Whistler is a resort town in western British Columbia. It's Canada's most famous skiing and snowboarding destination.
13. Garibaldi Provincial Park
Located about 30 km or 18.6 mi to the south of Whistler, Garibaldi Provincial Park is known for its natural beauty and its endless hiking opportunities.
12. the Sunshine Coast
The Sunshine Coast is located north of Vancouver along the Strait of Georgia in British Columbia. It is a 180 km or 112 miles stretch of paradise, surrounded by sandy beaches and mountains.

But family is the nucleus and the heart of success for Jordan Grier, as four generations of ranchers work together to provide for others.
The most important aspect of this is to feed the people. Have people understand where food comes from and understand what it's still like to live amongst the land and not just live on it.

David Shand | Full of Heart in Skulow Lake
Pharmacist David Shand's love of the Cariboo started with summer vacations visiting from Victoria and staying in a little cabin on the lake. For the last four years, he's called Skulow Lake, near Williams Lake, his home.
I love this region because you have nature at your fingertips.
Why choose the Cariboo? David's answer is easy:
In the Cariboo, there's a very big sense of community, and everybody has this intrinsic sense of needing to take care of each other. You notice it with the first nations, you notice it in the population here...here you know that people will always take care of you...it's a neat sense of community.
Having moved here to raise a family, getting out into nature is a priority when it comes to spending time with his kids, I can't wait to get outside with them and get them running around...and just share everything we have here with them.
And nature isn't hard to find when you live lakeside...
I can't believe how easy and how close it is and how I can walk out my door and it's quiet and serene, and I'm surrounded by absolute beauty.
In moving to the Cariboo with his family, David is pretty sure that he's found the secret to success: Happiness and opportunity...they sort of go hand in hand and it's hard to measure either. But one thing about the Cariboo is they've opportunities to do so many different things. To me, that's success.

You can't help but appreciate the surroundings and all that Williams Lake offers, especially with the marked change of things to do between summer and winter seasons.
There's so much diversity between summer and winter...you can go out and do anything your heart desires.
Snowmobiling has become a passion for the Snowball family, enhanced by a strong riding community and beautiful landscape to explore in the mountains, on local trails, and especially the nearby Gold Rush Snowmobile Trail.
Everyone's appreciating our surroundings so much with the snowmobiling and what we have in the Cariboo. It's pretty awesome.
There are so many life adventures to be had, but Laurie and Mark especially appreciate all there is to explore locally.
We like to venture, of course, but we venture right here in BC and right here in our community...when we come home from anywhere, we're just at peace.

Working in the cattle industry is tenuous, as its success can be affected by many outside factors, but the health and welfare of their animals always comes first and foremost.
Everything in the cattle industry depends on something else...the economy, geo-politics, the stock markets...Everything can affect the cattle industry including fires, floods.
It is a busy, tough lifestyle, but when you love what you do, you appreciate the life that you lead. As a steward of the land, Cordy hopes to continue in a sustainable industry on land in the Chilcotin that remains as pure as it can.
If you love what you're doing and love the lifestyle that you live, you are thinking about that when things are...going your way, you're like 'man I really love this life.'
