Slovenia, is truly Europe’s best kept secret. Their motto - You cannot spell Slovenia without Love , and I have to say, I absolutely agree, because I fell in love with this Country.
We spent 7 days in Slovenia. 4 in the North, and 3 in the South, and definitely could’ve still used another day or 2 there. If you are going to do what we did, it’s a fabulous adventure!
Slovenia is located in Central Europe, it’s about the size of New Jersey, in the US, it’s a Part of the European Union - so it is on the Euro, and you’ll find that it’s rather inexpensive, compared to other European Countries.
We rented a car upon arrival via train from Vienna, and it's really easy to get around, their signage is very good.

Things to do in Lake Bled, Slovenia | One Day in Bled Travel Guide
Lake Bled is one of Slovenia's most picturesque and popular travel destinations. It is located some 55 km north of Ljubljana, the capital city of Slovenia, not far from the border with Austria, at the foot of the Julian Alps. It is distinguished by a mild, healing climate and thermal springs of lake water. The lake is 2,120 m long and 1,380 m wide, it has a maximum depth of 30.6 m. Nearby is Triglav National Park and other mountains in the Julian Alps and Karavanke. Lake Bled is a photographer’s paradise and a wonderful destination for anyone that loves nature. One day in Lake Bled is just enough time to see all of Bled's top sights, try some local food and take up one of the many activities around the lake.

If you are traveling, hopefully you have better weather than we did. During our time waiting on the weather, we tried multiple restaurants, too many to list at least 10 - 15 of them. Definitely have anything truffle, as well as make sure you have some of their orange unfiltered wine.

In this video, I visit the locations Of Piran and Portorose telling you all of the things that you should do, and giving you as much info as possible so that you can choose which one is best for you to stay - Piran or Portorose?
We stayed in Portorose at Kempinski Palace. It was was one of my favorite stays EVER! Their breakfast buffet was the best breakfast buffet that I've ever had.
The food in general is inexpensive, and amazing! Definitely try the seafood, pastas, pizzas, and wine. They are also known for their olive oil, truffles and wine.

We visited Slovenia during our trip in the summer of 2019 and while driving to Logar Valley, we come across a few of the most scenic and beautiful villages on the way.
This drive was full of natural greenery and amazingly beautiful landscape.
You can enjoy the raw and uncut videos of our drive-in Slovenia. Please do check out the video till the end and apologies for the shaky video at someplace as the village road was bumpy.
It's incredibly beautiful in summer and must-visit place for nature lovers, hikers, and photographers.
How to Reach: The easiest way is to rent a car and drive to this place while enjoying small villages and nature's scenery along the way. Its approx 75 KM from Ljubljana and fuel cost will be approx euro 10 to 12 and it will take around 140 minutes drive.

Lake Bohinj, Slovenia
Lake Bohinj is the largest permanent lake in Slovenia. And is located within the Bohinj Valley of the Julian Alps, and part of Triglav National Park.
It's filled with with beautiful green glacier water, and hopefully you are there for nice weather, not like us.
Make sure that you also head over to the Savica waterfall, it's on the western side of the lake. it's about a 45 min climb to the top, it's definitely a unique water fall, being an A shape of 2 waterfalls coming out of the underground cave.
And stop by the Planinski Dom Savica after ,for a bite to eat....and yes...it does say bad and breakfast on their menu =)

3. If you want to get outdoors and explore some of the amazing natural scenery in Slovenia, then Triglav National Park is the ideal spot to visit. Most of the park is made up of the Julian Alps, with highlights in the region including the towering peak of Mount Triglav itself as well as the calm waters of Lake Bohinj.
For spectacular views, you can attempt to hike Mount Triglav, or you can take the easy route and ride on the Vogel Cable Car Ride. The adventurous can also cross the Vintgar Gorge on a wooden footbridge from the 19th century or climb a steep staircase to see the rushing waters of the Savica Waterfall. Rafting on the Soca River is also a popular activity.
2. Serving as a gateway to the Triglav National park is Lake Bled, a scenic body of water surrounded by the Julian Alps. The emerald green lake isn’t large, and it is possible to walk the perimeter in a single afternoon. What makes the destination so appealing is the small island in the middle of the lake, which is home to a 17th century church.
You might also want to ride horses on the shores of the lake, rent a rowboat to explore the water or climb 15 minutes to reach Bled Castle, which dates back to the 17th century and boasts magnificent views over the lake below

You can also spot castles and medieval squares in the Old Town, see the original Roman city walls or relax in the popular Tivoli Park. As the capital, Ljubljana is also home to fantastic art and architecture museums, an impressive zoo, the Slovenian Philharmonic and the Slovene National Theater.
