Turnhout, Bélgica | Joyas de Flandes
Turnhout es una ciudad ubicada en la provincia flamenca de Amberes, en Bélgica. Floreció como fruto de la convergencia de dos rutas comerciales importantes en la antiguedad además de la necesidad de proteger el castillo de caza de los duques de Brabante que yacía en la zona. En el siglo XVI Turnhout se convirtió en un rico centro comercial, aunque posteriormente sufrió una serie de altibajos provocados en su mayor medida por guerras, incendios y epidemias. A finales de la Edad Media fue un importante centro de tejido y comercio de ropa blanca y posteriormente, ya a principios del siglo XIX, estos oficios fueron reemplazados por industrias basadas en el uso del papel. En la actualidad la ciudad conserva gran parte de esta industria y es líder mundial en la industria de naipes.
Los invitamos a recorrer con nosotros no solo la ciudad sino también sus alrededores, a pie y en bicicleta. Visitaremos el beaterio de Turnhout, que está listado como patrimonio de la humanidad por la UNESCO, el castillo de los Duques de Brabante, el molino Grote Bentelmolen y posteriormente daremos un paseo por la reserva natural Turnhouts Vennengebied para terminar nuestro recorrido en el pueblo de Weelde con una hermosa vista de los molinos Rosmolen y Arbeid Adelt. Herentals, Bélgica | Ciudades más bonitas de Amberes
Herentals se encuentra en la provincia de Amberes, en Bélgica y es conocida como la capital histórica de lo que se conoce como de Kempen, una región natural muy importante que abarca principalmente el noreste de Bélgica y parte de los Países Bajos. La prosperidad medieval de Herentals está estrechamente relacionada con el florecimiento de la industria textil local. Durante su período de auge, en la segunda mitad del siglo XIV, los comerciantes de telas de Herentals cubrieron un área de ventas que se extendía por gran parte de Europa. Posteriormente, como a la mayoría de los poblados europeos, le siguieron años de guerras, destrucciones y pestes, lo que provocó un gran declive económico. De todas formas Herentals siempre tuvo fuerzas para resurgir y en particular hoy en día podemos encontrar aquí numerosos monumentos, vestigios de esos tiempos de gloria, como ser su impresionante Lonja de los Paños, sus puertas del siglo XV y una imponente iglesia.

Heist-op-den-Berg es una ciudad en la provincia de Amberes, en Bélgica, situada sobre una colina que ya se encontraba poblada en la prehistoria. Itegem fue probablemente la primera aldea que se fundó aquí, alrededor del año 976, pasando a llamarse Heist-op-den-Berg recién en el siglo XII. Durante la mayor parte de la Edad Media la agricultura fue la base de la economía de la ciudad y como dato historico más reciente podemos mencionar que la ciudad también fue duramente golpeada por las dos guerras mundiales. Actualmente cuenta con un hermoso centro, ideal para los amantes de las compras ya que posee una agradable combinación de boutiques locales y cadenas internacionales. Además, cuenta con muchos espacios verdes, como bosques y valles, con hermosas bicisendas que recomendamos recorrer sin lugar a dudas.

Belgium: The Beguine Convent of the City of Antwerpen
The Beguine Convent (Begijnhof) in the Belgian city of Antwerp is one of the lesser known beguinages in the province of Antwerp. It does not count - differently than the other Flemish Beguine Covents - as a UNESCO World Heritage Site, however, it is well preserved and an oasis of calm at the Rodestraat.
The Beguine Convent existed as Curtis Syon in the 13th Century. Whether the Antwerp mystica Hadewijch has worked here, is uncertain.
In 1986 the last beguine died.
The today's buildings structures go back to the 16th Century. The Church of St. Catherine is a neo-Gothic building from the 19th Century. In the garden, fruit trees were planted and a pond was created.

☀️???????? TONGEREN: La ciudad más antigua de Bélgica
Tongeren se ubica al sur de la provincia Flamenca de Limburgo y según documentos oficiales es la ciudad más antigua de Bélgica. En particular, la zona ya se encontraba habitada por un grupo de tribus belgas al momento de la conquista por el ejercito romano. Posteriormente, en el siglo XVII la ciudad fue incendiada casi en su totalidad por las tropas de Luis XIV, una catástrofe de la que nunca se recuperó completamente. Hoy en día y como resultado de todo lo acontecido en su pasado, Tongeren disfruta de una gran herencia histórica que vamos a mostrarles a lo largo de este video.
En este video vamos a mostrarles la Basílica de Tongeren, sus puertas (Puerta de Moeren) y murallas, su beguinage, que es patrimonio de la UNESCO y finalmente vamos a salir de paseo en bicicleta para visitar el Castillo de Alden Biesen, un castillo que data del siglo XVI y que está ubicado en el pequeño pueblo de Rijkhoven, en el municipio de Bilzen.
