ANTALYA, TURKEY | 10 Best Things to Do in & around Antalya!

Antalya is one of the most interesting cities in Turkey! In this video, we highlight the 10 best things to do in Antalya. We hope that this information will help you plan your own trip to Antalya.

The 10 best things to do in Antalya, Turkey include:

10. The Upper Düden Falls. These waterfalls are an oasis of peace and nature located in the bustling city of Antalya.

9. The Tünek Tepe hike. The trail is located right on the outskirts of the city and is about 7km out-and-back. The top of the trail offers a birds-eye view of Antalya as well as the beautiful blue waters and mountains around.

Recommended hiking poles:

8. The Lower Düden Falls. These waterfalls are in a different location than the Upper Düden Falls, but both are part of the same underground river. The water drops about 40m into the sea, creating an impressive sight.

7. The 7th best thing to do in Antalya is to watch the sunset. With its year-round good weather, Antalya is the perfect place to see the sun go down. Our favorite spots are the Old Town Harbour and Atatürk Park.

6. The ancient city of Aspendos, which is one of the best-preserved Roman theatre in the Mediterranean. There is an impressive old theatre, which is still in use today. You’ll also find ancient ruins of the city, such as an arena, basilica, aqueducts, temples and streets.

5. The Kursunlu waterfall ranks number 5 in Antalya because of its unique color and lush nature around it. It is located about 22km to the north of Antalya, but it feels much further from the city. The area consists of waterfalls connecting 7 ponds and a backdrop of lush pine trees.

4. The fourth best thing to do in Antalya is to visit the ancient city of Perge. Here, you can see the remains of the city, such as the column lined streets, the necropolis, Roman baths, and Greek and Roman gates.

3. Konyaalti Beach. It's one of the two main beaches of Antalya and located on the western side of the city. The beach itself is made of pebbles instead of sand, with a beach park and numerous bars, cafes, and hotels right beside it. Konyaalti Beach is the perfect place to cool off on a hot summer day.

2. The Old Town (Kaleici). This is Antalya’s most picturesque place. You’ll find narrow cobblestone streets, traditional houses, and a charming harbour. But besides that, it’s also the historic heart of Antalya. The best way to learn about the history of the Old Town and other things to do is to join a free walking tour.

5 THINGS YOU SHOULD KNOW ABOUT AMSTERDAM

????This 6-minute video will help you to AVOID these MISTAKES!
☕️I can't make videos without coffee ☕️ Buy me a COFFEE:

???? The MUSIC I use in my videos:

????5 Things You Should Know About Amsterdam! In this series of videos, I cover things you should know about Amsterdam or things you don't know about Amsterdam (aka some nice Amsterdam information / facts). All these Amsterdam mistakes are placed in random order, so it's not an Amsterdam Top 5, just Amsterdam facts & information in the order which came to my mind while filming. Some will be things you wish you knew before going to Amsterdam (and did I put this sentence here for you or for the YouTube algorithm? I might answer that question in another video!). I guess a few of these will really surprise you! And the I Amsterdam City Card may not be the best option for you after all! Some of the Amsterdam facts are common knowledge to all Amsterdam locals, but other things come from my personal experience (loophole: I'm also an Amsterdam local). And I can't stretch this enough: respect everyone in the Amsterdam Red Light District.????Please consider subscribing for more videos about Amsterdam!

????ABOUT ME:
This is my Amsterdam YouTube channel where I'm posting videos about Amsterdam (would you have guessed that?). I am making things like Amsterdam Top 10 videos (about for example Museums, Squares or Bridges). Or Amsterdam TO DO videos, which is a series of short videos in which I show known and unknown things you can check out in Amsterdam. I also make Amsterdam walking route and Amsterdam cycle route videos in several areas of the city, it might be fun for you to walk the route yourself when you're here, or you will find out that you definitely don't wanna go to a certain area! (in which case I saved you some time). I show you what to do in Amsterdam but also things to do outside Amsterdam. In some of the videos, I'll have CouchSurfers (also know as tourists) who are CouchSurfing at my place during the time of filming.

BERGEN, NORWAY | Best Things To Do In & Around Bergen

The city of Bergen is located along the southwestern coast of Norway. Surrounded by mountains and fjords, it’s a haven for nature and outdoor enthusiasts. But as a UNESCO World Heritage City, Bergen also combines history, culture, and an interesting urban life. This charming city might have a small-town feel, but it has tons of entertaining activities to offer. In this video, we break down our 6 favorite things to do in and around Bergen.

