I visited unexplored stations by special train from 'Toyohashi' to 'Iida'.
Unexplored station is a station located in the mountains, etc., where you can't feel the presence of any houses or people around the station, and it is difficult to get to other than by train.
The Iida Line of JR Tokai, which straddles the three prefectures of Nagano, Shizuoka, and Aichi and runs through the mountains along the Tenryu River, has 10 stations called Hikyo Stations (*). Among them, there are stations where the number of users per day is 0. In order for many people to enjoy the atmosphere of such a hidden station, the train that started operation in the spring of 2010 is the Express Iida Line Hikyo Station. In order to efficiently go around unexplored stations, it will be operated as an express train with long stops, and the crew will send you off and entertain you on board, and the locals will welcome you and sell special products.

After spending 3 days in Nagano, I have to say it exceeded all my expectations.
From the sharp spire mountains in Komagatake, to the breathtaking clouds in Utugihara, the landscapes there are out of this world.
If you ever have a chance to visit, I would highly recommend renting a car for a week!

Q: How long was the trip?
A: Around 18 days. But I would say it's doable in 2 weeks. If you want more time to explore then 3 weeks should be more than adequate.
Q: How many days do I need in each city?
A: I would say 3-5 days in Kyoto and Osaka. Nara 1-2 days. At least 4-6 days in Tokyo but the more the better.
Q: How much did it cost?
A: Excluding hotels + airplane tickets we had a budget of around 2000 USD
Q: Is there vegan restaurant options in Japan?
A: Yes, I found plenty, and most restaurants offer vegan-friendly meals
Q: Which month did you go?
A: We visited in July but I would recommend visiting in either the Autumn or Spring season

24 hours in Nagano, Japan : Travel Guide - what we did, saw and ate including Snow Monkey Park!
What do you do when you have 24 hours in Nagano? This is a beautiful city with wonderful sights and food. Let us guide you through what we did here.
We landed at 5pm and went for a delectable Shinshu beef BBQ dinner at Shinshu Meat Center. We were pleasantly surprised by how great Shinshu apple beef tasted. Highly recommended. We ended the night with warm sake and beer from Nagano Prefecture at Yamanoma Brewery.
The next morning was spent getting to the Snow Monkey Park where we witnessed very adorable snow monkeys frolicking in the onsen. The sight of the monkeys in the snowy background was unforgettable. We had a great lunch of sauce katsudon and Shinshu soba at Meijitei in Nagano Midori. We also tried the horse sashimi which is this region's specialty. We had some time to kill before our Shinkansen to Tokyo and we shopped and snacked at Nagano Midori. Bought some Shinshu apple snacks, Oyaki and shimichi togarashi (7 Spices). There are really many things to eat and buy in Nagano. We just did not have the time. So we will return to this place next year to follow up on what we have not tried. See you soon, Nagano. 中仙道塩尻宿から分岐し、伊那谷を縦断して三河国（現愛知県）岡崎で東海道に合流した伊那街道（別名三州街道または飯田街道）は、中仙道の脇往還として江戸期には盛んに利用されていました。
関所が多く取り締まりが厳しかった中仙道に対し、本街道は武家の通行も少なく、また沿道に集落が開かれていたことから、庶民の道として、また通商の道として親しまれていました。
明治以降、例に漏れず鉄道の開通により衰退しましたが、その後本街道は国道153号となり、自動車交通の発達に伴って道路改修が進められ、現在は伊那谷の大動脈として機能しています。
上伊那郡飯島町と飯田市の間は、天竜川沿いにパイパスが建設され、中央アルプスの山裾を走る旧街道筋は現在県道飯島飯田線として供用されています。各所で道路改良が進められていますが、集落内は狭隘区間が多く、かつての街道の雰囲気が随所に残されています。
現在は旧街道筋と平行して「伊那南部広域農道」が建設され、県道飯島飯田線の実質的なバイパス道路として機能しています。実際、同農道に接続する県道は飯島飯田線の枝線として供用されており、近い将来広域農道そのものも本路線に編入されることも予想されます。その暁には、歴史のある旧街道筋は名実ともに幹線道路としての役割を終えることになるでしょう。
