten path place to visit but it's definitely one of my top 3 favourite prefectures in Japan!!! I can't wait to share with you what I did in Tottori Prefecture in 4 days and just how underrated this place is.... :(
You can get to Tottori easily via direct flights from Tokyo(Haneda or Narita Airport), direct buses depart from all over Japan's major cities and of course you can take the limited express train (Super Hakuta) from many areas such as Kyoto and Osaka.

Along my journey to the sand dunes of Tottori prefecture, my first stop was one of the top three most famous views of the country. Now finally making it to the goal, it's time to explore the beautiful sand dunes of Tottori!
A Japanese inn with private hot spring, an Okinawa bar, beautiful sand dunes, a camel ride and an intricately carved sand museum are some of the sights we will see on this conclusion to the Journey to Tottori series!

Learn about Marine Activities at San’in Kaigan Global Geopark Uradome Coast（Iwai、Tottori）
If you like a superb view, you should go to Uradome Coast in Tottri Prefecture.The dynamic coastline scenery carved by the rough waves of the Sea of Japan is truly spectacular.Here, you can enjoy as if you were taking a walk on the sea.
What is a Geopark?
A geopark is a large-scale park area that teaches us new things about the world we live in.
The San‘in kaigan Geopark is centered around San’in kaigan National Park, from Kyotango City in Kyoto Prefecture in the east to Tottori City in Tottori Prefecture in the west, straddling Kyoto Prefecture, Hyogo Prefecture, and Tottori Prefecture, extending about 120km east-west and up to about 30km north-south, is spreading.
In the Geopark area, you can see a lot of valuable geology and topography that you can see the process from the time of the formation of the Sea of Japan about 25 million years ago to the present.
The scenery of the rough rocks eroded by the rough waves of the Sea of Japan and the beach of white sand and blue pine surrounded by a cape is wonderful, and it is one of the beautiful and superb views that represent the Sanin region, which is known to have been visited and praised by many writers.
At Uradome Coast, in addition to SUP（Standup Paddle Boat）、you can also experience water activities such as Kayaking、Clear kayaking、surfing and snorkeling.
Please come to San’in once after the coronavirus has gone away.

2018年、8月10日の朝、天気が良かったので突然思い立ち、山梨からバスに乗り2時間ウトウトしてたら、新宿に到着。今日の行きたい場所は浅草浅草寺、築地場外にあるお寿司やさん。浅草行きの東京メトロ電車内の装飾品が可愛いかった。浅草では、金龍山浅草寺を散策。外人客と一緒に日本を楽しみました。テレビでしか見たことがなかった浅草花屋敷も見ることができました。こちら葛飾区亀有公園前派出所で、両さんが食べていたもんじゃ焼きと牛スジ煮込みをおやつ代わりに食べビールで乾杯！
そのあとは、築地市場場外に移動し、お寿司屋さんでまたねビール(笑)。ゆっくりと美味しいお寿司を食べてきました。
山梨から東京は意外に近い。

Iwaishima Island, Seto Inland in Japan
An island with a circumference of 12km floating at the eastern end of Suo Nada, which is 16km southwest of Kaminoseki Port. There is also a group of giant stones that seem to have been used for rituals, and it has been worshiped as an island where the spirits that protect the safety of navigation that come and go from ancient times calm down. This is widely spread in the city and appears in Manyoshu. From now on, the intangible cultural property Kamimai Shinto ritual, which has been handed down for more than 1000 years, is also held once every four years. It was called Iwamijima in the Edo period. It used to be known for migrating to various places as Mr. Sake Brewery in winter. The main industry is agriculture and fisheries. Loquat, mandarin orange, halfbeak, Thai and other special products are also abundant and are currently being branded. It is an island with a beautiful townscape surrounding a unique stone wall. There is only one village on Iwaishima. It is relatively large for such a small island. Moreover, each of the densely packed mansions is large, and it seems that they have experienced a certain degree of prosperity. Neribei, which is made by painting masonry with soil, is not found in various places, but it is rare to find one with round stones. The stones on a white background (brown background) make a figure, which is very beautiful. This area often serves as a path for typhoons, and the monsoon seems to be strong, so it was probably built for the purpose of preventing the spread of fire because it is a windbreak and a dense area. As for the scenery of the island village, it competes for twelve in the whole country.
