Washington's Headquarters, Valley Forge National Historical Park, Pennsylvania - Unravel Travel TV

Washington's Headquarters at Valley Forge National Historical Park, was in the Isaac Potts House, located at the confluence of Valley Creek with the Schuylkill River, in Valley Forge, Pennsylvania. General George Washington made his headquarters here during the encampment at Valley Forge of the Continental Army, during the winter and spring of 1777-1778. The restored building is part of the Valley Forge National Historical Park and is open to the public.

The multifaceted Valley Forge National Historical Park is accessible in many varied ways. Formal tours are available by themed trolley, bicycle and even on foot. A team of trained naturists is on hand to explain not only what flora and fauna you're experiencing but also what the significance is. Children are engaged at all levels: They can sing Happy Birthday to General Washington each February and involve themselves in conservation efforts each summer. Shoppers can find unique gifts and souvenirs at The Encampment Store within the Visitor Center, which also houses hands-on exhibits and artifacts. The calendar overflows with chances to see, hear, touch and taste encampment life, thanks to reenactors who accurately present Continental Army life down to the smallest detail, but without a trace of stuffiness: Be prepared to smile from beneath a tricorne hat you've been asked to model, hum along to the sound of a fife or plug your ears against the roar of cannon fire.

Easily accessible from the Valley Forge exit of the Pennsylvania Turnpike, the Park is located at Route 23 and North Gulph Road in Valley Forge, Pennsylvania. It is open from dawn to dusk year-round, except Thanksgiving, Christmas and New Year's Day. The Visitor Center and other park buildings are open from 9 a.m. to 5 p.m. For more information and details about special park events, please call 610.783.1099 or visit

Washington's Headquarters: Open for touring 9 a.m. to 5 p.m. daily, March through December. Open weekends 10 a.m. to 4 p.m. January and February, and on President's Day. Closed Thanksgiving, Christmas, and New Year's Day. Summer hours are 9 a.m. to 6 p.m. daily from mid-June through Labor Day.

JAPAN HARDWARE STORE!

READ MORE:

My first visit to a hardware store in japan. Make man's in American Village! The language barrier was broken by me with a little kindness and I actually got what I needed. Its a bit intimidating going out to buy stuff, but it all worked out in the end.

Makeman is a Japanese chain of home and DIY stores, easily recognisable from its monkey logo. The bigger stores with LCD screens outside also have some pretty snazzy adverts too, with staff dancing and singing along to a catchy tune! Anyway, read on to discover why Makeman is an essential place to visit.

It’s mainstay is DIY. Here, you’ll find everything you need in regards to home improvements. Tools, paints, materials, hardware, electronics, and much more. They have a service desk, are able to cut materials to size, cut keys, service things like lawnmowers and electric weed eaters, and mix paints. Staff are helpful and knowledgeable, even if there is a bit of a language barrier (an electronic translator will help if you don’t speak Japanese). Most locations are pretty big, and trying to track down staff can often be a pain in most places. Not so here. They have a buzzer system on all the aisles, just click it, a cheery tune will play, and a member of staff will be there in no time to help. It’s genius.

Pennsylvania Turnpike before the 1968 tunnel twinning— a modern “what was it like?”

We’re going to start with a short intro of coming off of the abandoned section of the Pennsylvania Turnpike from the eastern end of the sideling hill tunnel which they did not twin. With recent construction you get a strong idea of what it was like going through a single portal tunnel prior to the “twinning” of them in 1968. The traffic back ups during holidays were awful.

Peaceful and Private Living in Harleysville, PA

Nestled amongst mature trees and lush lawns, my charming ranch-style home is the slice of peace and privacy I have always hoped for! With 8.8 acres of land, there is more than enough space for my family and I to stretch out. The interior of my three bedroom, two bath home is filled with timeless charm such as two brick fireplaces, rich wood accents and stunning pendant lighting. The kitchen is one of my favorite rooms in the house. I can envision cooking up many delicious meals for my family! It offers ample cabinet and countertop space, a cozy breakfast-nook and some updated appliances. The dining room will be used a lot this holiday season…all of my family and friends will be able to fit around the table. I cant wait to host everyone! Down the hall are three spacious bedrooms, one of which is the master suite. It provides generous closest space, a full bath and a lovely bay window. Another feature of my home is the bonus room. This will either be used as my home office, hobby room or a place to relax and read a good book. My home also has an unfished basement which is perfect for all of my storage needs. As well as a one car garage. French doors lead outside to the stone patio. This is my ideal place to unwind after a long day. The views are beautiful, and I love seeing all the wild life! My home is also conveniently located near the turnpike entrance, Evansburg State Park, Spring Mountain, multiple golf courses and the various restaurants in Skippack Village.

They Are Tearing Down The Abandoned Water World Water Park In Phoenixville, PA

Daily Vlog: 0260 (03/03/23)

As a kid I never went swimming much at Water World in Phoenixville Pennsylvania, though I knew many who did. This water park was a popular spot for locals to visit in the warm summer months, until 2012 when it closed it’s pools for good. Ever since the property has sat abandoned wasting away slowly being stripped of it’s slides and other attractions. That is until today when I noticed new activity on the land. Could this be a simple case of getting rid of an abandoned water park to deter people from breaking in? Or could the land have been purchased to be developed in the future? Only time will tell, but the memories of a local summer staple won’t be forgotten.

Obnoxious Tourist VS: Hurleyville Rail Trail

When it comes to upstate New York and the Catskills, it's a a camera person's wet dream to film there. The atmosphere with the wildlife and forests is pure nature porn. Unfortunately though, no one really knows about the little town of Hurleyville buried deep within the Catskill mountains. To bring more exposure to this adorable little place, we took a trip down the Hurleyville Rail Trail and edited with the theme song from the 1978 Japanese Spider-Man series. There were birds, marshlands, woods, trees, more trees, and so many freaking bullfrogs! Check out this cool little place on this edition of the Obnoxious Tourist. Enjoy!