???? WHERE TO STAY IN BERGEN:
- Barfot Apartments (budget option with kitchen in center of town):

6. Try the local food
Norwegian culture is highly influenced by fishing and this is also visible in their cuisine. Visit Bergen’s fish market at the waterfront and you’ll see merchants selling their fresh catch of the day as they have for centuries. Other dishes Norwegians are proud of is “boller” (sweet buns) and “Pølse” (Norwegian hot dogs).

5. Visit a museum on a rainy day
Bergen has many interesting museums that you can visit, such as the Norway Fisheries Museum, the Lepra museum, and the Bergen University Museum of Natural History.

☑️ List of more museums:

4. Day hike to highest peak in Bergen municipality
Sitting between various mountains, Bergen naturally has plenty of great hiking terrain. At 987 meters tall, Gullfjellet is the highest peak in Bergen municipality and a classic for local hikers. Located a bit outside the city, this trail feels truly remote and is a great escape. The trail starts at Osavatnet and runs past a cabin (Redningshytten) on the way to the summit. To get to the trailhead, it’s best to rent a car or combine public transportation with a taxi ride.

3. Bryggen & the Hanseatic Museum
Bryggen is one of Bergen's most iconic and popular attractions. With its vibrant atmosphere, you will find plenty of things to do. You can stroll through the narrow, crooked alleyways, grab a local beer at one of the many cafés, and learn about its historic importance at the Hanseatic Museum. A free guided tour is included when visiting the museum, during which you get to know more about the Hanseatic merchants and their daily life at Bryggen.

☑️ Book your visit:

2. Hike one of the 7 peaks
Bergen is surrounded by seven peaks, and you can hike them all! The most popular ones are Mount Fløyen and Mount Ulriken, which are easily accessible by foot or bus from the city center. Both are short but steep hikes of a few kilometers each, offering spectacular views of the city, the fjord, and the ocean from the top. There is a cable car to Ulriken and a railway to Fløyen if you don't want to hike.

1. Fjord Cruise
Norway is known for its fjords, and so is Bergen. If this is your first time in Norway, make sure to go on a day tour of the fjords. Bergen offers a wide variety of guided tours, with Mostraumen being the most popular and accessible one. During a 3 hour cruise, you will see the varied western Norway fjord landscapes, consisting of steep cliffs and waterfalls. You eventually reach the Mostraumen Strait and the tiny village of Mo!

ISTANBUL, TURKEY | 7 INCREDIBLE Things To Do In Istanbul!

Istanbul is located in the northwest of Turkey and is the largest city in the country. It’s not the capital city of Turkey, but is known as the country’s economic, cultural and historic center. There are many historical places to visit as well as lots of interesting art, architecture, culinary heritage, and a vibrant local atmosphere. Try to stay at least 3 to 5 days in this bustling city to be able to enjoy the many things to do. In this video we'll highlight 7 INCREDIBLE things to do in Istanbul, Turkey!

7. Istiklal Street
The 7th best thing to do in Istanbul is to explore the vibrant Istiklal Street. Istiklal is the busiest street in the city, comparable to Oxford Street in London or Fifth Avenue in New York City. This long stretch has a wide range of shops, cafes, restaurants, and much more.

✅Istanbul Food Tour:

6. “Relax” at a Hamam
The Turkish bath, or hamam, is an important part of Turkish culture. It’s a type of steam bath and also a place of public bathing that was used primarily within the Ottoman Empire starting in the 16th century. There are about 60 baths in Istanbul, offering just the traditional bath or including massages. The price can range from $15 to $50.

5. Galata Bridge & Bosphorus
The 5th best thing to do in Istanbul is to walk the Galata Bridge in the heart of Istanbul. This bridge spans the Golden Horn and stretches between modern Istanbul on the north and the Old Town of Istanbul on the south. The Golden Horn is actually an inlet of the Bosphorus river, which forms the border between the European and the Asian continent.

4. Topkapi Palace
Topkapi Palace is an architectural highlight in Istanbul and therefore ranks at number 4. Home to the Ottoman sultans for nearly 400 years, this palace was the heart of the vast Ottoman Empire. The palace has hundreds of rooms decorated with beautiful tiles, gold, and other decorations.

3. Galata Tower
The 3rd best thing to do in Istanbul is to visit the Galata Tower. This historic tower sits high above the city and is visible from all angles. It was once used as a watchtower, but is now converted into a museum. It offers the best view of Istanbul!

