We'll explore the National Lakeshore from end to end in this episode of Grand Adventure, including hiking to Chapel Beach, and from our campsite at Country Village RV Park in Ishpeming we'll also touch upon the area's rich iron mining history, and Ishpeming's title of the birthplace of skiing in America.

In this video, I head northwest of Marquette over to the cities of Houghton and Hancock, MI. Both are situated along Portage Lake with the Houghton-Hancock Bridge connecting them. The first half of the video covers Houghton on the south side and the second half covers Hancock on the north side.
We Are Winter | Vol 1: Ishpeming Ski Club
Located in Ishpeming, Michigan, the Ishpeming Ski Club is the last remaining ski jumping school in the state. The ISC has trained over two dozen World Champion and Olympic Class athletes throughout their 132 years as an organization and continue to keep the heritage, traditions, and teachings alive today thanks to their committed volunteer/staff base and generous community donations. Although, their Annual Ski Jumping Tournament held each year in late January is the fundraiser that keeps the ISC afloat. This year's 132nd event will be held January 22nd at Suicide Ski Bowl in Ishpeming, Michigan.
