This is really my first top 10 video compilation and decided to count down my favorite places to visit in Humboldt County. There are so many other awesome places to visit that didn't make this list but I'm considering doing a separate video for them. All footage in this video taken by me. Eureka is a city that's rich in cultural charms as well as outdoor activities. Just off the coast of Northern California, the city is home to vibrant Humboldt Bay, home to numerous international shipping ports and a large commercial fishing fleet. Visitors will enjoy miles of hiking trails and beaches, while also discovering the nearby Lost Coast, a scenic national park area made up of nearly two hundred miles of undeveloped coastline.
Eureka is the largest coastal city in Northern California. It's also the westernmost city of more than 25,000 people in the contiguous United States. Best Things to Do in Eureka, California
Filled to the brim with cultural charms and outdoor activities, Eureka, California is a superb place to visit. Eureka is the principal city and county seat of Humboldt County in the Redwood Empire region of California. The city is located on U.S. Route 101 on the shores of Humboldt Bay, 270 miles north of San Francisco and 100 miles south of the Oregon border. At the 2010 census, the population of the city was 27,191, and the population of Greater Eureka was 45,034.
Eureka is the largest coastal city between San Francisco and Portland, Oregon, and the westernmost city of more than 25,000 residents in the 48 contiguous states. The headquarters of both the Six Rivers National Forest and the North Coast Redwoods District of the California State Parks System are in Eureka. An array of stores, art galleries, and museums can be found in the town, as well as several popular attractions such as Fort Humboldt State Historic Park. So when there’s so much to do and see, it can be tough to know where best to spend your days for a first-time visitor. Well, you need not worry. Embark On A Most Epic Adventure In Southern California: 10 Day Itinerary- Day 3
Hey hey! Frisco Roamer here!
As a California native I have extensively explored this amazing state. From Humboldt, Shasta, Mendocino, and more in the far north. I am from San Francisco and obviously explored the Bay Area extensively. I've seen the high places of Mariposa, Mono, and more. I've driven down highway 1 more than a couple dozen times and explored the central valley all the way down to San Diego County.
I have lived that city life and explored nature in this amazing state. While I have not explored all of California, I feel it's safe to say, I know Cali pretty damn well.
I am moving to China and this may be my last time in California so I thought I would not only do one final EPIC road trip, but also hit locations I have never been to. What an amazing experience this was and to go out with a bang!
This video goes over my 10 day trip hitting locations all over Southern California and even hitting Arizona and Nevada briefly, as I always allow for flexibility in my trips.
While I am not an expert in any of these locations, I did manage to make a lot of mistakes which made my trip better in some situations and I will be sharing the amazing locations that to me are off the beaten path, as well as providing information based on my experience.
That's the thing, it's nice to be an expert and know the ins and outs of a place, but sometimes it's nice to be on the outside looking in. Not only is it new for me and you, it's the unknown. Sometimes an outsider can provide even better information than an expert, because you see it through a different perspective and also any mistakes you make is a good lesson learned.
I hope you will join me on this 10 day/10 video trip through Southern California.