2. Shop at the Grand & Spice Bazaar
The runner-up activity is to shop at the Grand Bazaar and the Spice Bazaar. Both are located in the old town of Istanbul, near the Galata Bridge. The Spice Bazaar is a giant covered market with the majority of shops selling food. The market is also close to the Grand Bazaar, which is the true centre of hustle and bustle. With over 4,000 shops, the Grand Bazaar has a little bit of everything.

Hagia Sophia + Free Walking Tour
The best thing to do in Istanbul is to visit the Hagia Sophia. Located in the heart of Sultanahmet, this is one of the most impressive and important buildings ever constructed. It’s now free to enter, but to fully understand the importance of this building we encourage you to go on a “free walking tour”. Free walking tours run daily at 10:30AM.

MOST CHARMING CITY IN EUROPE? (BRUGES, BELGIUM TOUR) | Eileen Aldis

Bruges, Belgium might just be the most charming city in Europe. If you closed your eyes and imagined a picturesque, fairytale, travel-back-in-time, absolutely breath-taking European city I'd guess that Bruges is pretty close to what's in your head. It's what European vacation dreams are made of. A veritable time capsule of medieval architecture, It's easy to understand why it's a UNESCO World Heritage City. It is rare to see so many streets of buildings all so well preserved. Walking around is like being transported back in time and history here is on another level. This town hall? It was the seat of government for more than six hundred years. This old hospital? It's been a hospital since the 1100s (and only stopped in the 1970s). The reason why Bruges is so well preserved has a twist: the city was too poor to renovate and rebuild. Bruges has experienced periods of great wealth, great poverty, and great wealth. During the down times, citizens didn't have the cash to make 'improvements' to their houses and to this scarcity we owe a great deal! Ironically, the current citizens of Bruges benefit from their forebears' inability to knock things down and rebuild. Bruges is now a huge draw for tourists from around the world who flock to see the same buildings people were too poor to change. Huzzah! This is why I love history!

Our day in Bruges started at the Folklore Museum. It's only 4 Euro and you can get a nice overview of life in the city in the 19th and 20th centuries. Don't forget to look for the black cat who lives there. He's rare to see and is one of a long line of black cats who call the museum home. We then walked (you can walk everywhere) to the Burg Square where you'll find the Stadhuis (town hall) and a little further on is the Grote Markt. The latter is the main square where you'll find see the Belfry (Belfort) and dozens of tourists. Bruges is known for two things: an abundance of beauty and an abundance of tourists seeking it. But no one cares because you're so stunned at the charming city around you. We walked on to the Church of Our Lady where the altar piece is a Michelangelo sculpture of the Madonna and Child. Made of Carrara marble, it's been stolen twice and is now safe again to view at the church. Across the street is Sint-Janshospitaal - the one that was a hospital from the 1100s to the 1970s. Now you'll find religious art and - my favourite - examples of old ambulances. A visit here makes you really appreciate modern medicine. It started to rain and we were getting hungry so we headed to the Friet Museum (Fry Museum). How could we visit Belgium without doing a deep dive into the history of fries?! We wanted to find out why so many people mistakenly call them 'French fries' - we also wanted to eat fries. Check and check. It stopped raining so we ended the Bruges tour by boarding a river cruise because there are parts of the city only visible from the water. I'd definitely recommend a boat ride if you're visiting Bruges - it's relaxing and offers a unique perspective not seen by other means. We absolutely loved visiting Bruges and hope you enjoyed this visit to the jewel of Belgium.

Hiking around the battlefield of (one of) Europe's last cavalry charges: the Battle of Halen

Hello, hope you’re not tired of seeing Belgium yet, because we love exploring our home country as much as any other! Today we're not taking you to another medieval Castle, but telling you the story of an important event in modern military history. We’re in Halen where the last cavalry battle of Western Europe took place during World War One! It was here that on the 12th of August 1914 the Belgian army gained a huge morale boosting victory against the unstoppable German onslaught! Soldiers on bicycles armed with rifles defeated soldiers on horses armed with sabres. Let us take you on a tour of the battlefield and all the interesting places still around!

If you liked the video, then give us a thumbs up and share the history love with your friends. Comment if you have any remarks or suggestions. If you are interested in tagging along and seeing more of our content, then be sure to subscribe!

We CYCLED from Bruges to Ghent! Belgium Van Life ????????

How far are you prepared to cycle for a Belgium beer a Belgium waffle and Belgium frites? As it turns out - too far!
Although we planned to park near Ghent to have a look around, the rainy weather gave us another idea. Cycle the 35km along the canal between Bruges and Ghent and reward ourselves with the quintessential Belgian treats. Things didn't quite go as planned though!
