Living on a Japanese Island ❤ | Innoshima Murakami Suigun Samurai Pirate Fire Festival // Vlog #11

Hi Guys!

Today the other teachers and I decided to join the Murakami Suigun Samurai Pirate Fire Festival after work and we had a lovely time experiencing the fireworks and enjoying the street food that they have to offer. Saw a lot of our students that we taught at the festival and they were very friendly with us (: Naww. Being a teacher feels different but I actually quite like it.

Went to Onomichi the next day and tried Onomichi Ramen for the first time. It tasted amazing as it was filled with heaps and heaps of pork fats at part of the toppings. Did a small hike and witness the beauty of the Seto Inland Sea alongside an abandon castle. Gamed for a bit at the gaming arcade and had beautiful shaved ice after before heading home.

Lots of Love,
Mishy

Living on a Japanese Island (Innoshima) ❤ | Vlog #1

Hi guys! (:

So as part of my internship for my Diploma in Japanese language, I was sent to Innoshima to complete it. What I did not know was it was an island set within the Seto Inland sea and it's about 40 square kilometres wide.. so I was basically stuck there for most of the time during the week. Though, being a city girl at heart, I really wasn't used to it. I had to travel out during the weekend to escape the island as I felt like I was stuck on the island with only a supermarket and a couple of shops available. I have filmed my whole island living and have been putting off on creating and uploading the videos. Since I'm on a roll with editing the videos, I might as well get it up and share my island experience with you guys (: Hope you guys like it! x

Lots of Love,
Mishy ♡

10 Things you should know BEFORE you Cycle the Shimanami Kaido in Japan!

Cycle the most beautiful coastal scenery route in Japan! CNN Travel wrote that this is one of the most incredible cycling routes in the world! And surprisingly, it is still the best-kept secret in Japan! Not many Japanese are familiar with the Shimanami Kaido cycling route from Onomichi, Hiroshima to Imabari, Ehime in Shikoku. In this video, I will cover 10-18 different observations and suggestions on what you should know before you attempt to cycle the Shimanami Kaido. There are a lot of YouTube videos about cycling, vlogging, and experiencing the Shimanami Kaido, but none of them cover in detail what you should know if this is your first time cycling the Shimanami. This video tries to cover everything that I noticed and wish I knew before I started cycling the Shimanami Kaido for three days.

The entire Shimanami Kaido one-way route is 75 kilometers, crossing over six islands and six massive suspension bridges. The last bridge before Imabari, the Kurushima Kaikyo Bridge, is the world's longest suspension bridge at four kilometers long. If you are planning to visit Japan or presently live in Japan and enjoy cycling, the Shimanami Kaido is a must on your bucket list!

Living on a Japanese Island ❤ | Innoshima Suigun Sea Festival // Vlog #10

Hi Guys,

Sorry that I haven't been uploading any videos for the past 2 weeks. I had been busy playing animal crossing and got side tracked :P

This vlog is regarding the Suigun Sea Festival in Innoshima. They basically start off the ceremony by having traditional boat races in the sea at Murakami Suigun Shima Matsuri Shimanami Beach.

It was very interesting as everyone was having really high competitive spirits for the day. Went home after to do some grocery shopping.

I also experience 2 beautiful sunsets the next 2 days.

Hope you guys like it (:

Lots of Love,
Mishy

Living on a Japanese Island (Innoshima) ❤ | Vlog #2

Hi Guys!

So I'm settling in and organising the stuff I need at my apartment. Biked to the grocery store to get some grocery and to Daiso to buy some kitchenware too. Found this beautiful cafe next to the supermarket and had my lunch there. Taught Japanese kids for the first time and this is my feedback on how they made me feel (:

Living on the island is really interesting as there's limited options available but I still found a lot of joy from being there. It feels like I got to experience living the simpler life and that experience is beautiful (:

Lots of love,
Mishy ♡

Living on a Japanese Island ❤ | Innoshima Suigun Castle // Vlog #17

Hi Guys,

I paid a visit to Innoshima Suigun Castle today as it was on my island. The castle acted as one of the bases of operation for a pirate organization - The Murakami Clan during the Warring States Period around 500 years ago. This clan were the most famous pirates in the Seto Inland Sea during the warring States Period. They were divided into 3 sub-clans; Innoshima, Noshima, and Kurushima from north to south. This castle is a museum that showcases the Innoshima Murakami Pirates. The foot of the castle houses Konrenji Temple, the pirates' gravesite.

I had to teach at a college for the next few days on the next island and coincidentally there was an onsen facility next to the college. As my classes ended early at the college, I was able to soak happily in one of the tubs outdoors while enjoying the scenery.

I also went to try a local hiroshima style okonomiyaki with the other teachers that tasted delicious. You can see the process of how to make one in the video.

Lots of love,
Mishy ♡

Cycle the Shimanami Kaido in Japan! The Innoshima Bridge - a long cage over the water!

The Shimanami Toso Map! A MUST for English speakers and the key to a successful Shimanami Kaido!

If you are planning to cycle the most stunning coastal scenic route in Japan, for English speakers, there is only one really comprehensive and easy-to-understand map series of the seven Shimanami Kaido islands called The Shimanami Toso Map. This map series explains clearly and includes much-needed detailed information on the terrain, roads, accommodation options, sights, as well as transportation options, including ferries and buses. Additionally, the maps provide information on rest areas, local attractions, and recommended restaurants.

