Heist-op-den-Berg es una ciudad en la provincia de Amberes, en Bélgica, situada sobre una colina que ya se encontraba poblada en la prehistoria. Itegem fue probablemente la primera aldea que se fundó aquí, alrededor del año 976, pasando a llamarse Heist-op-den-Berg recién en el siglo XII. Durante la mayor parte de la Edad Media la agricultura fue la base de la economía de la ciudad y como dato historico más reciente podemos mencionar que la ciudad también fue duramente golpeada por las dos guerras mundiales. Actualmente cuenta con un hermoso centro, ideal para los amantes de las compras ya que posee una agradable combinación de boutiques locales y cadenas internacionales. Además, cuenta con muchos espacios verdes, como bosques y valles, con hermosas bicisendas que recomendamos recorrer sin lugar a dudas.
En este video los invitamos a pasear con nosotros, a pie y en bicicleta, por esta hermosa ciudad. Además, visitaremos un hermoso molino de viento, el Kaassttrooimolen, para finalmente terminar nuestro paseo en el castillo Hof Ter Laken. Que lo disfruten!

Herentals, Bélgica | Ciudades más bonitas de Amberes
Herentals se encuentra en la provincia de Amberes, en Bélgica y es conocida como la capital histórica de lo que se conoce como de Kempen, una región natural muy importante que abarca principalmente el noreste de Bélgica y parte de los Países Bajos. La prosperidad medieval de Herentals está estrechamente relacionada con el florecimiento de la industria textil local. Durante su período de auge, en la segunda mitad del siglo XIV, los comerciantes de telas de Herentals cubrieron un área de ventas que se extendía por gran parte de Europa. Posteriormente, como a la mayoría de los poblados europeos, le siguieron años de guerras, destrucciones y pestes, lo que provocó un gran declive económico. De todas formas Herentals siempre tuvo fuerzas para resurgir y en particular hoy en día podemos encontrar aquí numerosos monumentos, vestigios de esos tiempos de gloria, como ser su impresionante Lonja de los Paños, sus puertas del siglo XV y una imponente iglesia.

???????? ¿Es DIEST la ciudad más bonita de Brabante Flamenco? | Bélgica
En esta oportunidad les traemos la ciudad de Diest, que se ubica en la provincia de Brabante Flamenco, en Bélgica. Aunque los vestigios más antiguos de asentamientos humanos en la región se remontan a unos 70.000 años antes de Cristo los verdaderos cimientos de la actual Diest datan de la época franca. La ciudad comenzó a tomar importancia a partir del siglo XI principalmente por su comercio, alcanzando su máximo esplendor durante los siglos XIV y XV. El origen de la prosperidad de Diest se debió no sólo a su cercanía con el río Demer sino también al hecho de haber formado parte de la ruta comercial de Brujas a Colonia. Desde 1499 hasta 1795 fueron los Orange-Nassau quienen mantuvieron posesión de la ciudad y en particular Felipe Guillermo, hijo mayor de Guillermo el Silencioso, se encuentra enterrado en la iglesia de San Sulpicio. Finalmente, a pesar de haber sido objeto en reiteradas ocasiones de saqueos y destrucciones ninguna de las dos guerras mundiales dejó huellas profundas en Diest. En la actualidad, Diest es una ciudad con un floreciente centro comercial, pintorescas calles y una gran variedad de patrimonio historico.

Esta es la playa más bonita de Bélgica, ¿La conocés? | KNOKKE-HEIST
Hoy nos encontramos en Knokke-Heist, un balneario belga formado por la
fusión de cinco antiguos pueblos de pescadores que datan del siglo
XIII. Se encuentra localizado en la provincia de Flandes Occidental, muy
cerca de la frontera con Países Bajos y es considerado el municipio más
verde de la costa belga, en particular posee la mayor parte da la
reserva natural Het Zwin. Su costa se extiende por varios kilómetros,
con hermosas bicisendas y dunas de arena.
Hoy los invitamos a recorrer con nosotros Knokke-Heist, en particular su
playa y sus alrededores, a pie y en bicicleta. Les mostraremos además el
paseo en bicicleta hasta Sluis, una ciudad fortificada en Países Bajos,
pasando por una de las ciudades más pequeñas de Países Bajos llamada
Sint Anna ter Muiden. Que lo disfruten!

Hoy les mostraremos Lier, una pequeña ciudad de la provincia de Amberes, en Bélgica. Sus orígenes se remontan al menos a la época romana. En particular, la ciudad fue especialmente próspera prácticamente durante toda la Edad Media, sobre todo por su industria ganadera y su producción textil. Aunque ha sufrido muchos daños a lo largo de su historia, sobre todo durante la Primera Guerra Mundial, hoy cuenta con un acogedor centro histórico. De hecho, la mayoría de las estructuras de estilo medieval que aún se conservan, como el ayuntamiento y su campanario, son réplicas exactas de las originales.
A continuación, vamos a recorrer la ciclovía de Lier hasta Boechout, donde visitaremos el Den Steenen Molen, un molino de viento de 1782.
