Hollis Garden, Central Florida - Unravel Travel TV

When you arrive at Holllis Garden you will be overwhelmed by the beauty of this place at the lake front but there is actually much more than meets the eye. When you take a tour you will see the butterfly garden, Elvis Presleys tree and lots of unusual fruit and veg

Neoclassical in design and featuring more than 10,000 flowers and shrubs, Hollis Garden chronicles a Florida history. A tour of this garden will start at the beginning of the states agrarian period to the modern era in which horticulture is driven primarily by aesthetics. The three main gardeners on site are worldly wise in their knowledge of all the trees, plants and flowers on site there also entertaining in showing you some of the quirky features or powers of certain plants.

There is a plant here for everyone whether its to cure a thirst, a toothache, indigestion and even one plant that has the distinct taste of gin. Children will in particular delight in the fish pond and the butterfly garden. Hollis Gardens is unsurprisingly a prime location for wedding photographs and its also a lovely setting for a memorably holiday snap.

War, West Virginia | What The Hell Happened?

War, WV....WOW!! This is one of the most poverty stricken cities in the country! Located in McDowell County, West Virginia, this city has an estimated population of 662 and has a poverty rate of 49.5%! Driving through some of these Appalachian areas look like a war zone. On the flip side, the people for the most part were extremely friendly and crime is extremely low in this area. War was a former coal and timber camp, it was nicknamed Miner's City. After the war on coal and collapse of the economy, this place has been left devastated. The average income is less than $16,500 dollars per year. Let's take a drive and check some of it out!

An Insider Tour of NYC’s Most Horrible Slum - The Hole

The Hole, as the small 5 block area is officially and suitingly called, looks like something out of a post apocalyptic sci fi film. The vast majority of New Yorkers don’t even know this area exists since it is so well hidden in a small forgotten pocket on the Brooklyn- Queens border.

This is often considered the worst slum in New York City with a sizeable homeless and squatter population. The neighborhood is completely disinvested and in utter ruin. Most of the area residents are well below the poverty line, or have no income whatsoever.

The area is literally a hole, as it is 30 feet lower than the surrounding area. This creates vast flooding, many streets of which one cannot drive down and you would have to kayak down instead. The area is filled with vermin and stray animals, and is notorious for being the home of some of the most polluted water, air, and ground in New York City.

Also, the area was the site of a body dumping ground of the New York City Mafia during it's heydey in the 1970s-1990s. The FBI recovered several bodies buried in abandoned lots throughout The Hole.

Most of the streets are unpaved, and are simply dirt pathways- usually inundated like a river. Freakishly, area residents also seem to suggest that The Hole is filled with fugitives as it is one of the easiest places to hide. There are people who have been living in makeshift homes in the Hole for decades.

The Hole is by far the worst neighborhood in New York City, the worst slum in Brooklyn, and one of the most abandoned neighborhoods in the USA.

Manchester, New Hampshire city tour

- Manchester is the state's commercial and industrial leader, as well as its largest city and the home of nearly 10 percent of its population. The city first gained national fame in the 1800s as the home of the massive textile mill of the Amoskeag Manufacturing Company. Nearly 5 million yards of cloth were shipped weekly from the mill, which employed thousands of workers and covered more than 8 million square feet. The mill thrived until the 1920s, when competition from southern mills and obsolete technology took their toll. In 1935, Amoskeag went bankrupt. Despite losing its major employer,

Manchester rebuilt itself as a commercial and industrial center by diversifying industries. Today it is home to a melting pot of high tech companies, banks, business services

enterprises, retailers, manufacturers and health care professionals. Commerce is just one part of Manchester's appeal. The city is also the focal point of the state's cultural community and home to many of the region's eight colleges and universities. Cultural institutions such as the Currier Gallery of Art and Palace Theatre join with the new Verizon Wireless Arena and outdoor concert venues to attract world-class performers and exhibits to the city. Performances, exhibits, classes, workshops and lectures are offered to the general public at many of the area's institutions of higher education.
