I was very fortunate to find out about this area when I was passing through and I would highly recommend you visit here if you enjoy the more traditional side of Japanese culture. 10 minutes by ferry from Meinohama.
I visited a paradise-like island surrounded by beautiful blue sea and flowers blooming in profusion.
The contrast between cherry blossoms and rape blossoms is the best season!
I also felt the atmosphere of good old Japan and enjoyed delicious seafood.

竹富島の町並みや景観が大好きです。朝は観光客も少なく、静まりかえった集落は時間が止まっているようでした。コンドイ浜はかつてないほど浅くて、それでいて綺麗な海の色にビックリ！ 砂の白さのなせる技です。
今回はあえて満潮よりの幻の浜に上陸。足跡のない砂だけの無人島を堪能できました。あちこちで咲き誇るブーゲンビリアや色とりどりの植物、石垣からふと現れる水牛を見て新鮮で癒やされました(^ ^)