This is the link: for ordering within Japan from Amazon.co.jp. However, there is an issue that the Shimanami Toso Map can only be bought on Amazon.co.jp (Amazon Japan) and only be delivered to a Japanese address. I tried searching for the Shimanami Toso Maps on Amazon.com (US), but they were not available. I tried to place an order on Amazon.co.jp and have it sent outside of Japan but it would not accept the address. It is unclear whether they can be ordered from other Amazon networks in other countries. If you live or have a friend or relative in Japan, you can order the maps on amazon.co.jp and have them shipped to your/their address. If you are coming to Japan as a tourist or short-term visitor, you can set up an Amazon.co.jp account and arrange for the maps to be delivered to your hotel or a nearby convenience store upon your arrival, ensuring that Amazon delivers to the selected convenience store. I am sorry that this may be an extra step for those of you living outside Japan. I only became aware of this issue after uploading the video. If anyone has a suggestion on how to make this ordering and receiving process easier, please write in the comments below. Thank you!

Japan Travel: Treasures of Japan, Seto Inland Sea along the Shimanami Kaido Bridge, Hiroshima 06

Japan and its people are very proud of Shimanami Kaido Bridge, the world’s longest series of suspension bridges, which connects Honshu (Japan’s main island) with Shikoku. Visitors can enter or exit the bridge from either Onomichi City in Hiroshima Prefecture on the Honshu side or from Imabari City in Ehime Prefecture on the Shikoku side. This 60 kilometer long bridge-toll road can be utilized by motorists, cyclists and pedestrians.

Visitors can use Shimanami Kaido to visit Mukaishima, Innoshima, Ikuchijima, Omishima, Hakatajima, and Oshima islands as the bridge has exits for its users to stop along the Seto Inland Islands on their way to Honshu or Shikoku. Some areas of attractions on the islands include:
**Innoshima Suigun Castle on Innoshima Island. Though not the original castle, the recreated naval castle is modeled after the original castle from the 14th to 15th centuries. Visitors will find a museum about the Japanese navy within the castle.
**Kosanji Temple on Ikuchijima Island. Dedicated to the founder’s mother, the buildings within the temple grounds are modeled after famous Japanese historic structures. This temple has a museum as well displaying rare, high quality antique art pieces.
**Oyamazumi Jinja (Shrine) on Omishima Island. The deity enshrined at this shrine is the protector of the sailors and soldiers. The shrine is also famous for its collection of historic armor and swords.
**Kirosan Observatory Park on Oshima Island. Visitors can view Kurushima-kaiyo Strait Bridge, the first three consecutive suspension bridges in the world! In addition, Kurshima-kaiyo Strait, one of the three fastest currents in Japan can be seen here.

In addition to the tourist attractions, visitors can enjoy the fresh sea air, cool sea breeze as well as sunshine on this island hopping bridge. Visitors will find beautiful beaches on the islands. There are campgrounds as well as hot spring inns (ryokan) for those who wish to spend the night.

Visitors are recommended to try the local fruits and vegetables these islands are proud of. Citrus is especially popular in this area. The seafood, caught from the surrounding Seto Inland Sea, is delicious as well. Sea bream. Octopus, Shellfish (including short-neck clams and freshwater clams) are but a few of the popular seafood in this area.

The bridge can be accessed by car, moped, bus, and bicycle or on foot. There are ferries as well to the islands with the Shimanami Kaido Bridge in the background. Not just a bridge, toll way connecting the islands as well Honshu and Shikoku, Shimanami Kaido is new way to access, discover and experience Japan treasures.

Japan Trip: Viewing the Seto Inland Sea from the Bus Window along the Shimanami Kaido Bus, Hiroshima 09

The Shimanami Kaido Bridge, the world’s longest suspension bridge, is the toll road which connects Honshu (Japan’s main island) with Shikoku. Visitors on the Honshu side can access this bridge from Onomichi City in Hiroshima Prefecture while Imabari City in Ehime Prefecture is the access point from Shikoku. The bridge spans across the Seto Inland Sea which ramps on 6 Seto Inland Islands (Mukaishima, Innoshima, Ikuchijima, Omishima, Hakatajima and Oshima) allowing its users to visit these islands on their way to their destination.

With automobile lanes as well as separate bicycle and pedestrian paths, cycling and driving are popular options to access this 60 kilometer long toll road with its beautiful Seto Inland Sea scenery. However, there are bus services for those who wish to sit back and let someone else steer them along this bridge.

There are few direct buses between Onomichi and Imabari. There is one bus every three hours. The one-way journey takes about an hour and a half with a cost of 2250 yen. Visitors who do not mind transferring from the highway bus to the local bus at the Innoshima Ohashi bus stop will find the buses are more frequent. Walking video of Murakami Suigun Castle in Innoshima, Hiroshima Prefecture【広島県 因島 村上水軍城】

Innoshima Suigunjo is a museum of the Murakami Suigun located in Innoshima, Onomichi City, Hiroshima Prefecture. There was no castle tower at this position in the past, and it becomes a so-called castle-like building.

The hill at an altitude of 24m in this area is called Mt. Katagari. It is said that the place where Innoshima Suigun Castle is currently located is the place where the elder of Katagari Castle lived. Currently, this site is located at the foot of Mt.

It is this Innoshima Suigun Castle that was created by the chief priest of Konrenji to display the materials of Mr. Innoshima Murakami and to create a tourist spot in Innoshima. did. The former Innoshima City began to focus on the tourism industry with the theme of the Navy in 1989 (Heisei 1), after it opened. According to local tourism materials, it is touted as Japan's only naval castle.

【Japan 1minute Travel HIROSHIMA Innoshima】広島 因島(因島公園からほぼ1分の夕景動画)

広島 因島(HIROSHIMA Innoshima)

Welcome to Amazing Japan!
