We shot this Top things to do in Hoi An, Vietnam video from what has become one of our favourite locations we've visited so far. Hoi An is simply an amazing must-visit city in Vietnam. We hope this video helps you get a glimpse into as much magic as we were able to capture during our 5 night stay in Hoi An, Vietnam.
If you're planning a trip to Vietnam, it should include a visit to Hoi An Ancient Town and you definitely need to stay from day until evening because everything changes at night. From the glowing silk lanterns to the row boats slowly drifting down the river. This little Hoi An old town is simply charming. Just be prepared for the big crowds to pack in during the evening and night time.
Remember to pick up your tickets from the ticket stations located around the Hoi An Ancient Town. Once you pay for this you can visit any 5 special attractions of your choice.
Some of the ticketed attractions we visited in Hoi An Old Town were:
1. Assembly Hall Of Fujian Chinese
Address: 46 Trần Phú, Cẩm Châu, Hội An, Quảng Nam, Vietnam
Hours: Monday - Sunday 7am–6pm
2. Japanese Covered Bridge
Address: Nguyễn Thị Minh Khai, Phường Minh An, Hội An, Quảng Nam 564010, Vietnam
3. Museum of Trade Ceramics Hoi An
80 Tran Phu St. | Minh An, Hoi An, Vietnam
Hours: Monday - Sunday 7am–6pm
You should also visit Hoi An Night Market in the Ancient Town. Cross the Hoi An bridge and you'll enter the night market. Much more enjoyable at night with all the boats running along and lanterns fully lit up. It is a very touristy area though so just be aware of the higher prices and crowds.

If you're looking for a nice beach to relax in Hoi An has you covered.
There are 3 main beaches in Hoi An:
- An Bang Beach
- Tan Tanh Beach
- Cua Dai Beach
An Bang Beach will be the most busy so try Tan Tanh or Cua Dai if you're wanting more space to relax.
We also went to an ancient temple and UNESCO world heritage site called My Son Sanctuary to find out some of the amazing history of the Champa people who once lived in Vietnam. My Son Sanctuary is a must-visit when you're in Hoi An, Vietnam especially if you love history and ancient ruins.

Best Things to Do in Hoi An Vietnam! Our Top 5 Picks
Welcome to our guide on the top 5 things to do in Hoi An, Vietnam! In this video, we will show you the must-see attractions and experiences in this charming city. If you are not sure how to spend your time check out our Top 5 Recommendations.
#1 Explore the Old Town. This UNESCO World Heritage Site is home to historic buildings, narrow streets, and colorful lanterns. You can take a stroll through the streets, immerse yourself in the city's rich culture and admire the riverfront. Highly recommend walking around at night to see the lanterns and boats lit up.
#2 Try the basket (Coconut) boats. These traditional round boats, made from bamboo, are used by local fishermen to catch fish and crabs. You can take a ride on one of these boats and experience the craziness of Vietnam. This turned out to be way more of a party than we expected. Bring some boat drinks.
#3 Bike through the rice fields. Hoi An is surrounded by lush rice paddies and picturesque countryside. Rent a bike and explore the scenery. There are plenty of coffee shops that are nice to stop at and cool down.
#4 Try the local food. Hoi An is famous for its fresh and delicious cuisine, and there's no better way to experience it than by trying the local street food. We try some city favorite like Cao lao, Mi Quang and Bahn MI.
#5 Get something tailored. Hoi An is well-known for its skilled tailors and affordable prices. You can choose from a wide range of fabrics and designs and have your outfit made to measure. The tailors seem to need about 2-4 days on average to get things done. We recommend giving yourself and extra day so they have time to make revisions if you need them.
Extra - If you have more time you can also go to Marble Mountain the beach or My son ruins. We elected to visit Marble Mountain and it was a nice day trip by scooter.
We really enjoyed staying outside of the old town in the rice paddies, This put us right in the middle of everything and made it easy to see it all. Maison Fleur Luxury Hoin An really was a great choice and a lovely boutique hotel. Check them out!

We made it to Hoi An, Vietnam and we are in LOVE with this beautiful city! We spent a few days exploring its Ancient Town, trying local foods, going to a night market, spinning on a basket boat, making a lantern, and riding bikes to the beach and through a vegetable garden. It was one of our favorite few days in Vietnam!

This Vietnam Travel Guide is part of my Vietnam series and we start episode 1 with things you need to know before you go to Danang as well as things you need to know before you go to Hoi An Vietnam. Da Nang Beach and the Danang Beach resorts are popular destinations and I will help you navigate through the city and give you my favorite tips and tricks. My Da Nang travel tips are based on what I wish I knew before coming to Da Nang Vietnam as well as Hoi An Vietnam. There are many things to do in Da Nang but I wanted to focus on the differences of each area, what each specific area offers and general things you must know when coming to danang for the first time. In fact, Da nang is the fifth largest city in Vietnam and located central part of the country. IT is locate don the cost of the South China Sea and is one of the most important ports in Vietnam.
There are more seafood restaurants options by the Da Nang beach area, like the ones where you get to pick out the live seafood from tanks or buckets and then staff will weigh it out in front of you. I personally enjoy this process andI think it’s more reasonably priced. So if you’re like me, this beachside may be your best choice
