Hey Everyone,
In this video, I make my way down south to Matsue City in Shimane Prefecture. Matsue City may be one of the least visited cities in Japan but it has so many incredible places to see. Just an hour outside of the city is Izumo Taisha Shrine, which is not only one of the oldest shrines in Japan but also the largest! Within Matsue City itself, is one of only 12 original castles in Japan. The Castle is located right in the center of the city on top of a hill, which provides visitors with an amazing view of the entire city!
Another exciting must-see spot that Matsue has is Vogal Park! The park has a stunning display of flowers on top of housing an incredible variety of birds. My favorite part of the park is definitely being able to see some of these birds in action at the many bird shows that they have.

Hiroshima In A Day: Miyajima | Japan Travel Guide
Japan travel guide to what to do and eat in Miyajima, Hiroshima in a day!
Hiroshima is near the bottom of the main island Honshu and a must visit when coming to Hiroshima is the island Itsukushima, more popularly known as Miyajima. It’s one of Japan’s top 3 scenic sights, most famous for its giant torii gate, which at high tide seems to float on the water.
Miyajima island is also a great place for a day trip from the Kansai region like Kyoto and Osaka but I would recommend staying in Hiroshima for a few days to explore Hiroshima city and another day for Miyajima island.
I started my trip off at Hiroshima station and took a 25 minute train ride to JR Miyajima-guchi station.
From there it’s less than a 5 minute walk to the ferry terminal where you will take a 10 minute ferry ride to go to Miyajima island.

There are many sushi restaurants in Japan but in my honest opinion nothing beats the sushi chain Sushi Zanmai. This chain can be found all over Japan and over the best sushi for the best price. I always order the deluxe sushi set after arriving in Japan, for just 3000 yen, $27 USD, you'll feast on a mouthwatering sushi set including blue fin tuna, saltwater eel, shrimp and sea urchin.

Since the Tsukiji inner fish market closed, you can still enjoy the Tsukiji outer market where you can still run into public tuna cutting. Two other major items you have to buy at the Tsukiji outer market are the Japanese custard mochi ball which is a sticky rice ball treat and the bizarre sea urchin bamboo-charcoal bun (uniman) from Hamada Shoten.
It was a total coincidence running into famous YouTube star John Daub from the show ONLY in Japan. An incredible show about everything Japan with over 1 million subscribers. John was live streaming the closure of the Tsukiji inner fish market and asking the locals their thoughts on the relocation to Toyosu.
